Smelter actually produces more blocks, for metal 2 it was like 25 instead of 10
was about to say the same, metal 1 is also the same, it's 25&20 instead of 15&15
I was gonna say the same but was sure someone would have already commented this :)
I saw that too
2.5x stonks
I think that is what we all call streamer/youtuber blindness.
The farm raid was triggered, because you planted tier 2 crops (oranges) and since they're tier 2, the game counts them as double, so together with the 7 basic tier one veggies, you effectively planted 11 crops (according to game logic)
Hmm that's something a wolf would say so they have another chance to attack scrapmans crops
thanks for remembering that, i think pineapples are tier three but im sure there was another one. Do you know what it is?
Brocoli? Or are you talking about Blueberries, another teir two crop.@@bubblestheseawing5076
It wasn't in a 3x3 grid
right, and once he had triggered the first wave, the second and third came automatically, since he still had crops. It doesn't matter how many crops you have for those.
Look at the amount of metal you get from the smelter. The smelter gives you 20, the bench gives like 10.
4:19 You CAN drink water, but you'll need to craft the cooking bench (for which you'll need to craft the woodworking bench, in the workbench) and need to craft a mug (for which you'll need to craft polished metal, in the workbench/metal workbench).
If the off chance scrapman reads it:
Sadly I wont be able to help from a crrtian point, since the mod bugged out for me around the three stooges. (They just stood there, no prompt, no possible interacitons) I fully explored the warehouse even the top and the basement.
Funnily enough found the OG survival spaceship before the entire Bill questline, since I just explored the map with three iterations of ground vehicles (scrap, regular, pistonengined). Also there were two oilponds in deserts in my world, no idea if there will be in yours or not. [Apparently one shoudl spawn close to Bill's house]
- Look at how many the recipes give not just how many they need
- Remember the crop tier point system
- Build a Car you'll need it for the "warehouse", that's why it is so far away
- Pick stuff up from the ground (benches, smelters, chests) since the wolfs can oneshot them
- Check the back of the banana crate (inside) a gold chest always respawns there
- Also there is basically nothing to hurt you inside the warehouse
- There is an important item in one of the rooms with the numbers (in a locker if I remember correctly)
- You can drink !filtered! water.
And also... yes the wolves can break workbenches.
Yes, build a car first, u need to bring 2 crates for bill
Ah yes, let's remove a lot of the worry, mystique and wonder from the HQ by telling him there's nothing there and where stuff is. What a great idea.
Yeah I had my workbenches on the ground and I watched wolves destroy them in front of me so I had to run all the way back to the escape pod just to make another scrap bench
@@IcyPig_Edward I suppose you are deliberately misrepresenting what I said.
Remember to look at how much of the block the smelter makes. The smelter takes slightly more materials but gives you 1.5x the product
Crop Raids are based off a point system. Microframing is 9 points maximum. I have not looked at it for a long time so I don't remember the exact point values for all crops. However, I can say Beats, Carrots and Tomatos are all 1 point ea. I have tested this in Crashlander and yes those crops are only 1 each. However Other crops are worth more points. Broccoli is something like 3 points ea. So the moment you plant something other than 1 point each crops you will still trigger the raid.
pineapple and broccoli are 3, those 3 are 1, the rest are 2.
he had 2 oranges and 7 tier 1, 11 points.
microfarming IS NO AN 9 POINTS, ITS TRIGGER RAID AT IT
U have to plant max 8 bsi plants and 4 advaned (like bananas or broccoli)...
Microfarming is 9 points with no raid.
But if you have any crops at all planted at 5am after a raid, you'll get another raid. (The 10+ limit doesn't apply for subsequent raids.)
Carrots, radishes, and tomatoes (vegetables) count as 1 each, so you can plant 9 of them in a microfarm.
Potatoes and Cotton (non-food) count as 1.5, so you can only plant 6 of them.
Oranges, blueberries, and bananas (fruit) count as 2 each, so you can only plant 4 of them.
