he is not used to paper-thin elf units, so just loses them due to micro

45:11 confusing staff, it's rare in a game to see the importance order of buildings when it comes to staffing, for NE it's tree of eternity > tree of ages > tree of life > altar > AoW > lore > wind > AP > moonwell . Shop, chimera roost and huntress hall can't be staffed to.
Great game! Thanks for uploading it. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and watched the Twitch chat reactions too. We all thought it was over at several points, but it was so much fun to see how you managed to find ways to keep the game alive and stay competitive. You played incredibly well, and even though he deserved the win with his play in the end, you really showed your skill and resilience. I love the twitch chat overlay in such games, I feel like I am almost with football fans watching a match we cheer for the good moments, laugh at the funny and sad of the bad moments =)

When i was a kid i would mostly play on the biggest maps because i wanted all my heroes to be lvl 10.
Several videos back I remember Grubby talking about Wind Riders + Raiders, and now this opponent did it.

Tha lifesteal was with sooo much value and such a huge impact on the game.
Just watched this game today from your stream last week and it was simply amazing. It became clear very early that that Blade was gonna be a problema but I can't believe you managed to hold on so much and kill almost every unit with just your heroes, it reminded me of Happy vs. Lyn (except against a level 10 Blade). That surround and kill as it got to level 6 was impressive, too. Sad that you couldn't kill him again when he was running a bit later, that could've been a major point in your favor.
Love the chemistry (heh) between the Alchemist and the KotG!
Edit: Lol I just now realized the Blade kill was a deny by the Shadow 20:11, even more amazing play on his part.
I don't understand the dryad strategy, grubby said he needed more, but at no point it felt like more dryads would have helped him in this game

Dryads rarely seem all that great to me except for having a couple in certain situations.
I guess later having a few more to nuke illusions might have been good... but they get hunted down by BM so easily... doesn't seem viable.
Dryads have auto slow poison (anti melee), passive spell immunity (anti hex), auto cast purging effects (anti shamans/spirit walkers) and summons (mirror image and serpent wards) Basically shut down shadow hunter and spirit lodge. But they only have 435hp, given to a pro player, they are hit and run units of night elves.
It means usually orc player has to play either raider/wind rider (after the patch, windrider is more popular than berserkers) In the end, no more gold means no one can stop re-talented blade master's mirror image army. Grubby's heroes selection accommodates for 15 minutes game, not 1 hour long. I do think that is why competitive scenes often see blade master and demon hunter. They are one man army eventually.

The worst unit against orc is and always was a dryad. Even bears are better against air then dryads.
What could have been a 15min game with DH, BM and Thinker or FL with fast mass DotT turned into LOTR movie 😂
He had no time to go for t3 and get bears, he stll almost died massing dryads if he tries to go bears he just has less of the same units so it is surely death, I think going mass t1 would have been the best choice, he had the eco advantage and mass hunts and archers can beat both raiders and wyverns

Vampiric aura was too difficult to deal with on a high level BM like that.

Yeah, I think he should've sent a wisp to both merc camps and hired ogres.
I understand he was stuck at tier 2 and every unit pretty much sucks against raiders in NE T2. But I think he should've hired more mercs.
He realised his mistake about midway and started hiring troll beserkers for the wyverns, but why didn't he hire ogres for the raiders or did I miss it. It was a 50min game and wasn't paying full attention. Seemed like he was relying on treeants to handle the raiders.

Isn't it fascinating how at the highest depths of skill level there are still lots of flaws and room for improvement yet someone at a high rank can beat a medium ranked player 100 times in a row and a medium ranked player can beat a low ranked player 100 times in a row!
I remember playing online back in the day of 1.14 and got just inside the top 1000/900 euw and I sometimes played against people lower ranked and could easily win against people who thought they were strong 7 times in a row to prove it's not just luck.
Yet I could lose against someone ranked top 500 7 times in a row and there was little to no chance.
Only carefully gaining skills and knowledge could actually bridge the gap.
whenever I see that alchemist ult I have to think off that one ffa game where the opponent kept being mad and saying "he sell me"

I think if I did played this game, I would play as Night Elf. they seem the most reactive, and varied
grubby i wanna start playing in 2024 could you do some stream with your webcam in your fingers with keybinds , i find so dificult pressing hero items
Make a custom game where both bases are at the opposite of a long line 1 screen wide.that units need to travel for a good 3-4 minutes to traverse. Each player gets a mine with infinite gold and indestructible trees with infinite wood. Put shops and creeps along the route. You gotta push your way all the way to oppo's base. Gotta make advanced outposts and stuff. Just one long thin line map. The slow push to oppo's base.

the orc played well, but always so sad to see Grubby try so hard and lose as i cheer him on as the underdog

Tough game. Sure, the BM was a tough nut, but the healer was the unsung hero, right ? If BM keeps being healed up... no chance to take him down.

I like each race has it's own mmr. IT helps not punish you for playing something different
Why did you make so many dryads?
Genuine question from a bad player.
To me it seemed like Dryads would've been a lovely support but lack the power to kill enemy units and too fragile on their own.
Wouldn't have a bear or two made sense to give an extra heal to your hearoes or increase the damage of your army (had it not beem dryads but archers instead?)
I also wonder about hippogryph riders. With the enemy using those many flying units, Hippogryph riders seem rather powerful and a few druids of the talon could've taken the blademaster out of the fight too, wouldn't it?
Not trying to tell a pro player would to do. Just my thoughts from watching all this and not understanding why you went with dryads so much and I'd love to understand why you went that route.
