What is Immersion?

What are #immersive experiences, and why do they enthrall us?
For Ed Rodley (Co-Founder & Principal The Experience Alchemists), #immersion disorients our default way of going through the world. It is a transitory, ephemeral #experience: it’s that act of going from one environment that you were immersed in, into a substantially different environment.
Ersin Han Ersin (Artist and Director, Marshmallow Laser Feast) believes that we’re receptive to immersive media because it’s innate. From standing in front of a majestic Sequoia tree to being in St Paul’s Cathedral to being in Stongehenge, humans are hardwired to be immersed in experiences.

He has over twenty-five years’ experience in envisioning, creating, and implementing visitor-focused projects for cultural organizations large and small.
