I do have a quick question about splash damage. Say if someone rocket runs the behemoth gates, won’t all the other 50 behemoth gates in the same spot take the same splash damage?

Its easier to drop foundations if you do it like this: 1. Place foundation 2. Place Pillar through center of foundation 3. Pickup Foundation 4. Place foundation (automatically snaps to the side of the pillar dropped) 5. Be happy you never have to fuss with one less ark bug. Also, you can stack vaults in front of your behemoth gates if you want to REALLY piss people off.
Edit I built in this last wipe and had some fun pvp against raiders me and my friend, a 2 man on a 4 man server got alpha and owned rag, my other friends took oil and held that all wipe and were almost as good as us.
I have a really good base design I use. Last time it took six tribes 3 months of non stop raiding to get into. It's heavy on the resources and requires a steady hand with the movement settings turned down to make. I use every building trick I know. This guy is correct. Make it so resource intensive to raid that most people give up or run out of explosives.
Karlo R too bad are is just a money machine now for the devs and they don’t give a shit about pvp and they game on console feels like it’s being played thru a browser and the only way to excel at the game is to play more than you sleep every day for days on end
I actually found a way to make invincible walls it's to use that sink in a cab and build above said cave with large walls to get about 72K HP per single wall them just spam these same behemoths to become a c c e n d e d
Probably only the last tip is useful. The first tip just means that instead of taking out the foundations you take out the first layer of walls. Spamming metal behemoths is way too much grind for it to just get taken out by two c4 or mek/arthro; and you can only spam behemoths with no clip. Vault dropping a gen usually isn't needed if you place your tek gen right. Good builds are mostly about placement and not how spammed off they are
I love the behemoth gate idea except for the fact that I have no idea how am I going to get out of there? Like if I completely wall off the exit to where they can’t get in with this technique how do I get out?

Been playing ark for close to 5 years been in mega tribes played on dedi servers and never in my life have I thought about that behe method while takin a break from offi and playing dedi I usually just vault drop my d-walls and towers gonna try this next time Ik arkin it up
With number four, the foundations under the water, that’s a great idea to expand the build but you should probably include the fact that you can definitely be cheaper with that technique. You don’t have to layer the entire floor with foundation. You could actually skipped two foundation spot between each one to do this build
Lift one player wide gap in the wall by leaving one foundation at reg height and snapping to that and make a crouch spot with a full turret hallway also use the vault drop trap if someone blows the door to drop vaults in the way(place like 30 vaults on a thatch ceiling and hit it a few times so its one hit) and put raptor on aggressive so they can pounce people off small dinos
instead of using the behemoth gate trick i would recommend stacked vault drop because you can have vaults inside of each other and they have much more hp
I recommend the floating ceiling glitch with pillars instead of foundations it’s a lot cheaper, all you do is find the lowest point of the ground and spam pillars all around, then you build one high pillar up and you can build ceilings anywhere you wants however high you want all you have to do is build the one high pillar as tall as you’d like !
Lowering foundations are way easier done using just pillars btw, throw down a piller and you'll notice that there is different snaps, a normal 1x1 foundations width and then there is an option to put it so close, that even players cant pass through. I'll refer to that as a "half snap" when you place the piller with the short distance it might be a bit tricky to place proper sometimes, but bump the snap (r1 on ps4) and the pillar gets lowered a certain amount. this way is less space consuming, and with say 6 pillars in a line, a boat should be imbedded. its 10 times faster and easier ;) *Note the "half" snap is only possible to get snapping, in two directions. however there is a workaround that as well. use fence foundations, form a 90 degree shape. that will align the "half" snap directions for building say a square fence around your builds..
Mek or arthro with 6x will make short work of the gates no matter how many you add and won't cost my anything but slightly longer. Especially if you have 2000% dmg arthros with imprint, it's like 1 bite per gate .

Personally I think that vaults would be better than behe gates. With the behes most of the hatch frame is exposed. The behes won't matter if the hatchframes are destroyed. Plus meks could hit all of gateframes at once.

I did not say they couldn't be destroyed as everything in ark can be The point was slowing raiders down. A standard kill walk would fall faster the a kill wall with 100 beh gates on it!! Mek or no mek its all about making the raid take longer. I used the method yesterday on dedi with no issue But don't forget it all needs to be the same snap point, So if you've started with a foundation ceiling off of it and then pillar down and go from there Or if you've gone straight from a piller then that's the snap point to use
Quick tip: if you place a pillar on top of the roof them start building down from that, you can break the top pillar and no pillars will be sticking up from the rooves.

