God, I remember the No-Elemental-Burn Valus Ta'aurc Nightfalls and how the final boos battle would be like 1-+ minutes of cautios peeking.
....And tbh, Im nostolgic and miss old-schoold Destiny and those clunky moments xD
6 years later this comment aged poorly. Proving grounds is worse than valus aurc. Seeing 1335 light level streamers in fully voice comms get stomped hard was hilarious.

This music makes the cabal pretty intimidating.
They're a heavily militarized alien race that weigh 800 pounds and destroy entire planets, if they get in their way. If that's NOT intimidating, nothing is.

I grew to absolutely HATE Valus Ta'aurc. He never targeted anyone else with his Quake but me. And on average, during Nightfalls it took almost a full hour to pass through it because of Angry and those shielded Psions and Psion Operants.

I was able to solo this nightfall in year one. very fun. solar and arc burn.... icebreaker best exotic of year one by far

Why does this ost make me think about the Military, seriously just imagine the entire U.S. Military marching and driving and flying all these different types of advance vehicles like tanks and battle heli-copters in one big open area with this song playing in the background.

It would be super cool but the US military never has so many different units, vehicles, and aircraft at the same time all together. That is just stuff you see in the movies it makes them vulnerable being all together, sure there all combined arms exercises but they are much more spaced out
I rather have the new Red Legion Interceptors (which you Can fire faster and have unlimited energy boost, so going faster than even a Sparrow) instead of the slower ordinary Interceptors back in D1.
Also, yes. The Cabal are after all Destiny's main Militant enemy races (and they became more intense when they sent out those Wretched Red Legion scraps).
This music adds to an already epic battle in itself. This strike, along with Winter's Run, is one of the most intense in the Vanilla game.

The Cabal are like the Covenant in Destiny they destroy planets for getting in their way a Heavy Militarized Alien Empire who searches for knowledge and technology while showing fear to their enemies only thing that makes them different then the covenant is their technology and Vehicles are nowhere near as powerful and their not built from multiple Alien races as the Covenant
Thats very true, holy shit. But all of their projectiles are mini rockets.
The Covenant were actually not so needlessly destructive, and actually kept pieces of worlds they glassed as a sort of solemn hall of remembrance. And as far as I remember, they only glassed worlds with significant Human resistance.
The Covenant was also in a way anti-knowledge and technology, as they sat on untold amounts of tech the Forerunners left behind and never improved on it. Cortana was able to make a plasma torpedo launcher several times more destructive merely by altering the settings.
That said, I'd love to see an all-out war between the Covenant and the Cabal.

***** that is not entirely true the covenant had forced many of the species in the Covenant were threatened to join them or they wipe out their homeworlds after that they found the humans interfering with their forerunner expeditions so they thought they would ruin the sacred temples and technology with their heresy so begun to wipe them out remember the founders of the Covenant are ELITES AND PROPHETS and covenant do wipe out planets as a way to show fear in their enemies and wipe out their resistance
Armando Kamekona The Lekgolo (Hunters) almost had their homeworld destroyed because they gave such fierce resistance and were hostile at first, as I recall. The rest had far less incident being accepted into the fold.
Also the Covenant hatred of humanity was a bit political. The Prophet of Truth was coming into power, and all of a sudden Mendicant Bias is telling them that the "Reclamation" glyphs they've been seeing are actually "Reclaimer". The chosen ones of the Forerunners. So Humans were declared an affront to the gods to cover that up.
I imagine it got a little out of control after that, and the practice of burning Human worlds is partially from that hatred of perceived heresy and the absolutely brutal fight Humans gave on the ground.
