- Falling in love with this Swiss valley! Our hike through Val Fex, Engadin Switzerland!
Our hike started with Nonna and Grandpa in the beautiful town of Sils im Engadin, where we saw the horse drawn carriages and Nietzsche's house from when he lived there. We continued up until we came across an awe-inspiring waterfall, where we said goodbye to Nonna and Grandpa.
From this point, we carried on walking through a wooded area and came across some beautiful flowers and buildings. We crossed over the river and walked through a village area surrounded by wildflowers. Just past the village area we came up to Hotel Sonne Fex, where Hannah's parents stayed on their honeymoon, and we stopped for a drink in the sun.
As we left the hotel to continue our walk up the valley, the clouds darkened and we thought we were in for a drenching. The nearby mountains disappeared in a haze and we made sure not to hike too far away from a nearby woodland area we could shelter in. Miraculously though, the gloomy skies seemed to move all around us and the rain missed us entirely, so we pushed on until we reached a nice farm area to sit and enjoy the valley views from.
On the way back, we looped round a different way and passed right by the waterfall and through the gorge close to Sils. We met Nonna and Grandpa, who kindly returned to collect us, and headed back to St Moritz for the evening.

@@LozsLeisure Oh yes there are many beautiful places! If you want to stay around the mounrains I personally love the valleys Simmental and Diemtigtal in the Kanton Bern. There is still alot of traditional cow farming there, so you will find green mountain pastures and lots of traditional houses, beautiful flora and fauna as well. From there you can also visit the old lake town of Thun which I like alot. There are some iconic yet not too difficult mountains to hike on, the Niesen which has it's own funicular, the Stockhorn and the lesser known Wiriehorn 🏔

That hotel must have a great view for sunset/sunrise!

Ahhh, Mark! Always great to hear from you too! Glad to hear we cheered you up 😁 how are you doing? We're each spending Christmas with our families and then on Boxing Day I'm driving to see Hannah's family in Cardiff. We'll be there for New Year too and then seeing my mum some more in the new year.
