We want to install laminate on our entire main floor with NO transitions. Living room/ kitchen/ dining area/ family room and foyer. We have a stairway in the middle of all the rooms listed. Because the house will not be square, we are wondering when we come around that stairway are the boards going to line up ?? Do you have any advice for this ? Many thanks, we love the videos.
Dunno if you got that black eye from a wayward tool that struck, or from a night of drunken debauchery gone horribly wrong. I'm figuring you do these videos on a restricted budget so you don't normally have a makeup artist on set, but you should have considered getting one for this instance (preferably one that knows how to use an airbrush). All the same it's very easy to hide a shiner. Dermablend and a blending sponge would have made short work of it though regular concealer and setting powder could do it with some practice. I'm a photographer and I once had a model that had a HUGE black eye after getting kicked in the face in a taekwondo match a week before I was scheduled to take photos of them. By the time the shoot came around the swelling had gone away but they had even worse discoloration than what you had. After they applied concealer you couldn't even tell they still had a black eye. Oh well... if you got it from someone starting a fight with you, I hope you left them in worse shape than they did to you. :)
Good to see you still check out the comments. I had a question, I do a lot of basic installs but I have one coming up where I have to install a carpet and border it with laminate. Let's say it a 15x20 room and they want me to do a 2 foot square of laminate border around it. I'm wondering how I would join the corners to make them look square

You automatically assume it's from a drunken fight when he could have just ran into something in the middle of a sleepless night. I've done it. Regardless this guy knows what he's doing. Has the tools. I'll take his advice whether he has a black eye or not

Great video. I can do this now. The Menards video didn't help much. Love the tips about spacing and the order that one lays the material. I never would have thought to stack the unused packs of laminate to stabilize what I'd already done. However, you do have to start with an explanation of how you got the black eye.

Nice project. Check with your local flooring wholesalers for underlay. Most retail outlets sell cheap underlay at double the cost of a premium product at a wholesaler. You can get ten times the quality at half the price.

One thing you did wrong, you never put the pieces right next to the wall you always give them a little bit os space to expand due to temperature changes, i had to reinstall a 2 big rooms with the same floor because they were to.close to the wall and expanded making some parts of the laminated floor to lift in areas that w8 was not applied, it was a pretty simple job, just let 1,5 cm from each wall on the upside of the board, and less than 0,5 on the sides

I installed one of these floors several years ago. The room was 22x30 feet. I had no need for the hammer. I laid the first row along the 30 foot side and cut the last piece off. That last piece started the next row. Laid out the complete second row end to end connected. Laid connection edge to first row lifted it up until it caught in the first row along the whole run, tapped the second row edge from one end to the other. It will drop in as you go. Completed the room in a few hours and had NO waste. I do like the cutter you have. I had to cut mine and had some 45's to do.
So long as this guy fits flooring better than he avoids punches, you're good to go :D Seriously though folks, I did my whole house (UK) by this guy's videos. I literally type in my next job, look for the dudes face in the results. Simple, no bs. Trust this guy's knowledge.
handymanwork92 depends what you install , if you installing laminate you need your right eye , however if its gluedown you might need the left one , and nail down of course you would need both of em to be black

I installed one of these floors several years ago. The room was 22x30 feet. I had no need for the hammer. I laid the first row along the 30 foot side and cut the last piece off. That last piece started the next row. Laid out the complete second row end to end connected. Laid connection edge to first row lifted it up until it caught in the first row along the whole run, tapped the second row edge from one end to the other. It will drop in as you go. Completed the room in a few hours and had NO waste. I do like the cutter you have. I had to cut mine and had some 45's to do.

Seriously though folks, I did my whole house (UK) by this guy's videos. I literally type in my next job, look for the dudes face in the results. Simple, no bs. Trust this guy's knowledge.

handymanwork92 depends what you install , if you installing laminate you need your right eye , however if its gluedown you might need the left one , and nail down of course you would need both of em to be black
