@StereoMoJo- Its worth a shot, to call Taramps USA, and just tell them what happened, and that you have a video they can watch, to determine if they would warranty this amp? Also alot of car audio competitors i know that run full bridge amplifiers, say to stay around 1volt of RCA input voltage, and just crank up the amplifier gain, this along with NOT wiring below rated impedance, keep from clipping too much, and dont give this style of amplifier too much power input voltage, like 14.4volts to 12.0@ the lowest. This style/design has less margin for errors. Also depends on the specific quality of components used by the different companies. Also did you happen to notice the amperage when the amp went into protect= 220ish amps, and dynoed 2700 watts!? Thats how you calculate amp efficiency accurately. You must use the amperage pulled, @ the exact millisecond that the power number flashes up on the screen. If you just use the max/peak amperage pulled @ the end of a dyno run= thats not the correct way, as an amplifier will keep pulling higher amperage, on an amp dyno, even after the peak power has been obtained. So if in the future, you had on video, all on screen @ the same time, the amp/clamp, the Amm-1, and the voltage, we/you could pause the video, @ the exact same time, the peak/max power showed, to see voltage, amperage, and power ALL @ the exact millisecond that the power showed, hope this helps?

  • @JasonWW2000

Looks like the power supply section couldn't handle it. Being full range, maybe the 40hz test tone was too much for it? Maybe the 1000Hz tone it would survive? I think for subs, they make their Bass versions. I simply have not been impressed by any of the Brazilian companies. Their philosophy of making products as cheap as possible seems to work in Brazil, but not elsewhere.

@@joshholden8561 I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm well aware that this is a full range amplifier that is capable of playing below 20 Hz. The point I was trying to make is that this particular model does not appear to be optimized for subwoofers. You'll note that Taramps does make amplifiers that are specifically designed for subwoofers. I'm going to make the assumption that the Bass versions are built a little more heavy duty to handle the sustained low impedance loads.

That's not true !!!! SAE .. Society Of Automive Engineers have a put together a chart for current and voltage drop at given lengths of wire .
You can use 4 awg at 3.75 feet to carry 300 amps at 13.5 volts , 2% voltage drop !
The ones with degrees know what they are talking about . This test was legit ! And nothing was done wrong here on this test . Full bridge amplifiers are not for subwoofer duty.. (my 2cent ) this test clearly shows that. . Rockford fosgate and all other legit brands use this test , as harsh as it should be to bring a customer a "safe " product ! Let's not call Apples oranges here .
I wish I could get a 3000 watt rms subwoofer amplifier for $180 . But the the proof is in the pudding .

@@Cal3666You can't really say full bridge amp topology is not for subs. JL Audio slash series monoblocks have run subs for decades, no issue. Theres lots of full bridge sub amps currently on the market and they work just fine.
The issue here is simply Taramps design philosophy. I believe this specific model was designed for full range use only, like on a stunt wall. That's why they have different models specifically designed for bass.
The Taramps philosophy, and other Brazilian companies I've seen, is to cut costs as much as possible. To the point they sacrifice quality and reliability. At 6 cents per watt, it's simply too cheap.
