  • I decided to build a 10- C's kit to keep in my truck for emergencies. I used odds and ends I had laying around to build this. Add anything else you'd like to be prepared and handle emergencies when they arrive with some BASIC stuff and whatever you feel YOU need. Thanks

Nice, basic load out. I appreciate how you broke it all down to bare minimum. Thanks

For a truck kit in which weight isn't a problem, consider a Woodman's Pal machete, Silky Saw, BPS ax, Marine flares, SureFire flashlight, Lux_Pro headlamp, Photon Micro Light, sunglasses, emergency candles, Leatherman Squirt, Sabre Saw blade, piece of hacksaw blade. Keep a small backpack such as a medium ALICE Pack and if you leave the truck, pack the essentials into the backpack and go.

I agree, I have an old REI grey and black backpack filled with extra food, water shelter and again. another 10-C's kit. Living here in the NE I do keep candles in case stranded in the winter time for heat. I have an axe, saw, heavy rope and tow strap in case of downed trees plus wool blanket and extra coat. I also keep an empty qt. paint can with a roll of toilet paper in it with a bottle of 90% alcohol with it, makes a great emergency heater in winter. Thanks

I agree totally! always practice with your gear. This is just extra gear I had to put together an emergency kit. Lmao... I have a bad habit of having MANY of the same things when I find something that works for me. I have 3 of the SWISS CANTEENS, 8 or 9 of the SOL 2 PERSON E-BLANKETS and more tarps and fire kits than I can count and so on lol. When I find good gear, I use it and become proficient with it. No sense in preparing for an emergency with gear and not knowing how to use it right? Thanks for the comment and have a great day! 😁

Ty... this is just the emergency gear I keep in my truck. I always have a bottle of water and a snack bar or 2 in my EDC bag which goes where I go.. We have a large duffle bag with shelter and clothing (Lol, a large refugee bag) plus a food and water box near the front door so we can grab and go within seconds from home.