Pineapple and broccoli (special) are three points each, plus they also always cause an advanced (tougher) raid regardless of points. (A single pineapple will cause an advanced raid, even though it is only 3 points.)
another reminder that the Wild Berries in the forests are consumable! its an ok food source when ur in a pinch
the woodworking bench lets you make good cheap storage (though fragile so keep it away from danger)
and you can also interact directly with a woc to feed it faster, while holding corn un your hand
the smelter gives you 20 metal per 10 raw which is a very good deal!
and the banana crate even has actual banana items you can pick up if you look closely, very sneaky of the devs,, and theres even more food inside that you can grab, though some like the pizza requires you to press E to take slice from instead
hope im not saying too much in one message i just had the info and like to share 😅
You forgot, that the chest in the container respawns. :D
@@captain_loeffel i wasnt even mentioning it at all lol, but yea that is a nice thing too
You can feed the corn directly to the woc, it goes much faster.
Insert Corn in one and. Get bottle of milk out the other.
In vanilla too ???
@@Tsuintabono it’s just in this mod. In vanilla you gotta place it down.
30:56 😂 I was waiting for you to say it
Caught me off guard ngl
Check the amounts each recipe produce, the smelter produce x20/x25 for some stuff while the bench makes X10/x15 for the same stuff
Also, if something is too far away maybe you should start building a vehicle
It's both incredible and frustrating that a modder can make all this faster than the developers
@@Fivemacsyo crashlander dev here, those clothes is something that we cant fix, we dont have access to remove garment from the player so they just clip. And what do you mean items clipping
@@terranterr great job with the mod guys! So far it has been incredibly fun and the story line is pretty great, but the animation on the wolves are a bit janky by the way they strafe and attack but overall its incredibly well done!
Scrapman, when comparing recipes don't forget to check how many it makes as well as how much it uses.
The reason you got raided while micro farming is because you planted some oranges, micro farming only works with the minimum tier of crop, in total a max of 9 carrots, beets, and/or tomatoes per crop
I swear you and Kan got to read everything for the items you want to make. You get more out of the smelter than the crafting bench. The quantity goes from 15 to 20 for slightly more material. 😂😂😂
Pro tip against wolves if you move to the left but move youre mouse on the wolf you will be able to hit them constantly and not get hit thats what i discovered to work
Also press slower when mining with za pickaxe you can press once every 700 milisecconds and you will hit constantly non stop
edit: also *LOOK AT HOW MUTCH RESOURCE YOU GET* example same amount of water burned wood yet more iron but you get more iron v2 its simple you use less burned wood water and coal
I swear Scrapman used to know these things. How can he have forgotten about raid levels?
Scrapman, the reason you keep getting raids even though you only planted 9 carrots is because once raids start, they don't stop until you have a day without any crops. Once the raids stop you can safely plant 9 points of crops without triggering a raid.
It's only been 3 or so years since he played survival
bruh his survival series was 3 yrs ago...
@@KozmoCraft I last played survival 3 years ago and remember all of this 😂
It’s kinda fun but also frustrating watching this series and seeing him not remember anything
Yeah, I assume it's like riding a bike.@@coolHawk_
It's fun to see how rusty you are in Survival. So many things forgotten it seems :D about farming, storage in the beginning etc. etc. But you will get the momentum back - so keep trucking. It's an awesome mod, and you should enjoy the journey, and even the grind :)
the wolf armor is basically just a armored fur suit lol
30:53 there we go lol
The “larger chest” you called it is the same chest that you placed down, but you can add 3 pipe ends to connect it to vacuum pipe.
At 13:00 , you need to look at how many the Smeltery is making, most of the time it is actually more efficient than the Workbench (I dont wanna look that up if all of them are)
The banana bin outside the HQ has a golden loot box in it that re-spawns periodically
The banana container next to the entrance of the warehouse, that has a epic crate you can destroy and that will keep respawning was in a while (it will be inside of the container behind the stacks of bananas)
reminder that some crops are higher tier than others and will trigger bigger waves and with less crops (I think its the same values as in vanilla)
1. there are more stuff in the HQ that you could have took always try to press e or right click things
2. each workbench have it's own recipes and the smelter is way more efficient as it output more blocks than the other workbenches
3. the raid was triggered because you planted oranges which is a tier 2 crop (counts for 2 points) and 7 carrots which is a tier 1 crop (counts for 1 point) so the total is 11 and the raids are triggered upon exceeding 9 points (i learned that from your old survival series and it works with this mod too)
4. you should try to build a vehicle to make exploring and moving a lot easier (you will need it)
5. wolfs can break your workbenches so be careful
6. also check the back of the banana crate at the HQ
The workbench is like your assembly bench. You make components using various other benches and assemble the parts at the workbench.
