I honestly don’t understand the always online aspect, since you’re just going up against AI cops, it’s not like you’re going against other people. I just think they didn’t think it all the way through.
@@remiemayfallia reasoning I heard for that is that they can control cheaters better. When you play alone offline you can use godmode cheats, money cheats and even DLC unlockers (and thats where the money comes from). I have encountered huge amounts of cheaters in payday 2, even in online lobies.
If there's one thing I'm learning as I grow a bit older and wiser, the gaming community as a whole suffers from impatience. We seem to struggle with being patient and saving our money as well as being patient and letting developers go through the process of making a decent product. At the end of the day, the slop we get is the slop we deserve. We're so keen to throw 30-60 bucks at a half baked product, then lose our minds when the product is half-baked. At what point do we stop screaming and complaining, and just stop spending our money on products that aren't worth it? It just puzzles me.
Imagine opening of a game like payday 3 only to figure out there isn't a single player option so you end up lagging while playing by yourself also you have to have Wi-Fi in order to play by yourself like what the fuc

This month starbreezes are on summer break so we only get blog post, in game events, and the roadmaps this month, but august and September are going to be “big” updates according to them at least

I tried Payday 3 at launch. I refunded because I couldn't even play. I think I'll let them cook for a while longer while I thoroughly enjoy an unexpected delight in the game of Crime Boss Rockay City. They definitely glowed up this game, something I don't expect Payday 3 to really do in the next year or so.
Same here. I considered getting PD2, but I didn't want to spend all of that money on DLCs. Also, there was some issue with crashing that developed or something. Some hearsay said something about a possibility of trying to sabotage PD2 to get people to 3. I dunno if that's true or has anything to back it up, but I chose to just go the safer and cheaper option to go with the one going up instead of the one going down or the one that's uncertain.
@@joethomas8464From my experience, the crashing was mostly solved by validating the steam files. The REAL pain is from infinite load times when trying to join a lobby. Can't really give a solution to the massive amount of dlc, though. It all goes on sale relatively often, but if you don't have the money to begin with, then idk how much that'll help.
we had the same path with pd2 it was referred to as a dead game for years a loyal fanbase knew it will get better we weren't wrong there is now about a 2-3k of us playing, about 500 peak every day we know how it will end devs are just working on one issue at a time while introducing new features just like they did in pd2

for me, any of the Payday games are on both ends of the like/dislike spectrum. I want to love it for being Heat the video game but they sure make it hard for me to. I still feel like, while basic, the first game got the closest to what I'm looking for. but that's kind of to be expected as the series evolves into more of its own thing. A frustrating mess that's almost something beautiful.

Even by Payday content creators and veterans like me, its considered lately one of the Payday 3 WE DESERVED. they've pulled a No Mans Sky! on the game and made alot of improvements. You still have to tolerate the campy Celebrity cast but its a better Payday 3 than what Payday 3 is right now! Been playing it for 50+ hours and more!

Plus dont forget. Year 1 of payday 2 had BOAT loads of free dlc, updates, music, heists. While it now takes ages for Starbreeze to give us table scraps after almost a year using a more streamlined engine like Unreal. Payday 2 ran on a modified racing game engine from the early early 2000s, Diesel Engine.
@@enobekuJ well what I meant by that is free major updates with heists, guns, music, heisters, etc. so not technically DLC but it includes the same content that is inside DLC. Diamond store for example. That was a free heist given to everyone who played or the event heists.

But I also feel having to work around such a limited and old engine like Diesel would be much harder than the modern and more accessible Unreal. Game development isnt easy, but it certainly has to be easier than what they were using. It had been in development since 2016 as well. I think it has more to do with poor leadership than what software they are using
I gotta say my biggest payday 3 complaint was the leveling system. Although I still feel like weapon leveling is a slog, general leveling is a lot better now. I do think now it's an alright game to just blow some time with friends
Not enough people complain about the fact that dead zones aren’t changeable, you’re stuck with the default deadzones which are set really stupidly high, meaning the aiming and gunplay feels like shit. I swear they didn’t even playtest it
I still have a good amount of hope for this game, after they finally fixed progression so it’s way less grindy and changed how perks work a bit I actually found myself having some fun with some of my friends who hadn’t given up on it yet (since we were all fans of pd2). They really just need to add some more unique perks decks and weapons I think and also PLEASE PLEASE more unique heist objectives. Hopefully with the somewhat steady flow of content we’re supposed to be getting for the next few months they can prove this game still has potential.

