We experienced hardship as kids. We had nothing to eat and we had to borrow rice from neighbours. We had no money and we were relying on rations from our relatives. I come from a big family of 10 and we lost our father when we were still very young. My mom was a single parent since she was 32 years old. We learned how to work in the farm of other people to earn a living. My older siblings go everywhere looking for farm job. I think the only thing that was keeping us together intact was our resilience and optimism that everything will be alright. Plus we had a bit of luck on our side because our relatives are also very helpful. Now, I am 47 years old with stable job, I couldn't thank God enough for my life that I am still alive and able to help my siblings and my mother. Perseverance, determination, optimism, faith in God and being a responsible person will help you in life.
I am from South Africa and I watch your channel everyday. Thank you to each and everyone helping the poor. I salute you! Just a tiny suggestion, each and every family you visit have no food to eat and the children are crying of hunger. Won't it be advisable to take something to eat for the family before you interview them? That way no one will go hungry until you provide food for them. Just a suggestion.
Very true. I was brought up in Malaysia then later I moved to UK.. You will very seldom see children of school age around in towns etc cos all children have to attend school. Mandatory. Education paid by taxpayers and children do get free meals if parents are on benefits. The Philippine Govt should make education mandatory, free healthcare for all.

🌻I do hope that this girl can continue to support her family. It is very sad to see such poverty. Sadly, family planning is very much needed in communities where starvation and poverty are growing, instead of healthy and happy children. Contraception is definitely what should be advised to use in theses communities.

They can’t afford to buy food, how do you think they could afford to buy birth control methods? Their government doesn’t have a family planning program and family planning is looked down upon by the Catholic Church in the Philippines so there are no programs to provide free birth control. Simply “not having sex” isn’t a solution. I don’t see why people have such a hard time understanding this. Without birth control methods, it’s inevitable that this will continue.

I also married at 19, my husband 21 yrs. old and have 3 children but we both worked hard, as we don’t want our children to suffer and have a difficult life, so dapat kung pinasok nyo ung ganyan, manindigan kyo, magsîkap para sa pamilya. I'm teary eyes seeing these kids crying for hunger it's just sad that the government doesn't care about these ppl,I prayed God you may send help to all these ppl who r suffering take them out of these terrible poverty no one should live like especially those innocent children..
I remember when I was about 9 yrs old my great grandmother passed away in Chicago IL USA. She was 92. We had relatives fly in from the Philippines my uncle Honesto paid for cousins to come say goodbye I remember that was the first time in my life that I realized how lucky I was.. and between my cousins in the US I'm considered the unfortunate one who was abandoned by my mom and raised between my grandma's and uncles and aunts.. on hand me downs. My mom is the youngest of 9. I giggled at my maybe pre teen aged cousins who didnt know how to use our toilets and how they were amazed by our sinks, the running clean water! Toilet paper.. They were so excited for snickers candy bars I swear it was like Christmas to them! They were so greatful.. much more than I was ever. I finally understand first hand how much different my privileged life is just because of where I was born. So much easier from theirs.

They dont know better... they are not raised to do better. Stop assuming these people have the same things in life that you do! You cant work where there is no work. Most of the very poor are cast out from the middle class places to work. If you have no work there are food banks and soup kitchens. Government money welfare.. homeless shelters.. they have NO HELP FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT heck you can make $50 a day just begging on the streets but in a sea of poor people you're lucky to receive some rice or a few pesos! Think outside of your first world eyes.

This young mother is so struck with emotion that she can't even speak. A mother's instinctive relief that her children will finally eat today and tomorrow. With her present situation what she's seeing before her eyes is like Manna from heaven. Moreover, difficult memories are flooding in her mind of the mistreatment in her youth, and now suddenly realizing that she's not a "bad luck" nor a "curse" as her parents labeled her to be. Hello Mark and fellow comrades! I have been following your channel and your work for a few years now. I think what you guys do takes a lot of love, and courage. Even though I don't agree on some of your political views. I truly admire what you are doing here for these family that are seeking hope. I love the fact that you don't just preach about what you believe but, you actually go out there and show it through action. Action speaks more volume than anything....although there are people that don't agree with the way you are helping these folks. I say forget the nay Sayers, those people can speak from behind their computers and keyboards and tell you what and what not to do but, they won't have the courage to even go help those in need in their neighborhoods. You have changed these families lives forever even if they succeed or not. For sure they can say that, there was a moment in their life when someone cared enough to come in and helped them. keep up the great work and press on forward. You have a great team and I have seen how much Caesar and his group have improved as well. Thank you for not judging these families and just continuing to love and help them because of their circumstances.