Scrap, the whole thing that makes the different crafting stations is that they all make a different amount of the item per craft so instead of making one per craft it could make 2 or 5 etc.
Make sure to look at the output quantity when determining workbench efficiency.
24:35 I laughed entirely too hard at this lmao
Hope you're doing well, my internet friend.
30:55 made me explode for no particular reason
9:30 - Micro Farming does work, maybe it is because you had a raid on the previous night.
Anyway I plant 8 (tier 1) crops every day and never worry about attacks.
Try going 24 hours with no crops and start fresh.
The wood working bench lets you make a Cooking bench, which can be used to make mugs of water, (mug + 2 water) it doesn't restore food, but it does restore water
You can also make a bed at the wood bench
So first and more importantly, the smelter gives you higher yields for the same recipes.
Second, you can pick up more food in the cafeteria. That burger you could get and there is a whole pizza you can pick up as well.
theres an extensive automated crafting system. basically a version of each table that can be hooked up to your pipes and into chests which all draws from their inventories.
"ohhh yeahh look at that....im a furry" HAD ME ON THE FLOOR 😂😂😂😂
This is so funny and interesting to watch three different play throughs. Same game but not the same playing. Scrapman skip all, miss all and go with the flow, Kan over watching everything and Kosmo just being Kosmo.
you can pick up MOST food/drinks/component kits in the hq.
mostly the exceptions are you cant grab stuff in the kitchen/counter, single pizza slices, sunshakes by the vending machine in the office, or stuff in the storage room.
pretty much any other food drink and component kit is fair game.
Really liking this series, please keep it up, it's very entertaining, well done chap.
Micro farming is less than 10 crops points.
Carrots, beans and tomatoes are 1 point, oranges, blueberries and bananas are 2 points.
Also, in benches check number of required component and number of item produced
26:55 "can i call him"
dude that got me so bad 💀💀
raids trigger at crop value 9+
beets carrots and tomatos have value 1
potatos and cotton 1.5
blueberries,bananas,oranges 2
broccoli and pineapple value 3
also go all the way inside the banana container at hq every time youre there. wont regret it.
i think you missed the payout numbers on the benches and smelter. thair ratios are better. same with things you craft in the benches. its often more than 1 item being crafted.
hey scrapman remember with the efficiency of the metal crafting there are different amounts of metal you would get from it like 10 block 15 blocks or 20 blocks so keep that in mind
Scrapman check the very back of the inside of the bananas, there will be a golden chest with an engine? Also you can pick up some of the food that is inside the building.
Long time watcher first time commenter. Love your content.
When looking at crafting anything, make a habit of looking at how many of that item you are making under the items picture in the top right.. The smelter makes more metal block for a similar cost to the tables. Crafting things like circuit boards also make 2 each time you craft it.
For micro farming, if you want to farm 9 of something you have to wait a full day with no raids in order to safely plant 9 of low tier crops.
When going around the world their are berriesin the forest that you can eat for food when you need it. Its not great but it will help. Stay adventourus and hit / remove items if you are seeing something for the first time.
Woks can be fed directly so you don't have to wait for them to graze.
This mod is awesome!!! You might want to build a car and maybe a simple base
These are the conversions for metal
*Conversion for tier 1 metal (Raw Metal/Coal/Tier 1 Metal(Output)):
Scrap workbench - (20/10/15 or 1.33/.66/1) metalworking bench - (10/10/15 or .66/.66/1) smeltery - (10/7/20 or .5/.35/1)
*Conversion for Tier 1 metal using scrap (Scrap/Coal/Tier 1 Metal(Output)):
metalworking bench - (15/5/15 or 1/.33/1) smeltery - (20/7/25 or .8/..28/1)
*Conversion for Tier 2 metal (T1 Metal/Ember/Water/Coal/T2 Metal(Output)):
metalworking bench - (10/1/2/5/10 or 1/.1/.2/.5/1) smeltery - (10/1/2/8/15 or .66/.06/.13/.53/1)
*Conversion for Tier 3 metal (T2 Metal/Ember/Water/Coal/T3 Metal(Output)):
metalworking bench - (10/2/4/5/10 or 1/.2/.4/.5/1) smeltery - (15/2/4/5/15 or 1/.13/.266/.33/1)
Wolf armor is weird, if wolfs start attacking you, just reequipt the armor.
