  • I could not find any video that CLEARLY SHOWED how to re-install the wire spring that holds the last smooth plate and last small friction gear in place. some said use fishing line but others said it broke and to use picks but no one specified the locations in which the ends needed to be pushed down into so I made this video that starts with that and ends with everything put back together.

No one I know puts that spring back. I bought a Barnett kit and pressure plate. Made a world of difference. If you feel the clutch slipping under acceleration in 4th and 5th gear get the purple Barnett pressure plate.

No slipping and I was keeping the current plate so I figured everything should go back the way it was...perhaps the guy I was referring about did do an upgrade on the preasure plate and I didn't catch that who knows. But if there's one thing I've learned is everything serves a purpose in an existing system, so I was only trying to keep it in for whatever purpose of serves and showing others how to do the same that's all

I just did mine today I was using the original steel plate so I put the retention wire back. Had it been an upgraded clutch most likely wouldn't have. Torqued everything to 70 Inch Lbs. If you're not 100% sure then it's always best to return everything to how you found it.
