- Drip irrigation saves you time and water! Coming into the summer months we decided to start our mini-orchard and plant 4, Red Delicious apple trees in our side yard. The problem is that we would need to water both the trees and our new garden every day. To get more targeted and reliable watering, I installed a drip irrigation system for the trees so we don't have to worry about them even if we go away for any length of time.

The effort I put into the plumbing of this system saves so much time watering in the morning! Is this something you would like to do in your garden or landscaping?
Al this info is amazing 👏
I know this is an old video, but as soon as I saw your hand pull back to throw that line of coil, my eyes got big and I held my breath!!!! I knew exactly what was about to happen. 😂 Work with hoses enough and you develop “hose rage”!! 😂
Thanks for the how-to on drip irrigation. ✌🏻
Yes, a kit that looks easy to do!
😊 thank you very much
Fantastic video. I've got 25 fruit trees in my backyard that need a drip irrigation system like this.
Excellent video!!!
Thank you!
Good
cool!
Enjoyed the video, very helpful with explaining all the parts and adaptors, that's the most difficult part; going back to the garden center 7 times.
@5:12 - "I'm not too concerned about making this pretty now, *I'll do that at another time* "
_It's only an expression folks, not to be taken literally_ 😅
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Please list all parts of the the final assembly to attach to water source. Thank you for this video!
The brand I used called for three rings of the micro-drip. I went with a continuous runs that could be flushed out. It ended up being two 1/2 loops with 22 drippers & a ten foot section of solid line to connect each loop. I already want PVC but can't decide on the design. The dripper at the front discharges water for a few seconds before the dripper at the end so PVC would even the pressures out more quickly.
I saw the website but there is multiple kits, what kit was yours?
Thanks
Besides the pressure regulator, can you please tell me what are the other parts needed for the assembly? You mentioned an adapter, a filter, a ninety degree something… thank you for this video!
This was very helpful! Can you please send a list of the items we need to buy?
I have links in the video description
How much liters of water is recomanded to be irrigated on 2 years old apple tree? Thank you!
Great vid man! Quick question, can that half inch main line be buried?
If you want to bury it permanently, you would have to watch out for ice and blow the lines clear if you have freezing conditions.
BusyDads just what I was looking for! I'm going to be using a ICB tote up on hill with a 500ft run to water a dozen new trees. Any thoughts on tree water bags?
Thank you! I just planted a few more trees and was going to look into the tree bags. I would save me on plumbing. I don’t have any experience with them yet.
Great video, like to do myself. One thing like to ask is what’s the white thing on your trees.
It is protecting the trunks.
Love your presentation, very clear. Question, I would like to use a drip system like this for mango trees. My local nursery said I should not water everyday, that instead if I deep water once a week the roots will grow down deeper. Do you know about that, how long to use it for deep watering, once or twice a week? I’m in Florida, it’s been amazingly dry this April and May.
I was running every 2-3 days and giving them 2-3 gallons each time.
You mention the size of the drip ring being the root ball, I have heard that you want to size the ring to the drip edge of the tree. Maybe as they grow you might enlarge the rings? Thoughts?
As the tree gets bigger, I will have a bigger ring and more emitters.
how high should I turn on the faucet?
You should add a 30PSI regulator on the line.
Your trees are quite large and probably have more extensive root system and that circle is too small for them. It should be quite wider.
RIP Main line because of lawn mower.
I never had a problem the whole season and we have a commercial level Hustler zero turn. The trick was to get the main line all the way down to the dirt.
How is this system presently working for you after all this time?
It is working very well. I have advanced it to the next level with some additional parts and pieces.
how and where purchase of this things in Pakistan
I am not sure where to point you for that. I am sorry.
Deer don't eat your fruit trees?
We have been lucky so far.
Super cheesy 🧀 install 👌🏻 low budget maximum 😂 system can be replaced yearly for $50