Seen in Kan's video, there are chests that may or may not respawn at the back of the banana filled big container. You may also want to try and make a car if/when you can, so you can go back and forth quicker.
You can craft water and food
You just need to look carefully at everything in each crafting table
And you can pick more than you think from the HQ and don’t forget the gold chest in the banana shipping container
One more thing you can direct feed the wac ….peace.
sooo... to prevent further confusion a small explanation about how the specific workbenches work:
if something needs several different parts to be assembled into a singular object, workbench.
metal components- metalworkers table.
plastics and tire components- chemistry bench.
wooden components- woodworkers bench.
food? that ones obvious. works well with woodworkers bench(reasons become obvious pretty quickly)
scrap bench loses its use rather quickly in the playthru and youre mostly gonna end up using it to use up scrap blocks you may encounter...
more advanced forms of machinery(most of which have to unlock) follow the same general idea.
sidenote: regular workbench has storage space btw...
30:57 he said it i didn't lol
Remember when Scrapman was a survival consultant for Neebs gaming? I can't help but think Scrapman's the one in need of assistance this time.
30:53 "Oh yeah, look at that...I'm a furry." 😂😂😂
to make sure you see what others are saying I will also put some of the info here from what the others are saying
READ THE OUTPUTS ON CRAFTING many recipes create more than one of the thing and the smelter makes like double the blocks for the cost of a couple more resources per craft
EACH ITEM YOU PUT DOWN IS DESTRUCTABLE the wolves can and will kill your crafting and storage stuff so be carful of where you put them
micro farming is keeping the point total of your plot to under 10 points of value: each tier one crop is 1 point, tier 2 is 2 and tier 3 is 3. you planted an 11 point crop at the beginning by planting the 2 tier 2 oranges with the others
make a car, it might cost a lot of recourses but you will need it for everything as you need to transport 2 crates to bill and will be getting lots of stuff in the HQ
also for future reference you can only have 1 main quest (gold icon on the side of your screen) and one side quest (blue icon on the side of your screen) and there are other side quests to come no spoilers but there are several at the HQ and the sources are obvious
on the subject of the HQ the yellow container of bananas has a gold crate in the back of it that respawns over time (its wedged in the corner at the very back behind the bananas)
some people are saying you can drink water but you need the cooking bench to make it (also probably has tons of other things to eat that are better than just raw vegies)
Feed cows super quick by holding corn in their head area in this mod its 4 corn = 1 milk.
Don't 4get, you're getting some food crates x 2. I trust you're carrying them.??
You broke that door too. Hopefully it will open Lol
the blue berries in the forests with the big " wood 1" trees , u can eat and they stack in up to 50, and respawn fast - so its free food/water --- also if u make a mug- u can make drinking water- even orange juice
i really like this new let’s play, continue like that !
Man, I'm glad you're playing this so I don't have to. Who thought SM needs to be *more* grindy? I wouldn't have the patience. Intrigued where the story goes though and enjoying the series!
Don't forget to check behind the banana store
Loved this episode! Btw, you should make a make-shift vehicle just for getting around the place a bit faster...
Scrapman, don't forget to check the outputs of the smelter, it gives you more per craft as well. Also I'm pretty sure micro farms have to less than 9, I always had a blueberry microfarm on my vanilla survival and it could only have 4 plots.
it makes more blocks per (and you can feed cows directly, btw)
Hey scrap man.7:44 the reason you got attacked is because oranges are tier 2 fruits so they take 2 raid points
and a regular tier 1 crop has 1 raid point (it takes 10 raid points for it to appear so at 7:44you shouldve put 7 crops aka 2 oranges 2 carrots and 2 beets). So yes micro farming works
I love when scrapman forgot things about the game, it happen to me as well while playing different games, NO SPILER HERE so you can keep reading: cow can be feeded direclty with corn, to drink water need to craft other items, the receipt of diffrent workbench gives diffrent amount of items back (pay more attention), in the HQ some items can be taken pressing the E instead of hold right button, in the video the E appear on an item but you didn't noticed, the bananas other then make a funny sound may hide something.... and don't forget crops tier for micro farming, oranges are tier 2 so has double value, broccoli are tier 3 so quadruple amount for the game
Love these videos! Keep them coming!
