Henry, it's time to cook
Heisenberg Henry lol
@@Griff_Gaming let him cook
Your tip about mixing drinking waters with potions in a previous video was truly invaluable. Thanks!
Thank you! Glad it's helpful!
As someone who is new to this old game, your comprehensive guides have been an absolute joy saver. This game is frustrating going in blind, and you've saved me from sooo much of that frustration!
Glad it helps! This game can be frustrating at times (I still get mad at it) but when you can understand some of its quirks and game mechanics it truly is amazing!
Just what I needed coincidentally as I wanted to get into making potions right now, cool to see people still making content for this game
Awesome, hope it was helpful and thanks for the support!
This has been so helpful
Honnestly man, this is one if the most complete guides on alchemy I've seen. You really did the work here and deserve a lot more subs.
Thank you! I'm glad you got something out of it!
You really do deserve a lot more views man, only ones who gives all the details.
I appreciate it! I try to focus on quality and the views should follow, thanks for the support!
13:55 Learning how to read is not required in any way as far as I know. I've almost always done some brewing way before I could read, and haven't had any kind of limit of 1 potion per brew. For some reason you can learn the recipes from recipe books even without learning how to read. The only problem there is with not knowing how to read is that it's a bit challenging to comprehend the instructions in the brewing book if you don't know or remember the process for the potion you're brewing.
But great video as always!
That's very true, you can learn the recipes before learning how to read but I recommended to learn reading first for a couple reasons. One, like you mentioned it's next to impossible to work out what the recipe says until after learning to read (imagine a new player trying to figure it out lol) and after learning to read each recipe you learn gives reading XP whereas if you read the recipe before it kinda goes to waste
@@Griff_Gaming That reading XP is a good point. I think the first time I brewed most recipes was without knowing how to read, deciphering them is not impossible and it's kinda funny. But yeah, it's better to actually know what each recipe says.
I was just wondering what was that only 1 potion per brew thing you mentioned.
@wombat4191 so I always recommend brewing without boiling, it's just faster that way. If you don't know how to read and haven't learned the recipe, trying to do it without boiling will only ever give one potion at a time. At least in all my tests, after doing the potion correctly and getting "trial and error" it should produce 3 everytime even if you skip boiling the potion
@@Griff_Gaming Oh that's interesting. Didn't know reading skill had that kind of difference.
Re-experiencing this game after all those years, your guides do come in real handy!
Glad they help out!
Very thorough guide my dude! You gonna save people so much time and frustration with this one 🤌
Too bad I couldn't get to you before your million groschen run. I feel like this might have saved you a lot of headaches haha
Nothing will hit me harder than doing the energy drink potion quest for Cpt. Bernard, and then him telling me he'd just dump all 30 bottles of my gourmet historically accurate Monster Energy Zero Ultra into a single barrel. Mind Blown.
Gonna be some really wired up soldiers lol
You are such a good content creator!! I just came through your channel with the video oj the best armour, amazing guides!! I am replaying the game to get ready for KCD 2 ,finally!! Looking forward to see your guides on the sequel. Subbed ❤
Thank you for the support and glad the guides are helping you out!! I can't wait for the next game either. Gonna be so much fun breaking it down!
This is the content I need man so informative
Glad you enjoyed and got something out of it!!
My Bois when is kcd2 coming man? Nice vid as always.
Thank you! Trust me, I wish I knew! Soon as I hear any news I promise I'll make sure to pass it along
It's been announced!
I find making the potions to be a relaxing activity. So I almost never used the auto-brew option. I found Bundle + Snake Oil to be a better perk combo for me.
I love the mechanic, don't get me wrong. At this point it's just gotten a bit repetitive but I also have over 4k hours in the game. I'm sure when KCD 2 is released, maybe there's some new recipes or new mechanics might renew my love for it again
On the one hand, it is a bit daunting to engage with all of KCD extensive and complex systems, but after getting the hang of it the game is so much fun.
