My question is; Why would Jasper kill Quiet? That just goes against how prides work. I don't get it. Pride males are in such a precarious position ( they need the females for support and hunting ( not to metion cubs)) Quiet was one of his cubs so it makes no sense. Tyrants, like Jasper, would've likely been ran off, or killed, by the females.
@@witchyartist1276 We know how actual lion prides work. We're not aiming to be super realistic. That's never been the agenda. That would actually mean more infanticide than less. Not to mention we have these lions forming medieval societies and knowing what plants/gemstones are when it comes to their names. The opportunity to be National Geographic went out the window long ago. lol In any case, Jasper didn't kill Quiet. Our main antagonist, Edge, did. He's a dictator who controls Jasper's pride and other prides in the area. Jasper tried to offer Quiet up as a betrothal for Edge's son, Fade, in Adamant's place (as she's the stronger cub). Edge - unfortunately - said no and killed her as a warning. Because these are anthropomorphic lions, there are laws in our world that prevent the harming of cubs and rulers abusing their power. Unfortunately, that doesn't automatically mean it protects anyone from harm. For example: Vicious, Clever and Careful would be well within their right to chase off Jasper according to these laws but abusive relationships aren't solved as easily as that. Vicious and Careful feel that they need Jasper and he's completely manipulated them into thinking they can't survive on their own, which leaves Clever outnumbered and in a situation of wanting Jasper gone but also not wanting to fall out with her sisters. :c
You're Welcome! And as an animal enthusiast, I applaud some of the things added into this. I really like how you guys depicted the relationship between lions and spotted hyenas. The lionesses can hold their own, and will try to fight them, but it's the males who are the real hyena killers.
Can someone please tell me that those two get everything coming to them and learned everything they did was wrong and suffer a slow and painful death near the end!?!?!?!??!?!?
the part where Vicious tries to find an excuse after hurting Hope reminds me a lot of the behavior of a person who knows he's wrong but doesn't admit it

As a fan of My Pride, I can certainly say that the writing here with Hope’s disability is beautiful. I especially love this. While I love My Pride and will always hold a special place for it in my heart, this story is simply better written and has better representation. Thank you so much I Hope So writers!! 💖💖💖

And also a bit of an edit on my part - *As a fan of My Pride, I can say that while I love the show, the writing with Hope’s disability is far more respectful than Nothing’s writing. I have nothing against the creator or the show, but it could’ve been better written in some areas of the story. I’m glad that this comic took the flaws in My Pride and corrected them while still maintaining an original story. I greatly appreciate everyone’s dedication to a powerful and engaging story!!

I'm guessing Hopeful is one, a Dreamer that is. Because of her dreams of the Traveler during the comic. Just a guess but that's still cool and amazing gift to have.

I like how the little mythology segments in between the chapters help give context to some of the terminology and culture the lions use. Its a really neat way to include some exposition without any characters needing to explain to the audience
Hey, and thank you so much for coming to watch Episode 3! For a few reasons, there have been a few people who have mentioned that this story is very similar to "My Pride!" Let's clear this up for anyone wondering! I Hope So started out as a My Pride AU, where Detective Calico decided to present in comic form, but ultimately decided that building their own world and characters from the ground up was a better way to tell the story they wanted to tell. They have done their best to do things as differently as they could - but obviously, they knew from the beginning that there would be similarities between the two stories. This is inevitable, given the origins of the comic, which is why the show is cited as an inspiration and has been since the comic began almost two years ago. Of course, we are not too concerned that people point out the similarities because they are there! However, please remain aware that this dub is a fan project and a lot of individuals worked super hard to put this project together. All we want to do is bring Detective Calico's work to life - and I have zero control over the comic's plot line or characters (which do develop into their own thing entirely in time.) With that being said, thank you for your ongoing support! Here's to the wonderful VAs!