That was the coolest time-lapse in CZcams history
Hey scrap man you can pick up the pizza's in the lunch area and you can take a lot of the sunshakes and also for you not to get raid you need to put like 3 or 4 crop but if its like potato's you need less since potato's are more valuable but if it does not work then try less crops and you should try to make a car for the long journey to bills and the warehouse so hopefully i could help good luck👍
Tips scrapman will miss.1) you can force feed cows its faster. 2.) You can pick berries. 3.) Micro farming works but once you trigger a raid you have to wait 1 day before you can micro farm otherwise you will continue to trigger raid after raid.
My word it has been a long time since scrapman has played survival.
Note the yielded produce difference between the smelter when compared to the metal working bench.
7:50 its the oranges you planted
carrots, beets and toms, dont trigger a raid if you have less than 9
SCRAPMAN, you Need to pay more attention to the Number near the name of what you are crafting. If you look closely you can see that in the smeltery you received 20x metal, instead of the 15x you received from the crafting in the bench
30:51 he recognized to xd
You can craft a water mug, but it barely gives you any water, and the empty mug just takes up space.
The wolfs can destroy your work benches.
P.S.A. don't park your vehicles to close to the HQ, they will glitch teleport in.
Scrapman: "this is gonna be a loooong journey."
Me: BEAR with it, bro.
Man I love crash lender wish scrap can make more video of this
look at how many the recipe makes, the smelter is better with all of the recipes
timelapse near the end was a really nice addition though
You probably won't see this. But i think it would be a good idea to have a small storage chest or something like it in your inventory. To carry all the workbenches and needed items like keycars and the floppy disc reader in it. So you can keep them on you all the time. Until you get a good car or base to set up better upgrades in the future.
Omg ScrapMan so proud of his "field day" joke 😂😂😂 Love the series, keep it up!!
Wolves can destroy at least some of your benches. I'd put them up on a platform. Maybe even out on the water?
11:08 actually sound like neat sword sound effect if you hear closeley
[no spoilers]
Process for entire game:
Get coordinates for a new location
Go to location, explore a little, be unable to accomplish anything
Go talk to Bill, get something that will help
Go back to location and make progress
Get a new location and repeat
tl;dr: you need a vehicle. Keep it small so it can go thru forests. Don't forget Bill wants two crates, and you'll need to haul them on your vehicle.
@ScrapMan You remember when you lost your worktable? Little spoiler it wasn't your other ego (Billy) destroying it. It was more destroyed by some visitors running around all around the place. So you might think about protecting them by building them on an elevated place. As these special visitors will destroy all your buildings it seems.
theres a cooking table you cancraft in the woodworking table that lets you craft drinkable water from water and a mug. add oranges to make it orange juice instead which is better than water
You can save and load builds by pressing E on lift
"I'm a furry" caught me so off-guard.LMAO
Same 😂
7:45 --- waaat? ppl had tried this with Kosmo and I saw him planting 9 in his video, lol. Also i don't remember being the one calling this one out xD
13:55 - they produce different quantities.
i love that he didnt saw the smelt produced way more bloc for approximatly the same ressources 🤣 i was raging behind the screen
You can feed the corn directly to the cows without placing it on the ground, its faster that way. Also be sure to check the amount you get out of the smelter/benches not just the crafting requirements
I just realised, scrap mechanic finally has ladders in this mod! The power is infinite!!!
The big deal with the smelter is that you get more blocks per one craft :D (you should look at the amounts you get more closely. you made way too many screws in the previous episode etc)
You can figure out which door is the outside one by looking for the green part of the floor under the outer door.
That smelter thing really worked man 😂 id say 75% of your comments are about it
Check behind the piles of bananas at the HQ every time you go, you should find a gold chest.
nice u can finally make hybrid cars with the heavy duty alternator :)
Multiplayer Monday idea, Trailmakers.
Find a creation on the workshop that is not a vehicle but does use power cores. Give the creation to someone else to turn into a vehicle with the exact same parts.
btw u can also just feed the cows by looking at them when you got corn in your hands, it actually seems to be much faster this way too ...
When you make stuff/items from the bench or from the bots, you make more then just one item, you make 10 to 20 or more per transaction.
you can collect stuff in the HQ mostly burgers sunshakes (in the bedrooms)
there's a golden crate that re spawns in the banana cargo
