2024 and still feels like this song came out last month!! ❤️
It don't get no better than this.
Why wasn't this a huge hit? Perfection
Should be a big hit was what I thought too!
@@garykeenan3724 KLM go Jo Jo Fu hi Jo hop. bFu
Because quality and commercial success aren’t aligned . If they were this would be a huge hit
Unbelievable…. I only found it in past three months and I play it every day… soooo good!
Only those that sell there souls make the really big money.
The Blue Shadows from Vancouver, were a Juno Award-nominated alt-country band that existed between 1992 and 1996, releasing two albums in Canada on Sony Music. The origins of the group are referenced to Billy Cowsill and Elmar Spanier, who had been performing as The Billy Cowsill Band, playing traditional country songs. The group's first album, On The Floor of Heaven, released on Bumstead Records and distributed by Sony, was certified gold in Canada, for sales in excess of 50,000 copies. They also received a 1994 Juno award nomination as Best Country Group or Duo.
Why didn't they stay together as a group?
Billy Cowsill has voice of an angel. Love ya Billy RIP
Jeffrey's song along, with Billy's massive knowledge and talent created a perfect song.
Couldn't agree more!!
Perfect is the correct word
Feb 18, 2020.. it’s been 14 years since the Mentor passed. He said he had the Old Man Trifecta - osteoporosis, Cushing Syndrome and emphysema.. and then he passed 🌹 rest well Bill
got drunk and played this so much after the passing of my baby sister… nice to hear it again 💯💯💯💯
wow sounds like a record Hank Williams sr wouldve made if he lived in this era awesome job...Bill Cowsill R.I.P.
johnny bravo - my thoughts absolutely! I was lucky enough to play guitar with the great Billy Cowsill when I was a green, nervous 18 yr old guitar picker; I’ll never forget my time performing with him- monster talent! RIP Billy Cowsill 🙏
Real Fagnan Lucky you!
@@cruiseguitar oh please post your stories! What an experience!
Had the good fortune of seeing him (Billy) in small pubs (Darby D Dawes anyone?) during his Vancouver days around 1990. Amazing voice
Fantastic harmonies. Incredible voice. CZcams is a tree that blossoms eternally. Long live Billy Cowsill in the ears of everyone :^)
Found it finally.Heard it once before but didn't know who sang it.
This is truly one of the best country songs I have ever heard !
I love this song and Billy Cowsill can sing anything. I’m a big fan of Blue Shadows too.
. love 💕
Listening to deliver me in southern CA now. Billy and Elmar would play on the small stage in "our" pub in North Van. More local musicians for Friday and Saturday nights. And eventually Jeff Hatcher showed up. Absolute magic.
The days of the Rusty Gull. Billy was the best and deserved better. Rip
The legendary Billy Cowsill! He is greatly missed.
Remarkable how Billy Cowsill channels a strong Hank Williams vibe with The Blue Shadows. Talented guy, whatever he did.
Great singer.
When I saw him live first time, I realized I had never really a seen a singer with that level of a voice before.
Bill was always my favorite Cowsill, not the cutest one, but my God, that voice and so much natural talent. Unfortunately, so much pain in that family that left horrible scars. I feel confident that Bill, Barry, Rich and Barbara have finally found the peace and love they deserve. Thanks for posting this video.
+cynthia pumphrey BILLY COWSILL CHANNELING HANK WILLIAMS' INNER SOUL.
I totally agree with you, but I do think Billy is the cutest one❤️😘
No Laura. They’re all cute........ (not so much Billy)
@@martyzielinski2469 Billy def was the cute one...and the one that was the major talent of the Cowsills. When they were young all were cute...but later on Billy's talent really shone thru.
@@chainamarie03 They were all talented.
Love this song - should be a classic played on radio every day but hardly anyone even knows about it. RIP Billy
I was 18 when this song came out and I would crank it everytime it came on the radio, loved it then and still love it now. Awesome song.
I think that this song might just be perfect. the whole album is really a work of art.
I love the song...and the vid.
Anyone know where to get this album
Billy WAS legendary, from the Cowsills, The Blue Shadows, The Co-Dependents. I really miss his voice....