These dubs take a really long time to produce and a lot of effort and energy so all I can say so far is ‘when it’s ready.’ I’m not sure when it will be, but I want to make keep producing it on a level that’s fun and enjoyable for me. My favorite pride! Love Obsidian and Opal, fav granddads. And Diamond is everything. The VA's did perfect for them. And Ary just continues to punch me in the emotions with their amazing voice acting. A perfect choice for Hope Things getting JUICY now. and sad :(

Okay, this is better than My Pride. The characters are written so well, the story is consistent and it baffled me when I figured out they killed Quiet, and I immediately had a suspicion the moment Adamant said she was missing. I love Clever and Hope’s relationship and she treats Hope more of a daughter than Vicious does. And I love how Hope’s sisters don’t hate Hope they actually like her and they have a bond. I personally can’t wait to see their relationship develop through the series. I can’t wait for more 💯👌🏼

My Pride has some good things and bad things to it, I Hope So to me is written better, I feel like the characters flow well, and the story is an interesting idea. I think their are some details that My Pride lacks and this series does it better. I wasn’t trying to be rude just expressing my opinion, I totally respect those who think differently. Storms voice actor is so good!!! And the story so far is so cool! I must say though, the dialogue does get a bittt clunky (esp with Diamond talking to the king!) and I think it could use a few more reruns to cut out extra words! But seriously its such a small detail idm haha, the extra words just make more time to hear the awesome VAs!

YO I just realized diamond is disabled too!!! Sorry, newcomer here. I love that both Hope and diamond are born the way they are, and the struggle we see in both their lives. Being paralyzed from the knees down myself, I love the varied representation in disability. Idk if you'll see this but I just wanted to say seeing diamond made me happy, and I love that their family has no doubts and even expects them to lead a VERY important life. Can't wait to see more of them!! (But of course I will be patient 😁)

I can relate. I have a disability myself. I get it. I have autism. And It’s hard being born the way you are. And I can relate to Hope being treated badly because of her disability. My mother judged me on my disability because it affected my learning and how I see things the opposite way. But remember, despite having a disability, you are who you are, and you have people that care about you and don’t judge you on your disability, you are you. And this is for all the people who have disabilities. I had a childhood friend who’s a guy that supported me all the way. He went through the same thing. But he got a scar from an animal. And his parents didn’t protect him. And when I saw him with that scar. I went, “ok, what did you two do to him? You didn’t protect your own son? That’s just pathetic. Maybe you two don’t deserve to be his parents”. And he agreed with me and said, “this is no longer my home. And you’re no longer my parents. And she’s right. You don’t deserve to take care of me. The one who deserves my support and comfort is my best friend. Enjoy your life, mr and mrs quagmire”. And when me and him got time alone. I said, “you didn’t have to do that. I mean, now who’s gonna take care of you?” And then, I had an idea, “I’m meeting a few friends of mine at echo lake. Maybe you can come along and along the way, we can take care of each other?” And then, he said, “the real reason I left was because I wanted to be where you were, princess. That’s the thing that was important to me. My parents treated me like garbage. Then you showed up into my life when we were little. You treated me like I was something and a somebody to you. And I would do anything to be with you”. And then, I went “I would do anything to be with you, too. We’ll look out for each other and teach each other everything we know. We’ll make an amazing team”. And then, we met my friends at echo lake. Half of the way, we made a few friends. Then, one night when I was alone with a blonde haired girl named Kiara. She went, “you got the hots for your friend, don’t you?”. I went, “so what if I do? I don’t even know how to tell him”. She realized, “I think you told your feelings to him already. All you need to do is confirm that love you have for him”. She was right. We confirmed our love. And then, we bumped into a lion cub and took care of him. When we returned him, Kiara said, “Hayden, are you crying?”. He said, “I’m fine. I’m happy he found his mother. He’s back where he belongs now and that’s what’s important. I said, “and it’s thanks to us. We’re awesome”. We continued to echo lake. Then, we bumped into two friends of mine. They also came along. We made it echo lake. Then, the weirdest thing happened. Hayden disappeared. When I heard the news, my heart was broken. He was gone. A few years later, two animals were being attacked. I protected them. And when I pinned the lion. Then I realized, it was Hayden. The two animals were like, “Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Time out. Letus get this straight. You know her. She knows you. But she wants to eat us. And everybody’s okay with that?”. Then, me and him managed to get some time alone together. Just the two of us. We had a magical time. Until, I made my move. It was magical and not what I expected I would do. Then, I figured that Hayden’s friends were crying and snorting. And then, we became boyfriend and girlfriend after that night
honestly, I enjoyed my pride and hope to see more from them, but I do feel this series really takes the concept and excels at it. My pride has a habit of...inadvertently being very mean. We are meant to try and feel empathy for those who treated nothing bad, but they didn't really earn it. Their actions never showed them learning to accept her and were just mean. Here it was nice to see the progression from hope's sister's learning to accept her and see her worth, even if she struggles. And her mother clearly loved her and showed it, but as time went on she grew more distant from her daughter, and she was manipulated by a bad 'king' into being more dismissive of the daughter she once protected. So bad things do still have room for some understanding and empathy, but not excused. I also appreciate that storm wasn't so explosive or mean to hope. I actually didn't like the romance between hover and nothing. Hover was..pretty mean to nothing but we are told it's supposed to be romantic but it really wasn't. I really look forward to seeing this series get explored more! The creator has done an amazing job and your dub of it is really nice :D
My pride, step aside. This is an equally as stunning show! The characters, the story, the problems all seem so real and tie together perfectly. I’m especially excited for Diamond at what the lore has in store for them.

