Beard's story definitely seems true and it absolutely explains his fierce loyalty to Ted.
Jamie was 23 in season 1, Roy was 38 and Keeley said she was "almost 30" so most likely 29. So, Keeley is basically in the middle of those 2 age-wise, but closer to Jamie.

@@WineBites I remembered Jamie and Keeley's ages, but I did have to Google Roy's since I don't think it is officially mentioned in the show. Turns out that Arlo White posted an image for the season 1 finale that lists all the Richmond and Man City players, their ages and some facts about them which is pretty cool.
Tbh when Keeley said she was almost 30, I took that to mean that she was probably 32 or 33 and didn't want people to think she was getting 'old'. (I am fully aware that 33 is not old but it's a common trope to have a woman feel the need to lie about her age)

The Nate / Beard scene is one of my favorites in the whole series. Such... humanity there. Plus a callback to season two, when Nate wants Roy to headbutt him for kissing Keely: Beard says, "I'd gladly headbutt you."
This episode never fails to make me cry. This show was perfect to me from start to finish. Bring on The Richmond Way

And thus completes Jamie’s magnificent arc.
Jamie dad is in rehab. This episode is another one on the books. Beards monologue is incredible in delivery and the mix of seriousness in humor. (Brilliant writing) and Ted with his mom / juxtaposed Jamie and his. Just so good. Happy Sunday dinner if my favorite guys.

For your question. The Manchester City manager is the real Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola currently tripple winner (ennglish championship, fa-cup winer und european champiosn league winner) and for a lot of people the greatest clubmanager of all time.
Who's known for being absolutely ruthless... The whole "make players be the best they can be" is ridiculous coming from pep... would be more believable coming from Klopp or De Zerbi...

1:09 in S1, Nate mentioned his worst fear was turning gray, and by making the choices he did, he went gray from betrayal sorta like visible karma
In S1 Nate also mentions how he's afraid of making a mistake and then runs through a scenario that results in how people would end up hating him and he would have to move back with his parents. It sheds light on his character and story arc.

Probably one of my favorite scenes from this season is the scene between Beard and Nate. Beard is a character I never needed to know the backstory on. He’s just a weird dude that is loyal to Ted, and I was ok with that. However, this scene gave me what I thought I never needed, a reason for why Beard is loyal to Ted, and it’s absolutely beautiful how the writers made that the reason why Beard forgave Nate!
I love that they got the real Pep Guardiola to play himself for the Man City match.

Not sure if you guys caught the easter egg since that part of the commentaryvwas in the youtube edit but the things that the Pep, the manchester city manager about his coaching philosophy is the exact words that ted told trent crimm about his philosophy way back in season one when trent and him went to the restaurant when trent interviewed ted

the parallels between jamie wanting to tell his dad "fuck you", then "thank you", and ted using that to pour his heart out to his mom... i still got chills.
jamie's arc has to be my ultimate favourite of the entire show with rebecca's. they deserve the world and more.

I was honestly surprised with the Thank you/Fuck you scene, well because we barely hear Ted dropped the F bomb, but also was like this scene needed to happen because of the pain he when though ever since he's father's death which also he was there when it happened which makes things even worse for Ted! Which his mom wasn't there for him or herself at all which is horrible because like he said the way she was made him believe he had to be that way also like not taking therapy, being optimistic all the time, bottled everything up, which made him have panic attacks!
To Nate's Grey Hair Background, nick mohamed has still darker hair, the reason to make him grey is probably a football reference to the manager jose mourinho (the "bad guy" of football) counter part to pep guardiola the manager who jason sudekeis as manchester city fans admires.
I think I saw you comment this on another video and the Mourinho reference is such a stretch. Also, viewing Mourinho as the bad guy of football is massively reductive. Nate's hair greying is just showing the viewers the toll that his decisions are taking on him and a nod to him saying in Season 1 that growing old is his greatest fear.
Mourinho was never the bad guy and never treated players or stuff members like Nate did. Besides that Mourinho never had a confidence problem. Also, to me Nate with the grey hair looked more like Carlo Ancelotti than Mourinho.

Nick Mohammed said they gradually dyed his hair more grey. At certain point, he started to wear a wig.

I'm so glad Jason Sudeikis got a well-seen platform to showcase his talents. And the best bit is that on the face of it, the role appears to be in the same vein as the roles he kind of got pigeonholed into but the show elevated the character so much. (And if you needed further proof, he's also great in Colossal, which predates Ted Lasso).

