Jamaica March Madness. Everything you could possibly see. Nasty winds/great entertainment. 3/31/22

  • This caps off a great month. The wind was too much sometimes. I did everything I could to muffle it but action was typically frantic and you name it, I saw it there yesterday.

@@Justin_DeLeon You have to get off the train; give up your seat; stand on a platform with a ton of people all fighting to get back onto the same train; usually crossing a platform; waiting; then jostling for a seat on the new train.

I've been part of the Jamaica madness several times...changing trains or just psssing through. A rush hour change at Jamsica was most scary....very crowded platforms.
    Thanks for posting this.😀😀💙💙

Great video! The diesel trains on the LIRR are my favorite. A relaxing smooth ride.

And, lest we forget "ping- pong" coaches! Dashing Dan in gray and orange...

Crack of dawn NE regional from Boston South Station to DC Union and then Silver star from there to Orlando what a long ass one that was, we can a half later Silver star from Orlando to Rocky Mount North Carolina, week later from Rocky Mount North Carolina to New York penn then LIRR to Jamaica, and then LIRR from Jamaica to New York Penn, then Acela from there to Boston south then MBTA Red to orange to blue to Wonderland each of the three places was to visit family

Jamaica heading onto trains going to Montauk is the most hectic. Everyone is pushing each other and it can be really hectic. Since the train everyone goes for is the 11:21 Shuttle from Penn to Jamaica. Everyone going to Montauk and other points east via LIRR is on that train.

Be glad you didn't come down to Philly. When you would of passed the Levittown-Tullytown station, you would of seen all the police cars lined up for the funeral and procession for our fallen troopers. Might of even seen them when the NEC parallels 95 from Cottman to just before Bridge st.
Also later in the day, around 7pm it got real nasty weather wise. Some trees fell down in my neighborhood.

Love the sound of the diesels, the bell, and the K5LLA. Jamaica was always a fun place. How do you know all the train #s (not the car #s) - are you retired from the LIRR? Good stuff.

    I always wondered about this...
How do those third rails work?
Are they programmed to 'reach out' when the gaps occur?
Maybe do a video on how the 3rd rail is used.
Thanks for the coverage and good luck with your surgery ❤

Question for Retired Railfan and others...If you were limited to subscribing to one railfan magazine, and did not care about railroad modeling, what would be the best single magazine to get? (I have a 1940s vintage American Flyer train set, but am now more interested in real rolling stock, power...vintage and new...and railroading history and stories than anything else.) Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Good Evening Tim!! I hope all is very well with you. I understand you are going to have surgery at the end of April. I hope it goes okay for you. One quick question for you. I know there is a LIRR train museum in Oyster Bay. Do you know if New York And Atlantic will be going to do anything like maybe deliver some freight cars there this summer? I know that they go on the Port Jefferson Branch to a Lumber Yard, on the Main Line out east to Riverhead, and on the Central Branch east of Bethpage as well. Please message me back and have a wonderful Easter and Passover Weekend!! Thanks my good friend!!

You do a real good job with your reporting and video, but have you ever thought about shooting a standup open or standup close? I really believe that a standup would add to your videos.