This series is so good I can’t wait for the next one! The story line is great too! I like how Hope and her sisters actually get along and have a bond! I also think it’s cool how Clever is more like a mum to Hope then her actual mum is! Anyways I really like it! It’s so exciting and I wasn’t bored for a second! So great job 👍🏻!
The dub is going great so far! I loved each of the voices already, but I think this episode was where they all got to really shine!! Can't wait for the next episode but until then wonderful work everyone!!

This is SO much better then My Pride, the characters are written so well, it’s more drama, and we can’t forget that you don’t use FOREVER to post an episode, unlike my pride, who by the way didn’t even FUCKING end the story, and just left us on a cliffhanger like tf. Hey, first off, love this series, I'm popping in with a long comment after ya'll got me hooked, which then prompted me to read the comic (I won't spoil anything I promise lol). I've been trying to mentally analyze the characters but then decided to just put it into comment form, so be prepared for me to ramble a lot lol. I like how Adamant and Quiet are somewhat standoffish with Hope at first because as her younger sisters who are favored by their toxic parents it would make them look down upon her since being the 'golden children' would make them more inclined to listen to their parents who would be spewing tongue lashings against Hope. (Note that Hope calls Jasper "father" while Adamant calls Jasper "dad"), But both later open up to her when they realize that despite only having three legs, she was still willing to give it her all on her first hunt and not complain about it. Which gives her some cool big sister points in their book. Question, why was Adamant so sure that their parents didn't care about Quiet's disappearance when all they did was walk by? Does she think they heard her talking to Hope about it and the fact they didn't question it was enough to set her off? Or is it in her character to jump to conclusions and start fights because of it? Or was it because she saw how harshly they treated Hope and started going over their interactions in her head? Then again their pride is so small it'd be hard not to miss one of their members. Of course, gotta love Auntie Clever who seems to be the one with the braincell among her sisters.😊Speaking of, I'm convinced Vicious is a definite morally grey character, because I don't think she's evil. I don't doubt that she loves her cubs, seeing how she pleaded with Jasper to let Hope live and her obvious regret when she strikes her here, despite covering it up soon after. But something is making her act out. My best guess is fear, which would NOT mesh well with a barbed and short-tempered personality like hers. No, I'm not trying to justify her actions, I'm trying to give her a character driven reason for why, but she is still very much in the wrong with her treatment of Hope with her misguided ways of keeping her 'safe'. Storm had me confused for awhile as to what they were until I read the responses to the comments and realized "oh, that's a female that appears to be a male due to the mane". I like her voice, even though I was a bit off put by it at first, makes me think of a excitable go getter personality. Diamond is pretty cool, I like the contrast between them and Hope, one who is disabled yet get's along perfectly fine and no one judges them for it, meanwhile Hope can also get on fine yet doesn't realize she can since she is looked down upon for her lack of a leg. A nice foil to show how while someone may be disabled, it doesn't make them any less than those around them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the people around them is what helps them flourish or wilt, at least in these instances. Though I can't comment too much on it since I myself am not disabled. So please correct me if I'm wrong at all here about anything. Congratulations if you read to the end because I'm very wordy with analyzing stuff lol XD.

I love the aunt in this story, and how she treats "Ray"; just the whole entire storyline is amazing, especially the story with the lioness who transformed into an oasis to heal other lions and lionesses! Beautiful! Both me and my sis loved that story! We also loved that you incorporated two animals of the same gender romantically together. So cute!

Diamond is like a character in a books named warrior cats one of these characters name is briarlight, she is Brown with blue eyes and have the legs just as Diamond
And I think Careful also does care a little bit for Hope too, only as her name says; She is careful with her emotions (that's in her Toyhouse) She made a face of disappointment/pity when Hope was named Hopeless.

