I pray that the Lord continues to show us what He wants us to do with this disease. The question is not why me, but truly why not me!! Thank you for your wisdom and heart for sharing!!!!! You have re-ignited the embers of my purpose!!!!❤

I just watched this. I can relate, but to a different level.
I am an autistic OT. I found out my diagnosis during my time in OT school. When I found out my diagnosis, I had a series of questions about my future. It took me a year to find another autistic person in the field back in 2011. I found that person through navigating autism support group pages online… not through a referral from a professional colleague. That experience helped me made my own pledge- I want to be able to help someone like myself in similar position in OT. I want to be a ray of hope that everyone in that situation can see. So, after I talked to that autistic occupational therapist in summer 2011, I pledged that I would do the best I can to finish the student portion of my journey strong and be a licensed occupational therapist myself. Then, I will try to help whoever come my way, no matter how busy I already am. I know that if I can impact even one’s career trajectory in this instance, I know I have done really well.
Sure, my work in helping autistic OT students is more of a passion project nowadays. But, I like to help these students, particular knowing that some of them went through similar things like I did. Although I experienced some blunders along the way, my professional successes were important for my mentees to realize that they can succeed… just that they might have to encounter some bumps along the road sometimes.

I really like this video. I really gave me hope and encourage me to cope with being in perimenopause in my late 30s. I was diagnosed with being in the menopause transition and it came as a shock to me because I thought I had enough time to do the things I wanted to do and then I'll settle down and get married and have children. I even thought that being in perimenpoause only happens when a woman reaches her middle 40s or in her 50s. Unfortunately, not for me! I'd read tons of articles and books and they all say that a woman can enter perimenopause as early as her middle 30s. Wow! I admit that I was in denial at first, and try to not really believe the test results and second opinion from my primary doctor and my OBGYN. But as months went on, by June of this year, I had to officially accept that I am going through the change and that I didn't have all the time in the world and that my body is different now and I couldn't do certain things anymore like I did in the past. I realized that I actually have to start taking care of myself or suffer a miserable life and be in and out of hospitals until I die. I still have goals to do things in life, but I'm not going to let that fact that my body is changing change my mind. I'm a pretty resilient person and I can adapt to any situation pretty good. I just need to make sure now that I take care of myself and really listen and do what my doctor says for now on and I've learned to kicked out people who are intoxicating to me out of my life and say no to anyone or anything that is going to create a stressful and toxic situation for me because I don't need it and don't want it. And this experience has taught me what is important in life and the ones who truly got my back. My mother, before she passed away, always told me that you are not going to be young forever and things that she told me not to do and to do, even though I didn't understand it, you will understand and appreciate when you get older. It's funny because she was right and I get it now.

Many times it isn't luck just the natural way the world is set up to be against you--and everyone else. This week I have been advising my subscribers on how to prepare for bad luck. There is an old adage that states that bad luck happens to everyone--the difference between those who succeed and those who collapse is how you react to it. That really irritates someone when they are in the middle of an episode of bad luck--myself included. But it is true. You can't keep bad luck from happening to you--but you can prepare in advance. What you do is first look at the worst it can get. Example--last year I was smart and bought oil stocks when it was low--and then it kept getting crushed. I pictured the worst case scenario--the whole stock market goes, banks fail and now I'm with about enough to buy one Big Mac. And I prepared what I would do. Contract out in my profession, live minimalistic like I did when I was a student and build for a decade. If it wasn't enough to retire with social security then move to a third world country. I would be fine and better than my ancestors. And the worst didn't happen---I kept calm, implemented my plan of moving the stocks over to other assets and everything not only recovered but I gained some profit. Not as much as I hoped but I survived and was even better off. So, end point--you see a storm coming, you look for the worst it can get, implement a plan and you will survive what life throws at you. Hope this helps someone--Charles

In the book of James 1 v 4 it tells us "let endurance complete its work" In the bible, enduring means more than simply putting up with trials or adversity. Endurance involves our mind and heart, or the way we react to hardships. A person who endures, manifests courage, steadfastness and patience. Endurance is "the spirit that can bear things, not simply with resignation, but with blazing hope," says one reference work. "It is the quality which keeps a man on his feet with his face to the wind. It is the virtue which can trans- mute the hardest trial into glory, because beyond the pain it sees the goal." Christian endurance is motivated by love (1 Corinthians 13 v 4, 7) Love for God motivates us to endure anything in harmony with his will (Luke 22 v 41, 42) Love for our fellow brothers helps us to endure their imperfections (1 Peter 4 v 8) Love for our marriage mates enables us to endure under "tribulation" that even happily married couple experience, and to strengthen the marital bond (1 Corinthians 7 v 28)
