Im a member of True Light C.O.G.I.C. Detroit, MI. I love this kind of church service. Im a white brother in the Lord. When i first went there in the early 1980's the saints welcomed me so well, through God's love and kindness, i felt genuine love and could smell a sweet fragrance of something combined with olive oil. I'll never forget that.
Now I'm apostolic and we use to have church like this. Praise break. They don't know the meaning now. I miss it. I'm talking yokes being destroyed because of the anointing church
The days when the dancing in the spirit continued AFTER the music stops.
I love the second clip. No "worship leader" screaming in the microphone. No drum machine. No pumping and priming. Just authentic praise and worship.
That clip is from New Bethel COGIC in D.C. You also realize that Bishop is the one in the pulpit..and this was evidently some special service they were having. But that church was known for being on the "wild" side...with lots of fast dancing.

Thank God, there was something for everybody in the various services. I certainly enjoyed this one, but something made me laugh. The picture of Christ, looks like he had a haircut. I kept looking, and realized is was a past picture of Christ, but with a very short hair cut. It’s the photo over the Pastor’s right hand shoulder.😀
this had me crying in the first two minutes!!!!! I miss this kind of Church...God help us turn back to you!!!!

Believe it or not every generation said they wanted to go back to the Prior generations way of having church or the way they worship. It’s not the style of worship of praise that brings us closer to The King. It’s a daily walk.
@@LCWC1 no one said "style" of worship. Their style of was bourne out of their personal committment and devotion to Christ. Its not the style of worship that I long for, its the purity and fervor of the church that I miss! Before things were modernized and commercialised all they had was the gospel message and holy living

When we stop trying to be like the world and act like the world and get back to true holiness then and only then will you see real deliverance

Amen! We gon” praise God even if nobody get a Mercedes Benz....I’m not against prosperity preachin, however this is the kind of church I got saved in. All Bishop ever preached was how to live right. He stayed in the book of Romans. I am grateful for that spiritual foundation. R. I. P Bishop Smith... you would be proud of me, I’m still saved.
I did not grow-up in cogic but had a neighborhood kid experience of asking my mom could i go with a family. Later bcame the seed planted that grew up IN me to later prepared me for my NOW husband. I grew up BAPTIST and when i learned the history, i knew i was home. My LIFE just went FULL CIRCLE...ONE GOD ONE FAITH AND ONE BAPTISMAL...YES LORD !!!!!

I used to play at Bishop Sherman Howard's church, New Bethel COGIC, in Washington, D.C. when I went to Howard University. He was a sweet, godly and wise man! I wish he would have lived longer. The Winans, Commisioned, and others always were coming through and I enjoyed hearing and playing with them. The Holy Ghost was in that place. He never let crooks and decievers come and 'preach' to God's people. Such blessed times and memories...

I wasn't born COGIC. but i have Grew up around COGIC musicians here in Chicago. i must say i love how the COGIC flow. my pastor is Pastor Stephan Henderson Reigning Glory COGIC.
It's changed a lot, especially since McAllister is music of ministry. It has a PAW Apostolic sound now. I love the older Cogic sound. The current sound is ok if the musicians are living something and can get anointed.

That's what we called going to church you be there al day enjoy holiness and oness in Christ Our Lord Jesus fellowship with one another my Greatgrandmother Mother Alice Leggitt came out of Roberts Temple from the time it was built till her death at 89 in 1975 I WOULD be right there with her on Sunday, went to the prary room loved her so much brought my children up the same way

This whole combination of services was such a blessing. And I can say the West Angeles Services with Pastor Nathan Simmons were the most anointed Revival services I had ever been in. And another one was a Sunday night Service at West A, and it was during a regular service that Bishop Blake preached, and the anointing was great it was like you not only feel it, but see the Glory! But I was so blessed by all the services shown here!!
Let's not forget the one and only Sister Vernon Oliver Price,State Solosit for the first Jurisdiction of Illinois. She was a member of Bishop L.H. Ford's church. Mighty woman of God.

This is when they preached against sin, and preached holiness. Now all they preach is if you do such and such god will give you 500 billion dollars, or if you so this, than god will give you a house and etc and etc. and yea I completely believe god blesses his people, but lets not forget the whole point of church and our walk with god. Its so we can make heaven! Not so we can drive our new Mercedes around. We shouldn't preach prosperity all the time. Preach everything else in the word. And don't ever think that churches in this video don't exist anymore, because they do, i go to one.
AMEN! Too many watered down, weak minded folk running around claiming to be "Christians" and what not. We need SOLDIERS who genuinely represent for the Body of Christ, that will not be influenced by the evil schemes of the enemy and of the world, and whom will not be afraid to speak the truth that is the Word of God!
The Petrol Geek I am have to disagree with you because the preachers these day are really smarter. So they can preach now with out whooping and hollering to get to the point. Whooping and Hollering just get in People emotions/Feelings... That's old school in this video but maybe you have caught on to new school where we don't need to whoop and holler to caught the Holy Spirit. I was COGIC until COGIC Tried to take our church since my pastor/God grandfather closed his eyes so now we are a family church...

The NEW generation understands that we are supposed to take our work outside of four walls to relate to NOW. The Black church has failed too many communities of color. I love my Cogic roots, but they could have kept that last bit. All the unnecessary denominational pride. You can be born in and go right to hell. You must be born again, like the Bible said. I'm not talking about a repeat after me; salvation, but a repent and her filled with the Holy Ghost and water baptized salvation. In Cogic to the bone, but all about what matters to Jesus.
