I enjoy your videos, although I will admit that I am often intimidated because I can barely pronounce the names of my 15 hoyas. I used to have a LOT of plants, and then needed to move into a small apartment. My hoyas love my east facing window & the rest of my plants do well in the north facing window. No room for a tent, but I do use grow lights and a couple humidifiers. I'm now 67 years old, have two bad knees that have me walking with cane or walker. And there's no way I can even wash my windows like I used to. So, tonight, I did manage to trellis my macrophylla...thankful to get one little plant chore done. My few babies seem to be thriving at the moment, so I will be grateful. Thank you for your enjoyable videos!!! 🪴
i potted up a bunch of cuttings while watching this video. I also looked at a bunch of pots that needed to be cleaned and yes, they need to be cleaned!
I enjoyed seeing grandmas and papa’s clematis and rose. Your wee clematis is adorable! After the video I started my neglected repot chores with a bit more enthusiasm…..thank you 💚💚💚
Hi Miro! You mention a lot about the oil and something mectin that you use to treat your Hoyas! Can you make a video about those two? I would love to learn about them! Thanks!
I’d love to see that video on your preventative flat mite treatment. I hope you were ok after your fall!! I cut up my caudata big green leaves and put the cuttings in one pot, and now it’s so much messier looking than when it was all one plant trellised. The leaves look like scindapsus leaves all climbing over each over in the pot.
Hey Miro. Thanks for taking us along for the plant chores journey. It's been a joy listening to you. While enjoying the video I've finished planting some vegetables (in trays, for succession planting) and did a treatment for fungus gnats in my grow light/seed starting setup. I probably hate fungus gnats as much as you hated cleaning out those pots 😂
Oh fungus gnats! I haven't had those in a while. (I bet tomorrow thousands will hatch just because I said this XD) Washing out the pots was not so bad, just very boring :D I mean, I guess you are right. Gnats are too 😂
Thanks for the video. I just ate some soup while watching you work. I love those big purple flowers outside. Gorgeous. Im kind of tired today so can’t think of much else to say. I love your humor, hair and soft brown eyes. Have a good week. 🌱💚🌱
I hope you enjoyed your soup :) Oh I know those days when you run out of words and brain capacity :D I have those as well! Even I sometimes am out of words, can you believe it? 😂
Wonderful video! I loved your outdoor garden too! How warm do you get there in the summer? Very pretty clematis varieties! I have been replanting hoyas that came in the wrong type of soil! You gave me courage!! I also am just loving seeing my cuttings I got a month ago rooted and growing new leaves!! One is snow caps too!! And my 3 1/2 year old grandson loved your plants too!!!
Wow I was so surprised when you mentioned Veronika 🙈 Im from Hungary and I see her in many facebook groups and I think not directly but I bought some of her hoya cuttings too
Oh Miro! Thank you for another entertaining video! I didn't get anything done because I am a new mom to a 7 week old kitten, George. If I actually brush my teeth its a successful day! 😂😂😂😂😂😉😻
Miro. You did great on your plant chores. What a lot of work. My multiflora is blooming again. It is the only hoya that has bloomed for me. I think I can safely challenge you for the title of “worst trellis jobs”. Your plants are very beautiful, inside and out.
I ran into a small plant shop in Yonkers NY while on a crappy mission and you were brought to mind when I wandered into an unexpected room, filled with baby Hoyas. It was still a horrible trip, but at least I got a tiny carnosa compacta and gracilis/memoria (whatever).
Love veiny Hoyas! Would you show us how you do your treatment with paraffin (is that how you write it?) oil? Or explain with more detail? Please please please? Thanxs! Greatings from Mexico city 🤗
I've been obsessed with Hoya Pubicalyx Pink Silver Ghost since i saw it on Instagram. I need them to make it over to canada like right now!!!! uuggh its so pretty!
I hope they make it there soon! Pink Silver Ghost was sooooo expensive when it showed up but I managed to get a very VERY good deal :D it's quite pretty :)
@@BasiePlants yeah right now Ive found one listing for about 200-300 CAD and its just an import! hopefully more people will get them and i can just ship it across the country and not the world ^^
I think I prefer watching you do these chores than doing my own😂. Although you have me terrified I will not be able to ignore my lack of trellises. Nope that is not me ignoring all the vines going everywhere, nope no vines going crazy here. 😙
Hahaha :D I would also prefer to watch someone else do these chores xD Oh, don't worry, even with trellises they get tangled up... Even when they have their own trellis, they choose to twine around the one in the next pot. They like to mock us :D
Great video. I too have spent the past three days doing hoya chores. I love seeing the personal side of you. It makes you seem real. When are you going to ship to USA. And I bet am not the only one who would love to buy your hoya. While cleaning up the plants I discovered more peduncals that I didn't even know about. I do baby my hoya so I am so pleased to see that it is paying off. I have been sterilizing my potting mix in the microwave..Does that really work? Ignore spelling its been a long day.
Oh, first I would have to start shipping to EU :D I think that would take some time, but who knows :) Oh, on which hoyas did you discover peduncles? Hm, I have not heard of sterilizing in the microwave, but perhaps it does work! I know people do it in regular ovens on 250 degrees Celsius. But I think anything over 100 kills anything that may live there and it is safe to reuse. I only sterilize pon before reusing old pon :)
@@BasiePlants I put approx 4 cups in the micro for 2 minutes and , temp was 200. Much easier for me and I will keep an eye on it. Most of them bought last May when I started. It is very exciting for me
Miro, I have a question! I've heard you mention something about Pubicalyx vs Pubicorolla and I'm confused. You've probably explained this once already by I can't seem find a post about it. What is the difference between these two hoya, or is Pubicalyx a name that is being phased out altogether and now they are all called Pubicorolla? (Thanks Hoya Hero!)
It is a very interesting and a bit complicated question :) Hoyas that we call today pubicalyx are cultivars or crosses, many with an unclear origin, and they don't match the type species for Hoya pubicalyx. During WWII, the holotype to pubicalyx was lost in the bombing of the herbarium in Manilla. While there is a description, the herbarium sheet is missing and without it, it is hard to say for sure what "true" pubicalyx looks like. There is word that there are isotypes of the herbarium sheet of pubicalyx in herbaria across the world, so now the work is to find those and establish one of them as the neotype. From everything I have read and seen, it seems that pubicorolla ssp. anthracina might the be 'true' pubicalyx. This is also a highly variable species, with flowers ranging from light pink to very dark burgundy color - unlike the one on pubicorolla 1-011. That other plant is pubicorolla ssp. pubicorolla and while flowers are similar, there are differences in the corona, and pubescence/ length of the peduncles :) Whether these will be separated and we will have both pubicalyx and pubicorolla in the future, or all will fall under pubicalyx (if the isotype is found and established as neotype) or it will all remain pubicorolla, I don't know. But I am hopeful they will clear up the species :)
A Miro is never late with uploading his videos. More importantly, he is never early either. 😅
Most importantly like Goldilocks, he is just right 🌿

Cleaning and disinfecting litter boxes. Exhausting but worth it. As always thanks for keeping it real about plant care!
Your videos give me motivation to do my plant chores. I am off to water my hoya tent now. Thank you!
Good luck! I am going to water my hoya wall :D
Only have 13 so far. Still new to plants so I want to make sure I can keep the less fussy Hoyas alive first!

Love these vlogs. The outside garden looks great ❤
Can’t wait to get the hoya cards. Love your Hoyas. I did plant watering and pot washing. Getting ready to put more plants in self watering pots.