I love payday 3 and no one can stop me from loving it. The launch was very rough but what starbreeze have done so far (and what they promise to do) has been great. Regarding a lack of updates, I come from console payday 2, so I am VERY used to having to wait (and in pd2’s case, an infinite wait) for content or changes. The music imo is on par with pd2, and if even say that some heist have better music than some of my favourite payday 2 tracks (nothing will ‘ever beat I will give you my all’, ‘razormind’ and ‘now we wait’ because they are my all time favourite video game OSTs). The gameplay is very solid, the guns feel great, the game is a massive graphical step up, the movement is a lot less janky, the ai is mostly better, dozers are an actual threat (though in exchange the tasers/zappers are much less of a threat now)… the list just goes on. Maybe I’m blinded from other issues, biased because of my love for the payday franchise, or just outright stupid, but I love payday 3 and always will.
Same, I’m just scared the game will lose support after they release all the planned DLC. If they can somehow increase their team to release updates faster it can actually save the game no doubt. The updates they release are good but it takes WAY TOO long.
I find it bad that I genuinely enjoyed 3 more than 2 I had so many issues on 2 playing on Xbox one I had severe lag issues that never really got fixed, they just became more manageable, and I’m not saying internet lag I mean my download of the game was just broken, payday 3 was surprisingly fun when I played it, I never look at the series and a serious game, it’s a fun little bank robber simulator that has scary stealth men

I feel like maybe something is wrong with me because I'm the only one of my friends-and the general public it seems-who genuinely enjoys PD3. I do agree with some of your points though. My biggest gripe being no loadout customization in the pregame lobbies...idk, maybe I play too many F2P and indie games so I'm just used to a little jankiness in my games, but so far I've really enjoyed my time in PD3 and I can't wait to see what the devs do with it next and I really hope they can bring it to a state where it attracts more players soon. I agree with you in most terms but remember that Payday 3 released a few months back and Payday 2 ( a peak game ofc) took years to be the goat. So just let Payday 3 COOK! (in a year or 2)

I'm one of the few people who still keep up and play pd3 i've loved this franchise all way back to PDTH and pd3 did launch in a horrible state and lack of content and i agree the game was lack luster and needed more time to be cooked...nothing to say now as we are in the present and the current situation is not bad sbz has been putting out good updates with features and content and we are getting new UI and the server browser FINALLY CRIME NET in the upcoming 2 updates in august and september along with the rest of the year one dlc (land of the free and fear and greed)and also a free heist...as for offline mode we only have the solo mode which requires wifi to play it basically u connect to pd3 and then boom u play solo,but offline is coming very soon might be related with the upcoming updates or could be for october I hope this game recovers and gets more content this game has lots of potential if sbz works hard and nail their plans and listens to us

The ai is also very good. With some the police being very good not the best but the police goes behind shield’s better then call of duty ai that can’t shoot for shit. Also fun fact the ecm is able to stop the dye packs from breaking the cash
Winters is ass if you don't have something that he is weak against. To be fair, he is weak to some shotgun ammo, all the sniper rifles, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, molotovs, grenades, saws, tripmines, AP sentries and probably some other stuff, but there were multiple occasions where the whole lobby was wiped one by one simply because we did not bring any outlandish stuff. FBI van still poses a challenge of getting to it through empowered cops, but it does not make you waste your overkill weapon on it, for example