I need them to rewatch season 1!! Because i was rewatching the reactions and watching it i swear they need to rewatch season 1. I never appreciated the entire show as much until I watched it in multiple times. The first time I watched it amazing but the second time through I was like !!oh my gosh.!!
I agree with Eric, you can be both petty and forgiving at the same time. For me I’ll be petty if someone doesn’t actively try to make up for what they did/said or if you’re just generally rude but if someone is making genuine steps towards doing the right thing or apologising I will absolute forgive someone for that

Eric is definitely petty when it comes with difference of opinion.
And characters that piss him off. It's funny to see it play out. Aaron is very analytical and it usually gives him an openness to multiple possibilities however, when he thinks his version is right.. that's it. And Calvin is the diplomat. Calvin gets mad when animations or movies don't honor the true physics of machinery and devices. 😂
BTW nates hair was gradually greyed to show stress. It's not his natural hair color.

Players are allowed to wear masks and other protective gear even if they are not injured.
Some players do wear it as their trademark and/or to feel confident even long after an injury has healed, e.g. Victor Osimhen's mask and Petr Čech's helmet.
Technically, all players could wear that stuff, but most don't because they find it uncomfortable and a mask makes it a bit harder to see and a helmet makes it more difficult to accurately head the ball.
Cech actually did still have to wear the helmet, all the way up until he retired. He spoke about it affecting his hearing on the pitch, and that he wanted to play without it but was told no by doctors.
@@CJB02 Oh yeah, true, I guess that's different, his injury was so severe that it messed up his skull permanently. Also, I just learned that triplets have thinner skulls than average (The more you know!) and he's a triplet.

Keeley was 30 in the first season. Roy was I think 38(?). And Jamie was 23.
So, season 3 would most likely be: Keeley = 32-33, Roy=40-41, and Jamie = 25-26
In season 1 keeley said "I'm almost 30 and I'm still dating a 23 year old footballer."
So realistically you could assume keeley was 29 in season 1 and Jamie was 23. Roy was at the end of his career but still playing football in season 1. So mid to late 30s. Now in season 3 you could assume 2 years have passed. Jamie 25 / Keeley 31 / Roy Late 30s perhaps 40.
Jaime is a baby! He’s like 23, Keeley is around 30-32, and Roy is early 40s.
For the ages of the Characters, Keely is 5-6 years older than Jamie. Since in the first season she talked about being 18 and dating a 23 year old footballer (Unknown), then she was "almost 30 and again dating a 23 year old footballer (Jamie). So if she's 18 or 19 when she starts doing those suggestive photoshoots then Jamie is probably like 13-14 when he gets that poster of her. For Roy to be on his wall he has to have at the very least established some noteriety in the Football world. Probably mid to late twenties and for the sake of my argument I'll say 25-27. at that time If all this holds true then in season 1 Jamie is 23, Keeley is 29, and therefore Roy Kent is between 35-37. Thank you for your time.

Good God Hannah Waddingham is a real looker. So well put together. Excellent character in this amazing and wickedly too short show. And Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudakis are equally amazing at their craft.
Pep's cameo was great, even more surprising that Henry's guest appearances.
You should watch 'The Damned United' at some point if you want a closer look into the atmosphere of the game as well as seeing some fine work by Martin Sheen.

There is still a 'conspiracy theory' in the fan community about this one. Roy meets Jamie's mom and just says, "..hey, you.." Sooo...who's Jamie's 'real dad'? I'm personally not convinced, but sure seems like Roy knows the woman from somewhere in the past.. 🤣
Aw man... You guys cut the hell out of this episode of so many scenes that I believe would have had great reactions. Calvin sounded bitter when Jamie's dad was revealed to be in rehab... Funniest scene is Jamie breaking down on Roy.
I love pop-ins, we used to do them all the time and suddenly now we don’t answer the phone, we hate the doorbell ringing and we hate surprises…what’s happened to us? This weird collective decline of interaction is odd.
I think it's a culture thing; some folks in my family have always done them, some have never done them. Now that I have my phone with me all the time, I always try to text ahead of time.

He’s definitely in rehab. There’s a sign on the wall that I remember seeing my second watch through of the series. I think the slowness is just due to emotion.
