Sievi has shown that safety, high quality and sustainability can go hand in hand. An example of this is the Racer EcoTech® safety shoes, which is made partly from recycled materials without compromising safety.
You will find Sievi products with recycled materials under the SieviGreen concept. The first SieviGreen range of recycled footwear is called Racer EcoTech®. Its design is based on the idea of increasing the use of recycled materials and finding new solutions for the safety shoe manufacturing process that have less impact on the environment. Sievi works closely with its suppliers, always looking for opportunities to increase the use of recycled materials.
Racer EcoTech® footwear comes with a new fastening mechanism, Sievi FastLace®, which has a flexible lace and an easy-to-use mechanism that offers an incredibly quick and comfortable way to put on your shoes. The safety footwear comes with an aluminium toe cap and composite textile penetration resistant midsole. The upper material is very breathable and wear-resistant due to its woven textile structure.
Recycled materials account for 67 % of the total weight of the materials used in the new, extremely soft Sievi Green Comfort insoles. The insole’s surface material is polyamide, which is incredibly wear resistant and transfers moisture from the feet to the lower layer of the insole. Activated carbon and silver thread eliminate microbial growth, making this insole antibacterial and odourless. The heel design keeps the foot’s fat pad in an optimal position, and the insole conforms to the shape of the foot and rebounds to its original shape when the shoe is taken off. The insole is antistatic and ESD-compliant as well as breathable and machine washable at 40 °C.
