Extremely nice music.....! Enjoyed it a lot.... (P.S.-Your wiring explanation is great, but wow, that's a lot of wiring...!) 😆

Beautiful music. The tone colours are spot on. Why have only just discovered your channel? Only glad I have now found it.
It seems very Jarre-esque in parts, and that is a good thing. Perhaps it will even inspire JMJ to get on with his next album - it has certainly inspired me!

Thanx buddy! Here´s a small chapter from my ´book´ how I´ve wired my synths (at this moment). Perhaps I´ll make a video on that some day....Will visit your channel soon!
I have the possibility to change my setup, but this is my most used one:
      Audio:
all synths are connected (with 6,3 TS/TRS cable) to my mixer, the Alto Pro LIVE 2404 PA-mixer. Each synth a separate channel.
from the mixer I record all songs into the Tascam DR40-X
recorded songs can be accessed via USB on my computer and processed further if needed (usually not since I don't mix my songs, always one take recording)
      External FX pedals:
      I have 4 FX pedals:
      Nemesis Delay pedal
      Strymon BlueSky Reverberator pedal
      Strymon NightSky Timewarp Reverberator Pedal
      Polara Digitech Reverb pedal
The pedals are also connected to the ALTO mixer as an insert. Since I can control 4 insert FX per channel on the mixer it's very easy to 'open/assign' each pedal on each channel. Of course a lot of turning knobs so I have to decide befor recording what synths I'll use and which effects I wanna use with that particular synth.
      Controlling my synths:
all synth are also connected with 5-pin midi to the M8U eX - 16-port USB 3.0 MIDI interface (with USB). The Korg Oasys is used as MASTER synth (and goes as an IN-port), all other synth are SLAVE and function as a OUT port from the ESI interface.
The Oasys has 16 midi channels and a very strong and usefull sequencer. Each synth has it's own channel so basically I can control/play/sequence each synth from the Oasys.
Also the Novation SL MKIII is used as a sequencing keyboard. Very powerfull device! Receives clock in from the ESI midi interface.
Usually the Waldorf Kyra and Roland Jupiter Xm are HW synth connected to the SL MKIII. Also USB channels to record/sequence VST´s like Omnisphere, Native Instruments, BLUE II etc.
      DAW:
I used a DAW in my earlier days, but lately almost never/rarely use a DAW. The DAW I use is Cubase. Since the ESI also has USB it's possible to route all the synth in my DAW via USB of the ESI. All 5-pin midi ports are also recognised as a USB device so this also works great!!
      Computer:
I use 4 cams to record the videos and a lot of USB ports are needed for external devices (I use a 16 usb 3.0 port hub with external power supply).
Also 4 monitors so I can check my PC/software from each playing angle if needed (or just project a fancy screensaver on them during playing). But you need a BIG and strong PC (several M2 SSD's, 32Gb RAM, Ryzen5 processor etc etc.)
and finally for the ambiance some HUE lights which I can control with the great Elgato StreamDeck (love that device!!)
      ...resumé...
It's not possible to give a short answer due to the complexity of my setup...and it took me quit some time to get it right. But it works! Hopefully it's a bit 'clearer' for you now.

@@mamojula thanks for the response. I had a feeling all your synthesizers were connected with a 5-pin. What I really liked about your setup is the monitors that you have in the software that you using to check up when you're playing angle I think that is so cool. But as far as visuals,,,those Hue Lights really brings it home

    Where's the VSynth?

    • @mamojula
      @mamojula  Před 2 lety +1

It´s on the upper shelf above the Korg Oasys on the right side (VSynth XT), not used in this track.