Actually when you talked about all specials spawning in Payday 3 lower difficulties. When they added the new marksman and flashbang shield enemies to Payday 2 they spawn in Normal now marksman sharpshooter is fine BUT THE FLASHBANG SHIELD IS THE WORST ENEMY IN PAYDAY 2 ESPECIALLY FOR NEW PLAYERS WITH MOTION SICKNESS why? You can destroy the flashbang shield AND HE GETS GOD MODE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND HE HAS ENOUGH TIME TO SHOOT YOU WITH A CONCUSSION BEANBAG SHOTGUN THAT CAN HIT YOU FROM VERY FAR AWAY TOO i watched 2 new players stream the game both with motion sickness and they just gave up they have no idea what enemy is shooting them that concussions them cause they get sick trying to play Payday 2 with blurry ass screen
So glad i never bought PD3 and only tried it via Game pass. It was fun to play for like 2 days, till i noticed all the stuff missing or overall issues. Plus the lack of guns, like come on even how hard is it to make more than 15 weapons.
The problem I have with Payday 3 (the most prevalent of the thousands, of course) is that the influence of AI is rampant. The art in art gallery is AI, the character portraits are AI (you can see this with the inconsistent lighting and odd-looking hair wisps in Shade's portraits), the non-player voices are just blatantly AI- like Shade sounds straight outta midjourney, and I can't stand listening to her. The most problematic part of this is objectives, which were pretty clearly spat out by AI because none of this makes sense, everything is finding a small unmarked object or standing in a circle because of stuff like "hack the wifi" or "hack the geolocating" or "hack the QR code on the phone" like wut??? Aren't we supposed to be drilling and exploding our way in like HEISTERS? It really shows how much the development teams have been cut out of this that they have to use publicly available (and highly flawed) software to patch holes in the game they're developing just so that it can come out on time (in a disastrous state).
I kinda miss the paid DLCs in PD2 at least they are providing enough new content to play with. Currently PD3 only has very few heists and easily got bored.

Payday 3’s stealth is a trillion times better than Payday 2’s stealth. Payday 2 has some of the worst stealth gameplay I’ve ever seen in a video game. While there are good stealth heists in Payday 2 like the Yacht Heist or Shadow Raid, Payday 2’s stealth gameplay itself was awful. You have so much more freedom, equipment, and overall forgiveness with Payday 3’s stealth.
It sucks and is amazing because the core gameplay mechanics are awesome, the stealth is the best of any game I’ve played yet everything else in the game sucks. There is almost no replay-ability due to the heists being the exact same every time (except a few objectives moving location) but there is no random chance events, no secret endings, no real optional objectives (because even the one in boys and blue doesn’t give you anything for completing). It’s just sad, it could be so good but they refuse to give it the budget it needs
I can respect the changes made to wacky weapons and stuff as hoping to make the game more realistic and similar to the first game, and so far they’ve pretty much stuck to that, but knowing Payday I will probably end up wrong in a year or two when we for some reason rob the whitehouse a second time. Hope it stays a bit more grounded this time around, the spoon is funny but idk if it’s a fit for 3.
Entirely agree. As much as I love the goofy bullshit in payday 2, for the longest time it seemed like I was the only bloke who wanted payday 3 to be different. I don't want spoons and money bundles, stoic and white house robberies. I want it to be grounded, and thankfully that's where they're going with it for now But I do wish they didn't shun the story of payday 2, I actually quite liked the super natural side of things. It shook up the story and made it more interesting, but it's hardly mentioned if at all in payday 3

A lot of misinformation in this video possibly unintentionally. Maybe you played it when it first came out, but I bought the game and played recently, and not once was I put into a lobby with no one. Every game I matched I played with other players. The player count has improved to the point where it is no longer a ghost town. The only time I was alone was when I purposefully started my own matches.
payday 3 can still be saved. Yes, all they had to do was update payday 2 mechanics (lets all be honest here, the stealth was shit in PD2) and graphics, but people also seem to forget PD2 launched in a pretty shitty state as well that needed content and heists in order to actually make it a success. Give us the old armor system back, re-do the skills and skill tree's, offline mode (which is being worked on), drop that shitty edge, grit, and rush system, and give us more content (which I know is being worked on) and PD3 will be in a much better state and will probably hit positive reviews. As long as Starbreeze and Overkill are willing to put forth the effort to work on it and make the changes, then PD3 will be a great game.

PD2 devs crunched a lot to make all of this happen, while with unreal you need to do tons more to achieve the same frequency of content

I still have a good amount of hope for this game, after they finally fixed progression so it’s way less grindy and changed how perks work a bit I actually found myself having some fun with some of my friends who hadn’t given up on it yet (since we were all fans of pd2). They really just need to add some more unique perks decks and weapons I think and also PLEASE PLEASE more unique heist objectives. Hopefully with the somewhat steady flow of content we’re supposed to be getting for the next few months they can prove this game still has potential.

