I have been an in home caregiver for the elderly the last 14 years and know the importance that their yards mean to them. Thank you from my heart for helping them as well! I was the caretaker for my folks then to several other elderly people. My mother was in a wheelchair and she still wanted to help plant her flowers. She couldn't get out very often but she could still see them from the house how pretty they were . The other people had me plant some vegetables. It made them so happy to see things grow.
Yes. It is. Seeing life, gives them life. Especially their favorites that bring back memories.
Some of the best gifts you can give the elderly is peace of mind , solace and security ,help with labor and of coarse love and compassion.
You and your father and all that contributed to this project have given Sheila all of these . God bless you all and your family's for the goodness you carry in your hearts ❤
I completely agree with that , there's nothing more frustrating than seeing stuff that needs doing , but just not being able enough to do it , especially when you have ! managed to do for most your life . Growing old sucks at times, and most older people don't like to ask for help . You your dad and friend have worked wonders on that garden , you should be so proud . If i was sheila, i would be looking at the garden all day now , put some food on the bird table and she can watch the birds feeding , which i'm sure she would enjoy . I'm going to donate again , to Normans gofundme, as you are doing such a splendid job , not only the garden , but the fence, guttering, windows, car , the house will look like a palace soon . ❤❤❤

Sheila was probably a keen gardener when she was younger and it must have been awful for her to see everything getting so overgrown. Can't believe the transformation you've made. So well done lads. It's a massive change. Please go back once a year to keep it tidy. All the brambles will grow back otherwise 😁
Wouldn't it be wonderful, Elizabeth, if the neighbors pitched in every few weekends to just maintain here and there.? You know the saying "it takes a village to raise a child. " There's nothing wrong with a 'village mentality '. It's what's lacking these days, don't you think so? It may be thought bold or even rude to knock on a neighbors door you haven't met, introduce yourself and give them your # and ask them if there's anything you can do for them; anything they need. Send cookies. Invite them to tea...Something!
It wasn't just my parents who molded me it was Mrs. Sullivan yelling at me "I'm calling your MA, little girl!" It was my Mimay sending her youngest down the street with a paper bag of clothes for a family who didn't know her.

The car was discovered and the garden was left in its original shape. There were so many emotions, anyway. You really were a hero in this lady's life and so was her father. Aw, you really made the tears flow with this one. I was holding it together as you and Dad Paul with help from Nick got that back area cleared and exposed the driveway. And you cleared the gutters. My gosh, what a lot of stuff was closing in on Sheila and making her feel like a prisoner! And now you've freed her. ❤ Then Joe did such a fantastic job with the windows - such a difference and such a great job! I'd call him in a minute if I were in the UK!
I started getting the sniffles when I realized there was an extra person helping to clear the driveway area and then you got water from a viewer and reminded us how wonderful the neighbors were being with keeping you fed and hydrated. When you revealed that they had been trying to help with her laurels over growing the sidewalks and that they do Sheila's shopping for her, I was sort of hiccuping to hold the sobs back - they're the neighbors we all need! ❤ But the dam broke when you told Sheila that you wanted to give her your number in case she ever needs ANYTHING at all. 😭 She's right - you ARE a wonderful chap! ❤❤❤
And the beautiful Arthur brought me back to smiles. He and Theo seem to find joy in everything they do. 🥰