These dubs take a really long time to produce and a lot of effort and energy so all I can say so far is ‘when it’s ready.’ I’m not sure when it will be, but I want to make keep producing it on a level that’s fun and enjoyable for me. I would estimate an October release date.
My favorite pride! Love Obsidian and Opal, fav granddads. And Diamond is everything. The VA's did perfect for them. And Ary just continues to punch me in the emotions with their amazing voice acting. A perfect choice for Hope

Okay, this is better than My Pride. The characters are written so well, the story is consistent and it baffled me when I figured out they killed Quiet, and I immediately had a suspicion the moment Adamant said she was missing. I love Clever and Hope’s relationship and she treats Hope more of a daughter than Vicious does. And I love how Hope’s sisters don’t hate Hope they actually like her and they have a bond. I personally can’t wait to see their relationship develop through the series. I can’t wait for more 💯👌🏼

My Pride has some good things and bad things to it, I Hope So to me is written better, I feel like the characters flow well, and the story is an interesting idea. I think their are some details that My Pride lacks and this series does it better. I wasn’t trying to be rude just expressing my opinion, I totally respect those who think differently. what I liked the most here is Hope's relationship with her aunt and the other lionesses, they all seem to get along well except for her mother.

I always thought storm was a male but just with a high pitched voice cause of her mane
Storms voice actor is so good!!! And the story so far is so cool! I must say though, the dialogue does get a bittt clunky (esp with Diamond talking to the king!) and I think it could use a few more reruns to cut out extra words! But seriously its such a small detail idm haha, the extra words just make more time to hear the awesome VAs!

YO I just realized diamond is disabled too!!! Sorry, newcomer here. I love that both Hope and diamond are born the way they are, and the struggle we see in both their lives. Being paralyzed from the knees down myself, I love the varied representation in disability. Idk if you'll see this but I just wanted to say seeing diamond made me happy, and I love that their family has no doubts and even expects them to lead a VERY important life. Can't wait to see more of them!! (But of course I will be patient 😁)

I can relate. I have a disability myself. I get it. I have autism. And It’s hard being born the way you are. And I can relate to Hope being treated badly because of her disability. My mother judged me on my disability because it affected my learning and how I see things the opposite way. But remember, despite having a disability, you are who you are, and you have people that care about you and don’t judge you on your disability, you are you. And this is for all the people who have disabilities. I had a childhood friend who’s a guy that supported me all the way. He went through the same thing. But he got a scar from an animal. And his parents didn’t protect him. And when I saw him with that scar. I went, “ok, what did you two do to him? You didn’t protect your own son? That’s just pathetic. Maybe you two don’t deserve to be his parents”. And he agreed with me and said, “this is no longer my home. And you’re no longer my parents. And she’s right. You don’t deserve to take care of me. The one who deserves my support and comfort is my best friend. Enjoy your life, mr and mrs quagmire”. And when me and him got time alone. I said, “you didn’t have to do that. I mean, now who’s gonna take care of you?” And then, I had an idea, “I’m meeting a few friends of mine at echo lake. Maybe you can come along and along the way, we can take care of each other?” And then, he said, “the real reason I left was because I wanted to be where you were, princess. That’s the thing that was important to me. My parents treated me like garbage. Then you showed up into my life when we were little. You treated me like I was something and a somebody to you. And I would do anything to be with you”. And then, I went “I would do anything to be with you, too. We’ll look out for each other and teach each other everything we know. We’ll make an amazing team”. And then, we met my friends at echo lake. Half of the way, we made a few friends. Then, one night when I was alone with a blonde haired girl named Kiara. She went, “you got the hots for your friend, don’t you?”. I went, “so what if I do? I don’t even know how to tell him”. She realized, “I think you told your feelings to him already. All you need to do is confirm that love you have for him”. She was right. We confirmed our love. And then, we bumped into a lion cub and took care of him. When we returned him, Kiara said, “Hayden, are you crying?”. He said, “I’m fine. I’m happy he found his mother. He’s back where he belongs now and that’s what’s important. I said, “and it’s thanks to us. We’re awesome”. We continued to echo lake. Then, we bumped into two friends of mine. They also came along. We made it echo lake. Then, the weirdest thing happened. Hayden disappeared. When I heard the news, my heart was broken. He was gone. A few years later, two animals were being attacked. I protected them. And when I pinned the lion. Then I realized, it was Hayden. The two animals were like, “Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Time out. Letus get this straight. You know her. She knows you. But she wants to eat us. And everybody’s okay with that?”. Then, me and him managed to get some time alone together. Just the two of us. We had a magical time. Until, I made my move. It was magical and not what I expected I would do. Then, I figured that Hayden’s friends were crying and snorting. And then, we became boyfriend and girlfriend after that night
honestly, I enjoyed my pride and hope to see more from them, but I do feel this series really takes the concept and excels at it. My pride has a habit of...inadvertently being very mean. We are meant to try and feel empathy for those who treated nothing bad, but they didn't really earn it. Their actions never showed them learning to accept her and were just mean. Here it was nice to see the progression from hope's sister's learning to accept her and see her worth, even if she struggles. And her mother clearly loved her and showed it, but as time went on she grew more distant from her daughter, and she was manipulated by a bad 'king' into being more dismissive of the daughter she once protected. So bad things do still have room for some understanding and empathy, but not excused. I also appreciate that storm wasn't so explosive or mean to hope. I actually didn't like the romance between hover and nothing. Hover was..pretty mean to nothing but we are told it's supposed to be romantic but it really wasn't.
I really look forward to seeing this series get explored more! The creator has done an amazing job and your dub of it is really nice :D
My pride, step aside. This is an equally as stunning show! The characters, the story, the problems all seem so real and tie together perfectly. I’m especially excited for Diamond at what the lore has in store for them.

