if you ever think of doing that again, a few practice throws with a piece of wood attached to the small rig to mimic the weight of the gopro may help you get the feeling for it and not destroy the camera when you actually shoot with it.

This makes me think of the time my dad left one of his expensive cameras out overnight on the back deck of a beach house we were staying at. Was on a crazy tripod setup for astrophotography reasons, and I was like dude what the hell are you going to do if it rains and he just shrugged and was like "you got to take some chances".

Maybe you can get the GoPro plus and send your damaged GoPro to them ,they will send a new one back to you with no question asked in the future when you damaged your GoPro. I like your videos and I hate it when I see your gears damaged.

@@MrEfmonsta Pretty a good deal with no question swap the damaged Gorpo camera with this. It also included unlimited cloud storage to share videos too.
@@MrEfmonsta it's 50 a month for the subscription but you need to pay a fee for the replacement. For the MAX, it's $99 and only up to 2 cameras per subscription. Unless you have carry on replacements that you didn't use from the last subscription

Thanks for the wonderful insight and new creative ways to use these cameras. Great Video! Love it! You really didn't loose anything by doing this. You did exactly what I should have done with that paper weight about a year ago with GoPro's lack of support for Windows users. That was about how useful it was at the time. I probably will never own another GoPro product again. Insta360 way a head of them in the 360 world and even Garmin back in the day...

I've got some shots of my Hero on the axe when I was at work. I'm in Rapid and work at Axe It Out. I'm gonna try my Insta360 One R one of these days doing this same thing.

I'm thinking an experiment like that would had a better chance of success if the camera had been taped directly to the axe handle. Even if all went as planned I would expect a secondary impact between the GoPro and the handle as the GP mount bent at the moment of axe/tree impact.
