In the West End of 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) take on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.

If you didn’t get the reference, the line “He was a real hound, inspector” is a nod to Tom Stoppard’s play “The Real Inspector Hound” which is based off the Mousetrap and there’s someone by the name of Inspector Stoppard

Why was Inspector Stoppard whistling “Three Blind Mice” is it a red herring because the murderer in The Mousetrap whistles that very same tune
I’m guessing because the title of the movie is a line from the nursery rhyme.