This series is so good I can’t wait for the next one! The story line is great too! I like how Hope and her sisters actually get along and have a bond! Hey, first off, love this series, I'm popping in with a long comment after ya'll got me hooked, which then prompted me to read the comic (I won't spoil anything I promise lol). I've been trying to mentally analyze the characters but then decided to just put it into comment form, so be prepared for me to ramble a lot lol.
I like how Adamant and Quiet are somewhat standoffish with Hope at first because as her younger sisters who are favored by their toxic parents it would make them look down upon her since being the 'golden children' would make them more inclined to listen to their parents who would be spewing tongue lashings against Hope. (Note that Hope calls Jasper "father" while Adamant calls Jasper "dad"), But both later open up to her when they realize that despite only having three legs, she was still willing to give it her all on her first hunt and not complain about it. Which gives her some cool big sister points in their book.
Question, why was Adamant so sure that their parents didn't care about Quiet's disappearance when all they did was walk by? Does she think they heard her talking to Hope about it and the fact they didn't question it was enough to set her off? Or is it in her character to jump to conclusions and start fights because of it? Or was it because she saw how harshly they treated Hope and started going over their interactions in her head? Then again their pride is so small it'd be hard not to miss one of their members.
Of course, gotta love Auntie Clever who seems to be the one with the braincell among her sisters.😊Speaking of, I'm convinced Vicious is a definite morally grey character, because I don't think she's evil. I don't doubt that she loves her cubs, seeing how she pleaded with Jasper to let Hope live and her obvious regret when she strikes her here, despite covering it up soon after. But something is making her act out. My best guess is fear, which would NOT mesh well with a barbed and short-tempered personality like hers. No, I'm not trying to justify her actions, I'm trying to give her a character driven reason for why, but she is still very much in the wrong with her treatment of Hope with her misguided ways of keeping her 'safe'.
Storm had me confused for awhile as to what they were until I read the responses to the comments and realized "oh, that's a female that appears to be a male due to the mane". I like her voice, even though I was a bit off put by it at first, makes me think of a excitable go getter personality.
Diamond is pretty cool, I like the contrast between them and Hope, one who is disabled yet get's along perfectly fine and no one judges them for it, meanwhile Hope can also get on fine yet doesn't realize she can since she is looked down upon for her lack of a leg. A nice foil to show how while someone may be disabled, it doesn't make them any less than those around them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the people around them is what helps them flourish or wilt, at least in these instances. Though I can't comment too much on it since I myself am not disabled. So please correct me if I'm wrong at all here about anything.

I love the aunt in this story, and how she treats "Ray"; just the whole entire storyline is amazing, especially the story with the lioness who transformed into an oasis to heal other lions and lionesses! Beautiful! Both me and my sis loved that story! We also loved that you incorporated two animals of the same gender romantically together. So cute!

And I think Careful also does care a little bit for Hope too, only as her name says; She is careful with her emotions (that's in her Toyhouse) She made a face of disappointment/pity when Hope was named Hopeless.
