Hello, e-racer was one of my childhood games and probably my first racing game. I completed the game (and unlocked everything in it) many times, but know-how wasn't obvious. In the beginning of this video you wrote: "For some reason I wasn't able to unlock other cars. Might be a bug". It's not a bug - it's just a weird award system in this game. The most important thing is FOR WHICH TIME you win in a certain race (track) within the championship (the difficulty, amateur or professional, does not even matter). Let me explain it. The game ASSUMES that you would start AMATEUR championship (not PROFESSIONAL difficulty level) firstly. Winning in the first race (track) always awards you with Mantis car (the first one you unlocked at 8:20 of the video) - no matter whether it is amateur or professional championship. Winning in the second race gives you nothing and winning in the third race awards you with Proteus car (the second one you unlocked in 15:53). Now is the most important fact - the next won races unlock ONLY next races (tracks). You see it constantly through your gameplay. No new cars, but new tracks unlocked. This is intended by the game, because you have to have tracks first to unlock cars later and the game will give you only 0 or 1 award per race (normally, for playing professional level instead of amateur one AT THE FIRST ATTEMPT you should be awarded with 2 awards - a new track and a new car, but it is not a case in e-racer). Yes, if you play the game for the first time, then no matter what championship you start firstly (amateur or professional) - this scheme of only 2 cars unlocked and then only tracks unlocked is guaranteed. Why? Because you win in races FOR THE FIRST TIME. When you finish amateur championship, the game assumes you would start professional championship - and then you would unlock the rest of cars. Why? Because you have tracks unlocked already and you win in races for the SECOND time. Yes, you can play amateur championship the second time in a row and that second run will give you cars. For example: winning in the 4th race (track called Chemical Plant) FOR THE FIRST TIME unlocks only a new track called Aircraft Carrier (you see it at 20:05) - no matter if within amateur or professional championship. Winning in the same 4th race FOR THE SECOND TIME will give you the next car (Aerotech), which you haven't unlocked - it does NOT matter whether within amateur or professional championship. You just have to win on the 4th track TWO times, no matter if you just repeat the amateur or professional championship. IT DOES NOT EVEN MATTER IF YOU RELOAD THE SAVE FILE FROM ANY CHAMPIONSHIP - ONCE UNLOCKED TRACKS AND CARS ARE UNLOCKED FOREVER. That's the trick - save the progress in GAME 1] slot (or any other empty slot) after winning in the 3th race, then win in the 4th race for the first time (the new track called Aircraft Carrier unlocks), then save the progress in GAME 2] slot (or any other empty slot) and THEN RELOAD the GAME 1] save slot in order to win in the 4th race FOR THE SECOND TIME - and you will unlock a new car. At the end you can just go back to your GAME 2] slot and continue your championship but with new car unlocked. I discovered all of this as a kid who loved this game.
Hi, I'm the original owner of this channel but I lost my password and there's no way to recover it haha (believe me , I've tried almost everything). Thank you so much for that explanation, it all makes sense now.
@@BotLikeProductions I am shocked and happy at the same time that you replied to my comment even though you have no access to the original channel. Thank you for your full championship gameplay (it's rare to see the full gameplay on YT for this game) :) And... there are 2 secret things to unlock in e-racer - "the bonus car" which you unlocked at 1:16:14 and a bonus track called "Boy Racer" which isn't even mentioned anywhere in the game if I remember correctly (you have at least a question mark in the car selection option for "the bonus car", but there is no indication for the bonus track). I am not completely sure - the bonus track is unlocked after winning in the last race within the amateur championship or after winning the amateur championship in general (but I tend to the former). The same analogy applies to the "bonus car" - you win in the last race within the professional championship or you win the professional championship in general and the bonus car is unlocked. All the best!
My favourite game too. Unfortunately, never finished championship on professional level, but I still have tens of replays in unlocked tracks, and I had some huge fun with physics in eRacer.
I have a cool story with this game. It was probably the first game i ever played, it was a saturday morning at my uncle's house and i was looking for cds in his garage (i was around 5-6 yo) I remember to be so hyped about finding an actual game, ran to my uncle's pc and installed it. i have played it for like, 6 years, i remember being in elementary school and showing my teacher draws i made of this game; Looking at this footage gives me so so much nostalgia, and i wonder if im able to play it again in my Windows 10 PC. I still have the disc, in mid conditions, but my computer dosen't have a disk reader so i'll probably just look for a download in the web !
I still remember this game as I got it for Christmas back in 2001. It was really difficult, not helped by the fact that I wasn't used to drifting in racing games back in the day. But it was still a solid game that provided console based racing exclusively for PC gamers.
So much nostalgia! 16:24 I remember that you could always do a massive shortcut there, by just skipping the top right loop. There is no checkpoint there, so you can literally just pass the top-right checkpoint and immediately turn left! That way I finished a whole lap sooner than the rest :) Also after a while I figured that the game cannot handle mid-air crashes well, so I chose to drive in the opposite direction, wait at the jumps for the other cars to come and crash into them before they touched the ground again, then sometimes it shoots the cars through half the map! Another mode I made up myself was speedrunning to get every car to ~67% car damage so they'd start to smoke, or get myself to 100% damage.
Funny fact: I'm from Russia and our localizers translated this game for the Russian market as "Fast and Furious (Форсаж)" to attract a buyer due to the popularity of the film
I had the demo of this from a magazine CD, or maybe it was bundled with my PC. Whatever, I'd been trying to remember what it was and only yesterday after hours of searching through lists of obscure racing games did I come across this video. Such a good game but I never had the full version, very playable with no fancy arcade nonsense or intrusive realism.
Absolutely amazing game, pretty difficult vs the AI. No differences between Amateur or Pro levels just the fact that you have to place higher. My favorite cars were the Aerotech and the Ferreno and my favourite track was car park, absolutely pleasant to master it. It was also more downloadable tracks, "ice eight", "military base", "bus station" and one in the sewers. I might still have the files somewhere.
Bro when i was a kid i was allways crashing in to walls. I was trying it today and im still not that good as you and i play now games like fh4 fh5 (i tried it on friends console) nfs 2012 nfs rivals nfs payback. Non of this games are this hard on amateur level like this one.
I bet in this game was a "toy track" set in room scenery. Made of books, blocks, toys and other stuff like this. It looked like cars were toy size and racing on the floor. I think it was bonus track.
This game seemed so real. I loved it. I was sad when Rage went out of business. What PC game would be a good replacement for Eracer? I I'm looking to play with people online but I'm a sucker for realistic graphics too. Thanks for any recommendations.
this game has really bad slowdown issues on windows 10, particularly on the Quarry and Hill Climb tracks but on windows xp and 7 it runs fine, i have it in compatibility mode for xp service pack 3 and run as administrator and i have directx 9.0, any possible solution for this?
Try setting compatibility to windows xp and run as administrator. Or maybe you're missing some old drivers that this game requires. Do you have directx installed?

I spent ages in replay mode - some of the best replays in any game ever. Super slow mo!
Damn, I miss this impossible game. I think I still have the box somewhere.

I got this game with my Compaq Presario desktop in the year 2001. They sent me another game called Serious Sam as well.
Serious Sam 😢
That’s definitely where I got mine then, because I had that same computer. 😂
is it just me or is this game next to impossible even on amateur difficulty on the first race
IMHO the only difference in difficulty levels is that you need to be at least 2nd in pro championship to continue, versus 4th in amateur championship.