Hey man just a tip and I know for the most part this is common knowledge, but instead of using behemoth gates wasting resources along the way that could of gone to other things, how about you just vault drop? It can create lots more hp and a lot less resources
Hi yea on official vaults would be quicker but think of things this way Once you've vault dropped from top to bottom that's all you could add to strengthen the wall, With beh gates its unlimited Think if you added let's say 20 behs a week and had the same spot for say 6 months that would then be a minimum of 500 behs that need to be destroyed before even getting into your base

I'm not trying to be rude to you personally because on official i know this personally as i used to be apart of a relatively big tribe on smalls, our goals were outputting over 1400 metal structures, 10 vaults, 5 clif plats, etc in one day. I know unofficial is a lot more chill, and it completely fair and understandable if you dont even approach those numbers, however even casual play, 100 behemoths ez, its only 3.5 slots caps of metal, cp farmed on rag and boom, you can do that all in one day if you're prepared to spend over 6 hours xD. However, i still dont think behemoths are the way to go, i personally believe that resources should be allocated to other things, like i said before, vaults are the way to go along with spam, more turret towers and getting those war vaults filled up. Besides, smart tribes can still get into those kinds of defences, you would be very suprised lol. Again, no hate, you can play how you want to play, this is undoubtedly just my opinion, i just want to shed some light on smarter ways to build.
For the 4th tip, you dont even need a pillar. You can get away with walls snapped to the edges of the foundations. However i would say to have more than one set of walls/pillars placed because if you only have one set and it gets destroyed the whole floor collapses.
Btw i would advise to place atleast 3 vaults per gen just because you can still destroy the gen through the foundation and vault because of the corners thats how i raided big tribes
idk if you know this but on ark small tribes real tribes are apart of trading discords... and on trading discords you can just buy 100 c4 for $1..... any real tribe isnt going to be stopped by behemoth gates. no matter how many. some people even sell for less lol. and did u forget about arthro's/Meks? would be so easy to get the gates low and move away and then place c4. even if u werent wanting to buy c4 its not hard to craft lol. no one raids bigass bases without substantial amount of c4. not to mention no bob tribe is going to be able to make 100 behemoth gates so easily. therefore youre going to have to be a big tribe to even do this method lol. meaning anyone raiding u is going to be super thick. they wont leave because they dont have enough c4 lmao
just saying, dropping foundations for a death wall is useless, foundys take 5 c4 and walls take 3. you would have the wall before the foundy. also the splash damage would destroy most of the behemoth gates at once
Hi depends where you've built, and if you on official or not? I believe on official you cant place as many beh gates? Because they won't snap the same And what kind of entrance are you blocking? So with a small entrance vault dropping you could only get say 1 or 2 rows meaning a raider would only really need to demo 2 vaults and they're in In that case I would say the beh trick is better because you could stack 100 beh gates there instead of 2 vaults
On official there was one time i was tranfering around to tame things and i died and glitched thru the map.. Amazingly i saw a base under the map.. I couldnt believe my eyes... So i went back and toggle orbital camera laid on the ground and look underground and there it was .. A huge metal base all built under the map... Can soneone tell me how was this possible?
Its known as meshing or Undermapping Back on legacy it was a big thing as most players couldn't get to the mesh bases so the onwers could never be raided I recommend when ever you see something built in the mesh report it to the devs

Re tested a few days ago The under layers do not take any splash damage from the top layers :) Which means raiders will need to go through layer by layer There for slowing them down compared to having just a wall
the behe gates are not worth because if you put c4 on the ground next the behe if in cave it's 6x so almost ever single behe near where the c4 was placed gets destroyed better vault dropping your death wall
thats why you have a secret stash spot nearby with a bed. build near water and drop a vault underwater with a hidden bed on shore. teleport to bed and grab ur kits and viola. check every day that you still have beds up.

C4 at best would only destroy 3 at a time

Yep unofficial is easier to do these methods But they do still work on official It will take more time yes as everything dose with official BUT if you can go long enough without being raided then it is possible
I do want to let you know there is a much easier way to Sink foundations. Instead of using a foundation then a pillar then a foundation then a pillar than a foundation and so on… Just go back-and-forth with 2 pillars by themselves because they will lower each other a lot easier and then use a foundation when you get the desired level

A example I can give is trip waterfall the large entrance Going through the waterfall at the inside edge end (b4 dropping down into the base) There I was able to fully build a death all fully beh gated but looking inwards on the right hand side I left a small gap I could walk in and out of, and then 2 foundations back from the last beh gate i put my dino gates/doors So from a raiders point of view they needed to take the whole wall but for me I could just about walk around it
You're on your own server with no clip. Large walls can be used extremely effectively, massively increasing hp of a wall. I came up with this idea, you won't find any videos on it.
Far too difficult to explain and I don't do instruction videos. You will have to keep practicing. All I can say is you have to multilayer and use them in combination with normal walls or they will all collapse.

Good video mate, tip 4 also works with single pillars on the bottom instead of foundations to do it cheaper.