@Stan Jung Billy was also in a Canadian band called Blue Northern. This was after The Cowsills and before Blue Shadows. Blue Northern had a number of Top 40 radio hits.
Blue Northern a great band...absolutely...love the Blue Shadows
@@donnabbb3298 This is great. 9 years after posting a comment, I've started a conversation! :) Thanks for the heads up on Blue Northern.
The Blue Shadows have been a family favorite for close to twenty years. Our adult children grew up to this music.
Feel very fortunate to own a copy of On the Floor of Heaven. Indeed. And not on Spotify. Tragic for those that are missing out.
New Country will never touch this..
Loved listening to this. Again and again. 😁❤️
Some of the best harmony you will ever hear!
I love listening to this song it brings back so much memories of when I was still with my wife I wish I was still with her I miss her so much
I asked the bass player to ask the other guys to reunite this awesome band even as a trio.. to perform he & drummer are up for it. Make it happen guys such a body of good music to be played
These guys performed at my relatives wedding way back when and handed out this album after the show. Wow this song is very special to our family since we expanded across Canada since then. But man this song hits us when it comes on lol
Billy was an amazing point of love for REAL MUSIC! LITLLE BRO BARRY WAS CLOSE BEHIND!!!
this is a classic song i listen to this song back in the 90's growing up & i still like this song alot & im like 34 of age
That jingle-jangle-twang!!!
Dang, that was heavenly...saw these guys at neighborhood club in '93. Billy & Jeffery delivered a smokin set of ForEverly/early Beatles, blissful harmony❗️❗️
🇨🇦
That must have been absolutely incredible!
The most insanely talented band destroyed by the father. If Bill could have just got alway from the drugs he would have just taken the world. What’s been done cannot be undone and the abuse is carried forward. Amazing man and soul deep music. What a loss.
What a beautiful song. I recently saw the video about Billy Cowsill’s car which is hauntingly beautiful yet so painful. Rest in peace Billy.
I was sooo lucky to see Billy at the Rusty Gull at least a hundred times he and Elmar rocked it weas often just the two Elmar played stand up bass miss ya Billy
Smart well crafted songs on entire album. It was on heavy rotation in my house. Thank you 😊
So so good, thanks for sharing. Found this by accident, so pleased I did.
This is the best song I’ve heard in 2020 ha!Anybody know who produced the video? Song and imagery reminds me of Northern Pikes and brings me back to growing up here in Canada. Thanks!
I was lucky enough to see the Blue Shadows at the Horseshoe around the time this came out. A wonderful group, and Billy was a great singer. But I also have to mention guitarist Jeffrey Hatcher, who wrote this beautiful song. There's also a fine version of the song on Cross Our Hearts, the sole album by Jeffrey Hatcher and the Big Beat, from around 1987.
The great Billy Cowsill!!!!!
What a beautifully strong song. They sound great. Bill Cowsill had enormous talent.
a gem of a track,lets have a reissue of these two albums.rip bill.jpj
Bill Cowsill was a genius... He Barry and Richard Cowsill are missed
Awesome, awesome, awesome! Love this song so much. What fantastic voices and harmonies. Funny to think Billy's family group was who The Partridge Family was based upon.
bumstead did a awsome thing re-releasing this album - much thx to them
What a voice!
Incredible song, vocals, harmony and lyrics. The video brings you back to supplier times. I am sorry that i never did bet to see them perform live.

love this Song Deliver Me
Perfection, beautiful 💗
Cool song .. still to this day
He had such a strong voice
Dancing couple in the darkness is both beautiful and frightening at the same time. Guess the song is about all that---"come deliver me, from this night"...
PURE AWESOMENESS!!!
❤Wow,just found this, awesome,so sad about Bill's family, the dad abusive and spent their money, would have never known he was of the Cowsills❤
2019 and still awesome
This fantastic song and "If it Ain't Rockin" are my total favorites. Can someone load the other song? There is a live version on YT but not the album version.

Beautiful Song!
great album - glad to see that it was re-issued
Great song
The Cowsills sing this also..love it!
