Amanda A. Suppose you still remember , along with another smash hit " Last Christmas" same time , swept across Europe maybe even the globe throughout the whole Christmas" month in 1984. Both manage to pass on , still luscious today. Deserve as the best modern Christmas songs beside the traditional ones.
me and a friend bought this single record from woolworths we bought 14 copies each paid for them then gave back 13 to the shop to re sell to help raise more money for the children , miss these days so much totp was epic and a big part of our growing up
That Christmas of 1984 I will always remember so fondly, it was so special 😊 Then Live Aid the following year 👏👏👏 The 80’s were the best time to be alive. I remember so many wonderful things. I would go back in a heartbeat ❤
I remember seeing this song be played on Top of pop in 1984 my son was 6 months old baby when he was in his baby chair listening to this song he rock up down in chair to music he nearly 40 year old now
Ah yes the ethipoians who were starving so much their population has tripled to 120 000 000 since this song was released. I dont remember any one writing a song for thr 100 000 English homeless at Christmas time in 1984.
Johnson & Johnson didn't want to let them call it "Band Aid". I'm glad a good Christmas song came out of the 80's from the rockers of that era. Cheers!
Sting, Spandau B, Status Quo, Boy George and CClub,, Simon Lebon, Paul Young,, Bananarama, Paul Weller, Phil Collins , Frankie goes to .., Marilin, The Comunards, entre tantos talentos 😍
This was on BBC FOUR the other day and I sure they said live in the studio special recording. But this really appears is the standard record playing in the background not new.
Quante stars tutte insieme.
2:44 Especially every time I listen here, I get energized It seems to be absolutely fun to sing while crossing shoulders together Covid 19 🦠When you calm down, do it all over the world
+FMTCH oh really? What a shame, I always associate the show with all things good about England, (minus the host whose name is associated with paedophilia).
brilliant song midge ure always hides away he should have been up front he made the song work he doesnt take credit when he sure deserves it bless him......they all did an amazing job boy george omg that hair :) he was happy thats the main thing bob thought the song revolved around him it did not you do not mime to someone elses voice thats just wrong period
This song really gave American artists a shock to their system. A lot of prominent black entertainers were ashamed at seeing a lot of white British artists doing what they should've done a long time ago.
1984 the greatest year ever, and greatest Christmas of all time. :)
Paul Weller became Bono ... superb!
All legends in one stage, mind blowing stuff. Deeply missed George Micheal here tho.
Bono too.
All My Favourite Popstar's Under One Roof....I Love This Song...Never Get Tired Of Listening To It Or Watching It....: )

paul weller miming bono is hilarious
👍 😂
and Sting ... :) 1:19
Paul Young, a beautiful man with a beautiful soulful voice~ (I'm a Duranie)
But his lines here are soulless.
y sus movimientos sexyss :)) 😁
Best song ever! Paul Young is my idol! And its my biggest memory from a time in my life in Scotland
they were all so young... mean we were....
Lol...yes...us too.
All legends and a massive part of my youth growing up :)
The best song *EVER!*wouldnt* be *xmas* without this *unforgettable*✨🎶✨
all togheter the stars of my best time!!! amazing video!!!
2:37 Nik freaking Kershaw
i only just noticed him! had no idea he was in the totp version
@@w0rmcvlt I didn't either at first
This is my favourite Christmas song of all
Can we just go back to 1984? Please!
That Christmas of 1984 I will always remember so fondly, it was so special 😊 Then Live Aid the following year 👏👏👏 The 80’s were the best time to be alive. I remember so many wonderful things. I would go back in a heartbeat ❤
Have to say, Boy George has the best singing voice of them all.
Horrible.
True and what's good about him is he always reinvents himself.
I would have to agree.
I remember seeing this song be played on Top of pop in 1984 my son was 6 months old baby when he was in his baby chair listening to this song he rock up down in chair to music he nearly 40 year old now
Fantastici!
paolo
Such a brilliant time.
rw: there 3 reasons why i love this song:1. it has meaning 2.its for a good cause for Etheopia and 3.its and all star cast.
4th reason: It's better than the 2004 and 2014 version combined
Ah yes the ethipoians who were starving so much their population has tripled to 120 000 000 since this song was released. I dont remember any one writing a song for thr 100 000 English homeless at Christmas time in 1984.
Watching all those brilliant, irreverent bands on stage together all these years later it's like being with my extended family.
Johnson & Johnson didn't want to let them call it "Band Aid". I'm glad a good Christmas song came out of the 80's from the rockers of that era. Cheers!
Top class song from the Brothers and Sisters from the 80's respect
amazing so many pop stars all together
Boy George is just so magical!! And those dreamy ice blue eyes! Just pure magic!
Get off. His whining voice sucks
My favourite christmas song with all the best artists of the 80's
It’s like the Avengers of UK 80s music! 🤩
Except no Adam Ant. Too bad he wasn't able to join.
Bob Geldof just got up from the bed!!
Bob had a lot on his plate.
With phil collins
😁😁😁
Spandeau Ballet guy is sooooooooo beautiful.
Still a fantastic song.
Boy George... Absolutely stunning!!
+1 if you see Jimmy Somerville who was also in the 1989 version.
Look Forward To This Song Every Christmas 🧐
But, so glad Boy George was there with his awesome singing and extras. Such a beautiful voice. And without Paul Young, it would have been horrible.
They both butchered the song. Listen the Midge's original. Thats a masterpiece.
Best times before the Internet
I'm 21 years old great times
Bloody hell what a studio to be in at the time.
Boy George Looooooks sooooo great
Absurd! Poor Paul Weller, the most sincere, least self seeking star of the Band Aid recording, here having to mime to Bono. Insufferable!
Because Bono missed.
They drew straws behind the scenes and Paul drew the shortest
Maybe if Bono had withdrawn his head from his arse he maybe would have appeared.....
@@amandawilson7412 😂
It is pretty funny though 😂
que bello que estaba Sting... 👍
El año más bello de la historia
🎉❤great year to remember❤🎉xXx
Still that luscious like then.
Simon Lebon of DURAN DURAN And Paul Young up front!.. love it!.

