Ricky, the owner of this mega RS200 Renault Clio with the help of BeanieSport in Milton Keynes has created a fun fast track going, daily used car. That’s been reliable over for over three years now with little hiccup.

Such a competent car, and quite understated too, I'm liking that a lot.
My dream Renault, would be an R5 Maxi Turbo from 1981, as driven by Jean Ragnotti to victory in it's first outing. 345bhp in s RWD R5 weighing about half this Clio does, wow.

I've got a 200 Cup and n/a for what they are it doesn't disappoint in regards to performance. With a megane engine swap I bet that's a right animal to handle. Great video.

@@CJK20 even though it doesn't have Vtec but it does scream like hell. The beep goes well to get perfect gear changes but then I change it before then but it's a nice little touch. A geezer I know had an ep3 type r before he written it off and that's was fast as hell standard form.

What a great build. Most fun car I ever owned was my stage 2+ liquid yellow R26. Sadly It went bang and took me 6 months to rebuild.
Ouch, what ended up being the cause? Literally just the power tool it’s toll or something else?
@@CJK20 It somehow dropped a valve and punched a hole right though the piston. No idea what caused it other than it was being driven hard. Ended up buying a replacement engine that came with the cam belt timing out of sync. Fantastic car though. Got a 400bhp 335d now which is very fast but not as fun. Enjoying the channel mate great vids.

I’d love to see it at full chat through the gears etc. We mostly took it on country roads where it was a little bumpy but could still tell it gripped up real well.

Thinking about buying a Clio RS 200 cup with meg engine. Currently have a ep3 premium running 256bhp, anyone went from a ep3 to Clio RS 200 with the megane engine fitted.

I believe so. It hasn’t always had the swap :)
It was a completely standard 200 Cup originally when I purchased it mate yes 😊

Is it just me or does the facelifted Clio 3 look a bit botched? The front headlights don’t look like they fit well and the front bumper just looks a bit too bulky for me. Thoughts?
Hey bro, I totally get what you mean about the bumper, it doesn’t match nicely with the wing does it. I mean that’s obviously intentional but wasn’t till I looked back that I sort of noticed that.
CJK20 I think it’s because they didn’t want to redesign new front wings because it would cost a lot of money in production. They are plastic too so I imagine engineering a new mould would be a bit more complicated than usual. Take a look at the 197 (pre facelift Clio RS mk3). I think they have aged beautifully and in my opinion looks a bit more aggressive and angular:)

Not hating but what's the weight saving over the car the engine came out of? Can't be much which makes you think what's the point unless you really like clios lol

The Megane = 1,335kg
Clio = 1,150kg
I’m guessing the Megane engine with the turbo etc is going to add some weight over the stock N/A engine. But the extra power I’m sure helps out man.
@@CJK20 is 1,150kg this Clio specifically? As that's not the standard weight.
A 200 is 1240kg, and a cup is like 30kg less.

I just say as 1,150kg isn't far off a 182's weight, and that's a much smaller car.
Kinreal thanks for letting me know mate. Far from an expert in these. Whilst the weight may be negligible I think the tuning potential of this engine over the n-a motor is probably why people like to swap out