Completely agree. The game makes you work for almost everything, even repairing your weapons on the wheel took some getting used to but once you get it, you just appreciate it because when you mix a potion, sharpen a sword, pick a lock, or pull off a combo that's you actually getting better at the game rather than just a number getting bigger, therefore you do more damage. Part of the reason I love this game
@@Griff_Gaming I don’t want to just throw around the word “immersion” because that’s never necessarily been a priority for me, but I’ve never felt more in tune with what my character in a video game is capable of. Henry can do only what I can do. We grow together. It’s one of the most rewarding progressions I’ve ever made in a game.
Holy shit the lullaby in cooking pots is so clutch. Pots staying poisoned whole game is too OP
It's a pretty powerful tool. Works for both poisons and for buffs so if you find a cooking pot nearby to a bed, pop a buff in there and you have it anytime you want for the game lol
Dude I love this game and your content. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the support!
I always pick St. John’s Wort so I can roleplay as someone who isn’t depressed (my doctor says St. John’s Wort interacts with my antidepressants).
Aye thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching!
super useful, thx u so much
Glad it helped!
You dont even need to know the recipes ingame, can look up the recipes and follow them and the recipe will be added to your recipe book after you brew successfully. This will save you bunch of money.
That's true but stealing them doesn't cost any money either. Plus for newer players looking up individual guides for all 25 seperate potions can be a bit tedious but hey if that's what you prefer, you're more than welcome
Crazy, I've been playing this game since it came out but for some reason have always avoided wikis whenever possible, and all my knowledge on the game has been 99% my own findings. Since the announcement of KCD2 I've been going crazy doing playing it way more often than normal, prioritizing it over other games in my library more than normal, and have been watching other people's guides and challenge runs and stuff. I showed up hoping to know how to do alchemy better since it's my second least favorite skill next to Houndmaster, and ended walking away with the confirmation that it's reputation that matters most when selling. I had a feeling but never bothered to properly do tests. Weird I found that out in this video of all places.
It's something I've personally always wondered so decided to test it because I was always someone that chugged Amor and Bard before trading and it helps a little but turns out not as much as I always thought. Glad you learned something and hope it helps with some playthroughs!
Great vid! Just one question do you know how long it takes for herbs to respawn or is it random?
To the best of my knowledge it's about 5 in game days but sometimes (not sure if it's just me miscounting days passed or random) it's up to 10 days. Shouldn't be too long though
@@Griff_Gamingcool thanks man!
DID YOU SEE WARHORSE ANNOUCEMENT ON TWITTER ???
The day might have finally arrived!
New warhorse game reveal next week
Yessir made a post yesterday about 30 seconds after I found out! April 18 !
What control mapping do you use, if any on steam? currently trying to find a good one for a ps5 controller
There should be a preset for playstation on steam and that the one I use for my PS5 controller. And in the pause menu of KCD you can also change the controller layout so the button prompts in gives you are for the Playstation as well
nice an new video
Hope you enjoy!
You can make master craft potions(3 per set of ingredients) without reading. You can even make 4 per craft with no effort for some potions with the perks Trial and Error and Bundle Alchemist.
I mean technically you're right but you have to look up the recipes online for each potion you craft and have to do them exactly to get the correct recipe the first time you craft it. I also don't know anyone who would want Bundle Alchemist over Routine I. So technically you're right, it's usually just faster to buy or steal the potions, read them and craft away to get auto brew
I just came from the 2nd field of Beladonna the one above Rattay and I came up with 176 of them and I might have missed some :) Time to make some Saviour snaps.
Oh wow, so looks like I missed a few lol. Even better!
@@Griff_Gaming well I am playing on normal not hardcore so maybe there is less herbs maybe on hardcore?
@budlikycz2445 maybe but I haven't seen any difference in the amount of herbs I've picked up in Skalitz vary from normal or hardcore mode so I have my doubts
What is the soundtrack starting at 27:25?

@@Griff_Gaming Thanks
I just want to BUY Artemisia potion to heal the dude in time. Where can I BUY potions instead?
Few places. Nicodemus in Sasau, the Rattay apothecary or any of the herb women mostly all sell potions
Their is posion in savior schnapps
Not poison but the poisonous herb, Belladonna. If you have the DLC "A Woman's Lot", Theresa and Bianca even talk about it on their side quest. Pretty cool little interaction
Alchemy is the only skill i dont get
Hopefully this helps a little
@@Griff_Gaming it does thank you so much