So great ☆☆☆ happy holidays to all
Outstanding, best song ever.
god how i miss the 80's. the best time old Blighty has or ever will experience especially compared to this fucking miserable time.
Outstanding!!!!
What a song..
2:37 Nick Kershaw..

Midge Ure should have been up front beside Paul young. My first Christmas 🎄
Paul weller is so cool
The best part is Sir Bob Geldof fighting back tears as he sings and directs the group
he wasnt fighting back tears
Este video es extraordinario. Me encanta! I Love it so much!!! The best christmas song ever!
I lost count of all the mullets in this clip!
Looks like Sting forgot which line was his so he decided to lip sync George Michael and Simon Lebon's as well...
well George couldn't make it there. I watched the full program earlier and Wham! were supposed to perform but someone said that they couldn't make it
@@gamingwithcallum6087yes, George would have gone if he could.
awesome!
1984 1st year at law school Hull. Time flies.
2.45 Simon really must have thought it was "let them know it's Christmas time again"
+Nora Nyberg Yep. A lot of people forget also that you don't do that line until the third "Feed the World" repeat.
weller singing bonos fraught lines of vacuity, oh irony of ironies
Love It!
86’
Sing this in school carol’s
Cheers 🍻
souvenirs , j'avais 16 ans
Qe lindo tema meencanta

British 80's music scene > American 80's music scene
Good times.
In my opinion the only American scene that beat the British at the time was the 1950s
THANX FOR POSTING!!!!!!!!!! :-)
acabo de encontrar una joyita
Paul Weller looking cooler than every other fucker in that room, fashion icon
Cool
Holly and Paul 😍
Paul Weller sounds so much like Bono!
Think that was one of the Slade musicians at 3:00 with the top hat.
Terry Regan Noddy Holder.
Jim Lea and Dave Hill were there too.
This is the biggest playback I've ever seen
Tony Hadley’s face at 1:41 😂😂😂
Mimeing and most to other singers
If I was standing behind Paul Weller or sting i would have passed out...
Quante stars tutte insieme.
Nik kershaw ,frankie goes to hollywood and jimmy Sommerville seen as bonus artists from the original line up
Holly Johnson couldn't get the last flight!
Another tunnnneeee some people play this even thou its not Xmas more than a tunne same again was only 7 when it come out on record
great great great... as Sting said yo cannot solve the problems of the world but you can try...
FRANKIE SAY CHRISTMAS!!!!! 2:52
So that's Holly from 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood.'
Weller must have felt a right twerp lip synching Bono's bit.
😂
2:44 Especially every time I listen here, I get energized
It seems to be absolutely fun to sing while crossing shoulders together
Covid 19 🦠When you calm down, do it all over the world
Bono still going
This just reminds me how ridiculous the miming on TOTP was
Do they still mime?
The show was finished a few years ago
+FMTCH oh really? What a shame, I always associate the show with all things good about England, (minus the host whose name is associated with paedophilia).
what is the name of the band on the balcony at 3:19
looks like Spandau Ballet, I see Tony Hadley in centre.
Is that nik Keyshaw in the tie at the 2:37 mark?
Yes! I remember watching this at the time! That Christmas of 1984 and this record really brought people together. It was a very special time ❤
Jody Watley behind Paul young...Id switch em
Come on everybody give your comments : how"d you find it with" We Are The World " ?
I prefer Do They Know It's Christmas Time to We are the World.
brilliant song midge ure always hides away he should have been up front he made the song work he doesnt take credit when he sure deserves it bless him......they all did an amazing job boy george omg that hair :) he was happy thats the main thing bob thought the song revolved around him it did not you do not mime to someone elses voice thats just wrong period
Where was George Michael in this video? I heard his voice, but, didn't see him.....
This song really gave American artists a shock to their system. A lot of prominent black entertainers were ashamed at seeing a lot of white British artists doing what they should've done a long time ago.
why was it the white people who should have done it along time ago no reason others couldnt have shifted their asses and done something
wow, no body looks like they want to be there. don't blame them.
Bonos the invisible man
Clearly Bono wasn't available
Boy George is the only one with a microphone