Dear everyone - for those of you that preach about having less children: the Catholic religion is strong in this area and does not condone birth control. Add to that, these folks are not very educated. Family planning is not widely available. If I am wrong, please correct me. Our Western logic does not work well here. Thanks for the great video!
It is so heartbreaking to see how many people judge poor people having kids. Poverty is designed (for them to stay poor by your own government.) There are more people who are running this world called "elites". They don't care about anyone. For those who are judging this family, I hope that when you have your own children or if you already have...that you are able to feed them and raise them. Don't be so sure that your job or income is stable because in reality, everyone are paycheck away from being homeless or losing everything you have. Pray for them rather than put them down. Education is the key, if they know better they will do better. Do not judge people who are not able to go to school either. Being able to go to school is a privilege in this country and not everyone are fortunate to experience that. Have some compassion. God says only speak with edification and for the good sake of others. If you cannot do anything for them to help, at least be silent. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all.

not much because people from the village have no money and therefore borrow. As a result, they are ultimately unable to buy stock and the store breaks down

Mark some viewers such as myself who do not understand the Filipino language would like to understand everything that is being said. Your videos before had subtitles for everything being said. If it's a time thing where you don't have enough time to do it yourself i'm sure you can hire someone to do it for you in the Philippines who understands English well. I'm teary eyes seeing these kids crying for hunger it's just sad that the government doesn't care about these ppl,I prayed God you may send help to all these ppl who r suffering take them out of these terrible poverty no one should live like especially those innocent children..
I remember when I was about 9 yrs old my great grandmother passed away in Chicago IL USA. She was 92. We had relatives fly in from the Philippines my uncle Honesto paid for cousins to come say goodbye I remember that was the first time in my life that I realized how lucky I was.. and between my cousins in the US I'm considered the unfortunate one who was abandoned by my mom and raised between my grandma's and uncles and aunts.. on hand me downs. My mom is the youngest of 9. I giggled at my maybe pre teen aged cousins who didnt know how to use our toilets and how they were amazed by our sinks, the running clean water! Toilet paper.. They were so excited for snickers candy bars I swear it was like Christmas to them! They were so greatful.. much more than I was ever. I finally understand first hand how much different my privileged life is just because of where I was born. So much easier from theirs.

Government money welfare.. homeless shelters.. they have NO HELP FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT heck you can make $50 a day just begging on the streets but in a sea of poor people you're lucky to receive some rice or a few pesos!

This young mother is so struck with emotion that she can't even speak. A mother's instinctive relief that her children will finally eat today and tomorrow. With her present situation what she's seeing before her eyes is like Manna from heaven. Moreover, difficult memories are flooding in her mind of the mistreatment in her youth, and now suddenly realizing that she's not a "bad luck" nor a "curse" as her parents labeled her to be. And now she knows that all these years God has not forgotten her.

My heart bleeds for these family. They need to learn how to plant vegetables in their backyard. Even grow malunggay make soup out of it it’s more nutritious than soy sauce and oil.
This isnt always so easy there becoz most people dont own a place for planting vegetables or have a garden like place at their property.

I have been following your channel and your work for a few years now. I think what you guys do takes a lot of love, and courage. Even though I don't agree on some of your political views. I truly admire what you are doing here for these family that are seeking hope. I love the fact that you don't just preach about what you believe but, you actually go out there and show it through action. Action speaks more volume than anything....although there are people that don't agree with the way you are helping these folks. I say forget the nay Sayers, those people can speak from behind their computers and keyboards and tell you what and what not to do but, they won't have the courage to even go help those in need in their neighborhoods. You have changed these families lives forever even if they succeed or not.
For sure they can say that, there was a moment in their life when someone cared enough to come in and helped them. keep up the great work and press on forward. You have a great team and I have seen how much Caesar and his group have improved as well. Dear everyone - for those of you that preach about having less children: the Catholic religion is strong in this area and does not condone birth control. Add to that, these folks are not very educated. Family planning is not widely available. If I am wrong, please correct me. Our Western logic does not work well here. Thanks for the great video!

It is so heartbreaking to see how many people judge poor people having kids. Poverty is designed (for them to stay poor by your own government.) There are more people who are running this world called "elites". They don't care about anyone. For those who are judging this family, I hope that when you have your own children or if you already have...that you are able to feed them and raise them. Don't be so sure that your job or income is stable because in reality, everyone are paycheck away from being homeless or losing everything you have. Pray for them rather than put them down. Education is the key, if they know better they will do better. Do not judge people who are not able to go to school either. Being able to go to school is a privilege in this country and not everyone are fortunate to experience that. Have some compassion. God says only speak with edification and for the good sake of others. If you cannot do anything for them to help, at least be silent. If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all.

Mark some viewers such as myself who do not understand the Filipino language would like to understand everything that is being said. Your videos before had subtitles for everything being said. If it's a time thing where you don't have enough time to do it yourself i'm sure you can hire someone to do it for you in the Philippines who understands English well. Please add subtitles for everything being said as it is being spoken
It was mentioned a few videos back that he would only add what is important. Usually it's all repetitive, as he has stated before. Hope this helps.
