I must say my best painting efforts have been when I was disconnected from my predisposition to form-focus. I am now using a much larger brush that I once thought ridiculous. If you want a liberation from the world stop trying to micromanage every little brush stroke and let it go. Keep the larger, blurrier view at heart and stop overmixing your colors.

Thx bob; inspiring and on a more practical level, very helpful. Curious, how much paint did you use, approx, for this painting. One of the things I’m struggling with trying to economize on paint due to cost vs how doing holds me back from letting loose.
