Dude, thank you for making this. Came across your channel while looking for turbo inlet pipe/hose videos. I’ve got an 8v A3 1.8t and the MQB platform across the board is very similar per application and model, which is exactly why Your videos can have some degree of benefit and info for myself. I have basically this same setup but I also run a CTS Turbo front mounted intercooler and ARM charge pipes and that helps also. The intercooler helps mostly with heat soak so you aren't running high intake temps after just a few pulls. I keep everything cool with a Racingline oil cooler tucked under the passenger wheel well. I use the Racingline catch can also and the TIG welded oil pan by ECS. Those combined make for a reliable (long lasting) build. I had my intake manifold replaced and all of the valves cleaned prior to the catch can and while it wasn't bad, there was definitely some carbon build up even after 20K miles.

Anyone here who needs to rebuild their HPFP it is super easy, it is not labor intensive! It is a basic piston design, I have done it multiple times on Mazdaspeed 6's and 3's and several other cars. It seems way worse than what it is. I do not blame anyone though for doing a direct swap just keeps the install time down, but the HPFP rebuild takes like 5-10 minutes once you have it out. Anyways amazing video!

Changing your exhaust is SOO WORTH it, IF you're willing to go through the headache/$ to make it sound right! I wanted a mature, no-rice growl without drone, that's civil in neighborhoods and a monster when you floor it. Easier said than done.. Found myself buying 3 different resonators, learning the Science of helmholtz resonators, bolting different crap up to the exhaust countless times. Yes, an exhaust opens up some more power. But it's the subtleties- Turbo flutters, vibrations in the gas pedal and stick, less lag in between shifting, you just feel much more connected to the car. I'm manual, but get DSG farts, except they're not DSG farts, they sound like gutteral bombs exploding in the near distance. I FINALLY got it dialed in, and she nasty 😅

My fault, I never check the comments!
      *AWE Track exhaust
      *Vibrant 1974 Resonator
      *Unitronic catted DP
      (Get the res welded, trust)
The intake made the drone worse around 2000k rpm, until swapped as well.
      *APR Open intake
      *Unitronic Turbo inlet
      *ARM intercooler charge pipes
      *ARM Intercooler
I noticed a good portion of my drone was due to inconsistent breathing of the car. Once she was free to breathe on both ends, the drone was minimized with a very mature exhaust note (for a 4 banger).
      Hope this helps

Those flat-4 engines have narrow bearing journals and narrow crank pin journals to minimize the engine rocking-couple vibration but that doesn't bode well for lubrication if the should be any oil pressure drop. Inline-4 is just a better place to start for building HP.

HPFP would be the bare necessity for E85. MPI and LPFP to get the most out of E85....but, they are not really worth it unless you upgrade the turbo past IS38.

      Downpipe/tune = stage 2

Hey man, I noticed your said the golf r has dual LPFP in the tank. That is not true, the LPFP on the R is on the passenger side under the rear seat. On the driver side under the rear seat it looks like what would appear to be a fuel pump, but it is actually where you can disconnect the haldex. So it just one LPFP on the R.