Totally agree J LYRICS TREMENDOUS ARRANGEMENT FANTASTIC VOICES OUT OF THIS WORLD
A TALENTED GROUP
WHY IT NEVER BIG HIT AMAZES ME
Long live Billy!
His voice was powerful like Orbison and Presley
It was like anyone he wanted it to be like.
Superior to Blue Rodeo in every way. I was in the audience when they played Benmurgi's show with The Band, and The Band got seriously served.
Paul Corby 😳 Wow!
Happy Birthday Billy XO
Blue Shadows were divine
Feeling spiritual growth
Great song, Love it :)
Such a sad ending for such a talented singer. Bill died from a drug addiction. Breaks my heart.
Bob Haslett osteoporosis, Cushing syndrome and emphysema killed him. Or, as in his words: he got the old man trifecta
Not really. Bill got clean and stayed clean until the day he died. By 2000, he looked good and healthy. It took him two years to get clean. When he died he had emphysema, osteoporosis, and Cushings.
Amazing
When I found out why Billy was no longer part of the Cowsills my first thought was that he must have been absolutely devastated and lonely, despite being married. Billy raised those kids. Billy and Bob were prolific writers by the time Billy was 15. Bud certainly didn't raise them. Barbara wasn't the best at Motherhood either. So, the four oldest boys found a way to get out of the house. A way that they were a natural at - they sang and played instruments.
Bud was a bully and the first time that anyone around these kids saw bruises or signs of abuse, the police should have been called.
Genius songwriting, genius production. Got Vocals? wow.
I am madly in love with the girl dancer!
Miss him ...back in the Day at the Birchmount Tavern..Toronto/Scarborough..
Good stuff!
Exelente canción!
De este importante integrante de THE COWSILLS!
I wish I could have met him...I would have been in love..in a heartbeat. Just something about him.
As usual with the cowsills the AWESOME talent is not truly appreciated.
Good sound.
use to always sing this song every weekend in the bars girls would just go crazy for us mean my late brother the good alway die young...... love you bro one day we will sing again....
The Blue Shadows should have taken Nashville by storm.
Simon & Garfunkel, Carter & Cash, Cowsill & Hatcher.
Sadly, you can't find The Blue Shadows on Spotify.
nice
Yoh this song rules all others drool
A direct tribute to the great Hank Williams
I love this song
I can’t seem to find it on Apple Music is this song on Apple Music?
I saw Bill(y) Cowsill many times in Vancouver. I don't recall the name of the group he was with or even if they had one. They played regularly at a bar my ball team went to after games (yes, beer league). I lost track of him until I heard and fell in love with 'On the Floor of Heaven' disc.
Was that Darby's Pub at 4th and MacDonald in Vancouver!! I am sure as I was bar manager there from 1988 to 1991 [correction] and we booked him on "slow" tuesday's . What a voice R.I.P. Billy
Hi Mike! Still got that GTO?
This was from Darby's:

This video of the band playing is great and I wish they wouldn't keep flashing to the couple throwing eachother around... Lol. ❤️. Rip Billy.
Yup my uncle wrote this song and made it, he sold it to them
WRONG. Music and lyrics of Deliver Me were written by Jeffrey Hatcher of The Blue Shadows.
@@davidlove827 it was bought from my uncle who wrote the damn song, Joey chalifoux wrote the song and sold it for a 1000 dollars lol
@@tommygiroux6512 Talk like that can land you in court.
@@davidlove827 oh yeah
@Tommy Giroux what year did your uncle write it and when did he sell it?
When I first heard this, I thought there was a Neechie element here., but i was mistaken. Still a good song.
As a rule I hate country music. But I LOVE this!!!
Why is this song not on itunes?
2022
Reminds me of the time i was sent to jail, my first offense. Sitting in remand not knowing i was sitting with murders. They asked me why i would be in remand, if i were sentened. I hot ten monthes in 1994 i didnt get out until 1999. One word RACISM nothin but a memory as i said when i was released.
2019??
1994
when I heard on a cd I thought these guys are good.
Bill had a much better voice than Bob, damn good song
