Using an impact socket in the press is good because it is malleable and will just deform if it fails. A chrome socket will explode when it fails.

Have a NB Miata on my channel that had a massive oil leak just like draining from the bottom of the car. Changed the oil cooler gasket and banjo bolt right beside the oil filter with the copper washers and my leak is gone. Hope yours is as easy fix as mine was!
