It is not easy for a country like Japan where the game of basketball is new to achieve success all of a sudden. It will take some time for them to uprise to the challenge at a high level. They are on a good way though. Ok, the Turkish team is young except for a few veterans like Ilyasova and Erden but the basketball atmosphere is high in Turkiye. Most of the players in the squad are faced with Euroleague games every week, even if they do not play many minutes in their teams yet. On top of that 3 NBA players in the team make the team quite competitive. Let us see what they are going to do against the USA team.
I think not really "new" , Basketball is the 2nd most popular sport in Japan after Baseball, and if u remeber there was a huge and popular manga named "slam dunk" during the 90s, the manga also had anime adaptation..which was also popular

@@janmelvinbarreto6210 I prefer NCAA experienced players than the locally-trained ones. I think the only locally-trained player worthy of being in the team is baba. I think the tall players trained in japan are not physical enough against european teams. Hogland who`s 6`11" actually played extremely well against korean team A cuz he`s playing in the NCAA unlike Heraiwa who was being dominated by his match-ups. The problem is that the tall players are only 20 years old so the seniors might not give their spot.

Malaki at malapad sila kase tignan mo katawan nila musculine pero athletic luge talaga Asian pero may bansa na kaya ang European Basketball gaya ng China. Iran kase tamang tama lang puede rin ang Jordan pero ang Pilipinas malayo ang agwat

Where in Asia like in the Phl where basketball is a religion size is not a problem anymore but a long term program is the key thats lacking besides being short in budget and full commitment to play for the National team

It’s crazy how most European countries have like less than 20 million people in population yet they all mostly strong in the game of basketball. Most of the people prefer football over basketball like it’s not even close. But the talent level ain’t that far to USA. America has like what 300+ million?? European basketball players are far more hardworking than players that are not from Europe. They practice fundamentals in the morning, study, then they practice team play (defense, offense) in the afternoon after school. They don’t brag about having the heart in the game of basketball, they actually have the heart in the game.
Its just theg have much better basketball genes and height..

Why are you jealous of Japan? The basketball program of Japan is at its early stage unlike baseball. There are new players being trained to join hachimura, Watanabe and Baba. Turkey destroyed other European teams in their preparation games unlike Italy that lost all their practice matches. Japan could have defeated african teams and some Hispanic countries but was grouped with 2 strong European and USA teams.