I love payday 3 and no one can stop me from loving it. The launch was very rough but what starbreeze have done so far (and what they promise to do) has been great. Regarding a lack of updates, I come from console payday 2, so I am VERY used to having to wait (and in pd2’s case, an infinite wait) for content or changes. The music imo is on par with pd2, and if even say that some heist have better music than some of my favourite payday 2 tracks (nothing will ‘ever beat I will give you my all’, ‘razormind’ and ‘now we wait’ because they are my all time favourite video game OSTs). The gameplay is very solid, the guns feel great, the game is a massive graphical step up, the movement is a lot less janky, the ai is mostly better, dozers are an actual threat (though in exchange the tasers/zappers are much less of a threat now)… the list just goes on. Maybe I’m blinded from other issues, biased because of my love for the payday franchise, or just outright stupid, but I love payday 3 and always will.
Same, I’m just scared the game will lose support after they release all the planned DLC. If they can somehow increase their team to release updates faster it can actually save the game no doubt. The updates they release are good but it takes WAY TOO long.
I find it bad that I genuinely enjoyed 3 more than 2 I had so many issues on 2 playing on Xbox one I had severe lag issues that never really got fixed, they just became more manageable, and I’m not saying internet lag I mean my download of the game was just broken, payday 3 was surprisingly fun when I played it, I never look at the series and a serious game, it’s a fun little bank robber simulator that has scary stealth men

I feel like maybe something is wrong with me because I'm the only one of my friends-and the general public it seems-who genuinely enjoys PD3. I do agree with some of your points though. My biggest gripe being no loadout customization in the pregame lobbies...idk, maybe I play too many F2P and indie games so I'm just used to a little jankiness in my games, but so far I've really enjoyed my time in PD3 and I can't wait to see what the devs do with it next and I really hope they can bring it to a state where it attracts more players soon. I agree with you in most terms but remember that Payday 3 released a few months back and Payday 2 ( a peak game ofc) took years to be the goat. So just let Payday 3 COOK! (in a year or 2)
The updates have been way slower though, Payday 2 received so many more content updates in its first year.

I'm one of the few people who still keep up and play pd3 i've loved this franchise all way back to PDTH and pd3 did launch in a horrible state and lack of content and i agree the game was lack luster and needed more time to be cooked...nothing to say now as we are in the present and the current situation is not bad sbz has been putting out good updates with features and content and we are getting new UI and the server browser FINALLY CRIME NET in the upcoming 2 updates in august and september along with the rest of the year one dlc (land of the free and fear and greed)and also a free heist...as for offline mode we only have the solo mode which requires wifi to play it basically u connect to pd3 and then boom u play solo,but offline is coming very soon might be related with the upcoming updates or could be for october
I hope this game recovers and gets more content this game has lots of potential if sbz works hard and nail their plans and listens to us

I currently love payday 3, yeah I know the flaws but I been having a blast with the game out of all of modern gaming and the greedy practices payday 3 does not show a lot of that greed as other company’s like activison blizzard, the dlc heist are good and it the team at starbreezs realize the problem they did about a game and admitted they messed up.
The ai is also very good. With some the police being very good not the best but the police goes behind shield’s better then call of duty ai that can’t shoot for shit. Also fun fact the ecm is able to stop the dye packs from breaking the cash
Winters is ass if you don't have something that he is weak against. To be fair, he is weak to some shotgun ammo, all the sniper rifles, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, molotovs, grenades, saws, tripmines, AP sentries and probably some other stuff, but there were multiple occasions where the whole lobby was wiped one by one simply because we did not bring any outlandish stuff. FBI van still poses a challenge of getting to it through empowered cops, but it does not make you waste your overkill weapon on it, for example
Payday 3 can make a comeback if they listen to the community like before

I think payday 3 needs to realize that payday players don’t want realistic, we want fun. Yeah it’s realistic to bring a rifle with a pistol, but it’s fun to bring a mini gun with a flamethrower and a military worth of gernades