Would be good if you could show tests with C4, I'm pretty sure c4 can splash through those behemoth gates and damage all of them at once
That's not true! Tests with C4 have been done by others, person who made the video was just passing the info along

Just use stairs , snap foundations to them. Pick up the stairs this will give foundation support. No cliff platform No pillars.
Sinking foundations by the way, if you take out the first foundation and leave the pillar, the snap will automatically be lower
You can place foundations in the water. There's a method to do it though

Btw i would advise to place atleast 3 vaults per gen just because you can still destroy the gen through the foundation and vault because of the corners thats how i raided big tribes

idk if you know this but on ark small tribes real tribes are apart of trading discords... and on trading discords you can just buy 100 c4 for $1..... any real tribe isnt going to be stopped by behemoth gates. no matter how many. some people even sell for less lol. and did u forget about arthro's/Meks? would be so easy to get the gates low and move away and then place c4. even if u werent wanting to buy c4 its not hard to craft lol. no one raids bigass bases without substantial amount of c4. not to mention no bob tribe is going to be able to make 100 behemoth gates so easily. therefore youre going to have to be a big tribe to even do this method lol. meaning anyone raiding u is going to be super thick. they wont leave because they dont have enough c4 lmao

just saying, dropping foundations for a death wall is useless, foundys take 5 c4 and walls take 3. you would have the wall before the foundy. also the splash damage would destroy most of the behemoth gates at once
C4 or rockets MIGHT not splash all behemoths but I know an arthro or mek would eat through it just as fast a 1 behemoth

I believe on official you cant place as many beh gates? Because they won't snap the same
And what kind of entrance are you blocking?
So with a small entrance vault dropping you could only get say 1 or 2 rows meaning a raider would only really need to demo 2 vaults and they're in
In that case I would say the beh trick is better because you could stack 100 beh gates there instead of 2 vaults
Vault drop is 100x better, ever seen a base with layered behe gates lmaoo
On official there was one time i was tranfering around to tame things and i died and glitched thru the map.. Amazingly i saw a base under the map.. I couldnt believe my eyes... So i went back and toggle orbital camera laid on the ground and look underground and there it was .. A huge metal base all built under the map... Can soneone tell me how was this possible?
Its known as meshing or Undermapping
Back on legacy it was a big thing as most players couldn't get to the mesh bases so the onwers could never be raided
I recommend when ever you see something built in the mesh report it to the devs

I’m just trying to aim for my best to have so many tourists it looks hello the second your rock go on goes in there five seconds it’s gone I’m gonna build massive sky defence towers and put many towers and turrets on top of my base and then I’m gonna work on putting so many turrets around my base you have to be at So far away that it will take too long so you can’t attack from the top or bottom

Re tested a few days ago
The under layers do not take any splash damage from the top layers :)
Which means raiders will need to go through layer by layer
There for slowing them down compared to having just a wall
the behe gates are not worth because if you put c4 on the ground next the behe if in cave it's 6x so almost ever single behe near where the c4 was placed gets destroyed better vault dropping your death wall

Problem with behemothstacking your wall is it essentially makes it so you cant defend your wall while its being soaked.
thats why you have a secret stash spot nearby with a bed. build near water and drop a vault underwater with a hidden bed on shore. teleport to bed and grab ur kits and viola. check every day that you still have beds up.

And yes c4 could eventually destroy them but what if all the beh gates was in stacks on 100 each? C4 at best would only destroy 3 at a time

Or if you snap a second row of foundations behind the gates, you should be able to have a secret door roughly 2 foundations short of the beh gates and out of site
But that also depends on where you've built and how
so useful.
Also the underwater it's cheaper to use pillars
It may be cheaper but the foundations are stronger, make it more tidy and you have more room

For the ceiling one why not lower foundations extremely low so they can still be damaged but can’t or can barely be seen so they don’t try

The problem is your stuck in your base or can you transport out?

You would then need a few tp around the map to get in and out
Or if you check out the remastered video it shows a few ways to build in hidden doors etc

Either b alittle more creative and try to build a door that can't be seen from the outside or rely on teleporters around the map (hidden) to get in and out

Some good tips but the behemoth one is pointless if Ur in a cave it's 6x so they would all drop together no matter how many you stack

I do want to let you know there is a much easier way to Sink foundations. Instead of using a foundation then a pillar then a foundation then a pillar than a foundation and so on… Just go back-and-forth with 2 pillars by themselves because they will lower each other a lot easier and then use a foundation when you get the desired level

At the end if the pillar is destroyed the ceils fall right ?

Hi with the beh gate trick you need to be alittle more creative
So a hidden door behind the gates (that cant be seen from the out side) or use a normal door but would need to keep that part beh free so it would be a weak point but not as weak as if you left the whole wall un beh gated
The other thing is (mostly on unofficial) block the entrance fully and rely on teleporters to get in and out of the base

A example I can give is trip waterfall the large entrance
Going through the waterfall at the inside edge end (b4 dropping down into the base)
There I was able to fully build a death all fully beh gated but looking inwards on the right hand side I left a small gap I could walk in and out of, and then 2 foundations back from the last beh gate i put my dino gates/doors
So from a raiders point of view they needed to take the whole wall but for me I could just about walk around it
You're on your own server with no clip. Large walls can be used extremely effectively, massively increasing hp of a wall. I came up with this idea, you won't find any videos on it.

Far too difficult to explain and I don't do instruction videos. You will have to keep practicing. All I can say is you have to multilayer and use them in combination with normal walls or they will all collapse.
