Pervious Concrete installation for the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea . This concrete slab was installed by Burns and Sons Concrete (NRMCA Certified Craftsman) and the concrete was delivered by Titan Concrete. Prior to installation, the street was flooded every time it rained since no stormwater mitigation existed. Now, with the new Pervious Concrete pavement the stormwater is drained to the water-table at a rate of 3-5 gallons/sf per minute.
Using Pervious Concrete pavement in your parking lot can reduce the need for
large retention ponds because the pavement acts as a retention area. Lot owners
will spend fewer dollars on labor, construction and maintenance of retention ponds,
and other stormwater management systems.Expensive irrigation systems can also be downsized or eliminated.
Benefits of Pervious Concrete:
- Reduces stormwater runoff
- Eliminates need for retention ponds and other costly stormwater management practices
- Replenishes water tables and aquifers
- Allows for more efficient land development
- Minimizes flash flooding and standing water
- Prevents warm and polluted water from entering our streams
- Mitigates surface pollutants

3 parts rock
1 part loose cement
just enough water