Actually when you talked about all specials spawning in Payday 3 lower difficulties. When they added the new marksman and flashbang shield enemies to Payday 2 they spawn in Normal now marksman sharpshooter is fine BUT THE FLASHBANG SHIELD IS THE WORST ENEMY IN PAYDAY 2 ESPECIALLY FOR NEW PLAYERS WITH MOTION SICKNESS why? You can destroy the flashbang shield AND HE GETS GOD MODE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND HE HAS ENOUGH TIME TO SHOOT YOU WITH A CONCUSSION BEANBAG SHOTGUN THAT CAN HIT YOU FROM VERY FAR AWAY TOO i watched 2 new players stream the game both with motion sickness and they just gave up they have no idea what enemy is shooting them that concussions them cause they get sick trying to play Payday 2 with blurry ass screen
So glad i never bought PD3 and only tried it via Game pass. It was fun to play for like 2 days, till i noticed all the stuff missing or overall issues. Plus the lack of guns, like come on even how hard is it to make more than 15 weapons.
The problem I have with Payday 3 (the most prevalent of the thousands, of course) is that the influence of AI is rampant. The art in art gallery is AI, the character portraits are AI (you can see this with the inconsistent lighting and odd-looking hair wisps in Shade's portraits), the non-player voices are just blatantly AI- like Shade sounds straight outta midjourney, and I can't stand listening to her. The most problematic part of this is objectives, which were pretty clearly spat out by AI because none of this makes sense, everything is finding a small unmarked object or standing in a circle because of stuff like "hack the wifi" or "hack the geolocating" or "hack the QR code on the phone" like wut??? Aren't we supposed to be drilling and exploding our way in like HEISTERS?
It really shows how much the development teams have been cut out of this that they have to use publicly available (and highly flawed) software to patch holes in the game they're developing just so that it can come out on time (in a disastrous state).

Did you enable crossplay? Back before the quickplay if you enabled cross play you could always consistently find full lobbies..

Payday 3’s stealth is a trillion times better than Payday 2’s stealth. Payday 2 has some of the worst stealth gameplay I’ve ever seen in a video game. While there are good stealth heists in Payday 2 like the Yacht Heist or Shadow Raid, Payday 2’s stealth gameplay itself was awful. You have so much more freedom, equipment, and overall forgiveness with Payday 3’s stealth.

It sucks and is amazing because the core gameplay mechanics are awesome, the stealth is the best of any game I’ve played yet everything else in the game sucks. There is almost no replay-ability due to the heists being the exact same every time (except a few objectives moving location) but there is no random chance events, no secret endings, no real optional objectives (because even the one in boys and blue doesn’t give you anything for completing). It’s just sad, it could be so good but they refuse to give it the budget it needs

Hope it stays a bit more grounded this time around, the spoon is funny but idk if it’s a fit for 3.

Entirely agree. As much as I love the goofy bullshit in payday 2, for the longest time it seemed like I was the only bloke who wanted payday 3 to be different. I don't want spoons and money bundles, stoic and white house robberies. I want it to be grounded, and thankfully that's where they're going with it for now
But I do wish they didn't shun the story of payday 2, I actually quite liked the super natural side of things. It shook up the story and made it more interesting, but it's hardly mentioned if at all in payday 3
Cyberpunk gave out refunds but not this atleast cyberpunk was enjoyable at broken this is still trash to this day, games still soulless and boring got such a minimal selection at hand and for a “upgrade” from 2 to 3 you’d think it would be better content at hand

If you play all the time on hard spoiler. NOBODY plays on hard difficulty anymore. Try to find lobby on overkill you will find lobby without an issue

I very much like payday 3's more "grounded" approach to gameplay, I think it'd be a great alternative to payday 2 which is insanely wacky and over the top ridiculous. Unfortunately it seems that the audience for a more grounded payday 3 are the minority. I'm hoping they find a way to make this vision of payday 3 more appealing to the masses, because if they just give up and try to make payday 2 again they will just fail and the game will be shut down

A lot of misinformation in this video possibly unintentionally. Maybe you played it when it first came out, but I bought the game and played recently, and not once was I put into a lobby with no one. Every game I matched I played with other players. The player count has improved to the point where it is no longer a ghost town. The only time I was alone was when I purposefully started my own matches.

payday 3 can still be saved. Yes, all they had to do was update payday 2 mechanics (lets all be honest here, the stealth was shit in PD2) and graphics, but people also seem to forget PD2 launched in a pretty shitty state as well that needed content and heists in order to actually make it a success.
Give us the old armor system back, re-do the skills and skill tree's, offline mode (which is being worked on), drop that shitty edge, grit, and rush system, and give us more content (which I know is being worked on) and PD3 will be in a much better state and will probably hit positive reviews. As long as Starbreeze and Overkill are willing to put forth the effort to work on it and make the changes, then PD3 will be a great game.
