Easy to second guess what to do In the snow situation..but I’d hook the snowmobiles up to the van and pull it..or, park at the top of the hill since you had snowmobiles to ride down to the lake..
Facts .. even the getting the snowmobiles off is less weight...
Next time I wanna see Lojo an his teammate in Antarctica and the other 2 in Hawaii or Porto Rico.

For being as familiar with the north as yall are im really shocked you didnt prep better for the weather challenge, jon. Get an ARB snatch strap (orange) or a Bubba Rope kinetic rope and the 4runner would have popped the bago out with ease.
That being said, shame on that rental company for not using better suited platforms for thier rentals. Snow tires, wheel cables or chains, and 4 wheel drive! Keep that freaking FWD rig for your summer customers. Geez thats coming freaking sense. At a minimum, if youre gonna be sending custormers out during that time of year with a FWD VAN, at least have it equipped with studded snow tires. They arent expensive.
You get more traction in snow going at 1 tire rotation per like 15 seconds

Never heard anyone say front wheel drive is worse in snow than rear wheel drive. You needed a 4x4. You'd been proper fudged with rear wheel drive. You'd be going nowhere.
