- Quick guide to show you how to upgrade / flash your uconnect firmware to latest version. This is a super easy process, I am going to show you step by step throughout the ENTIRE process until you see the successful message.
You can get the firmware from this URL:

Download it and just copy the bin file (binary file) to your USB thumb drive.
Then continue watching the video.

I just did this with a usb sent to me by uconnect, which was a wonderful surprise ... it was seamless and only took around 21 minutes, went smoothly ... it was nice to recognize the various screens as it went along, thank you for posting.

Think I got a postcard or some kind of notice I can't remember when I first purchased it used, I may have been told to download from online or get it at Jeep service (God forbid, the one here is horrendous in Gainesville FL) or pay $5 for usb version. It was around 2019

Do you actually notice that much of a difference with the software update?
On my charger uconnect, you can put it in run without starting the car just press start a second time with out the brake.
Good morning, I have a jeep compass year 2022 with uconnect system and the audio is not heard at the time of raising or lowering the volume until the moment that the mute button is pressed but it still does not do the function of raising or lowering the volume
You can have the vehicle in run mode without turning it on. Just press the start button without your foot on the break.

how do you get the software update 17.43.01 ? I have 2 2015 Chrysler 200C , one with the 17.11.07 and the other with the 17.43.01 as far as the Chrysler website both cars are up to date !! Thanks
Any that can be done for the smaller uconnect head unit below this trim level! It’s touch screen but not like this one. USB connection is in center console

On my 2013 ram 2500 5.7, you don’t have to answer to USB before you start it.
July 2020 - I have a 2015 jeep overland ( 28000 miles ) . I tried upgrading my system using UCONNECT. I downloaded the upgrade on to a stick. followed the prompts - the stick was put in the jeep, I started to upgrade but stopped on unit 11. we tried 3 times. it ended up affecting the battery. had to tow the jeep to the dealer. after a diagnosis ( $150) they told me I needed a new battery. this sucks. I was following the instructions . ~ JDS/CT

Might be why some advise the motor to be running or have a charger hooked up while upgrading. Batteries in new cars that have everything controlled electronically are going to be needing a new battery at the 4 year Mark! I just bought a new battery for my 2016 Challenger RT. After searching and shopping I got mine for only a little less than you got it from the dealer. Quit Whining!

You dont have to actually START the engine - just press the start button until it is in the run position (do not press the brake).
Do you meybae know why i dont ahve android auto on my 8.4 uncunnect?

So, am I understanding this correctly. I must contact uconnect and they will send me the upgrade for me to download to a stick. Then use that to upgrade my system 2018 Ram 1500?
Hi Russ, no you can download the firmware file from the internet. Just search for Uconnect firmware RAM 1500 and make sure you are downloading from RAM / Dodge / Mopar website instead of any 3rd party of fake website. Then you will copy to a stick, then you will plug the stick to your truck center compartment and upgrade it.
I need help just got a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 and the I connect app just says wait for store to open and does nothing do u have any advice I’m trying to get the WiFi going

Not a blank USB. You have to download and load the Uconnect firmware file first.
Just hit start button twice without foot on brake will put you in run without engine running
So to confirm, will this give me carplay so I can connect my phone directly?
As of 2019 when I recorded this video there is no Apple CarPlay support for this version of UConnect, maybe future version may.

Honestly I do not use reply via text which drive on the Uconnect.
Can I still download this update today? I need to upgrade my uconnect. I Have 2015 ram 1500 Canada, i bought a navigation update from factory but did not read my USB that the factory sent me
hey i noticed you are having the same problem I'm having. nobody replied to your message. were you able to find a copy of this firmware? I'm in Canada as well I have the same truck as you. when you go to the website it says your truck is up to date. this is complete bullshit. trying to find a copy of this firmware is next to impossible. when i talked to my dealership they said they could do it for a 180 bucks. no thanks lol.
@David Kowalski thanks for that info. Yeah 180 bucks seems too high. Im still trying to find other means. But Im also trying to compare the 180 bucks vs getting a better head unit which costs more than that.

@@larryreed6121 Yes you do. You can use any USB drive, format it from your computer to FAT-32 (or MS DOS) and just copy the firmware file to the USB drive.
I mean USB key. Where do I get it.
@Jean Connolly You can buy any USB thumb drive from bestbuy, target, office depot, etc... as long as it is 16GB or more. Format it to MS-DOS or FAT-32 format and copy the firmware file into it.
Hi. I don’t think any of this will help. The whole screen went crazy. Except camera. I turned on heat to 80 just to heat up the truck. All of a sudden it went from face to face and feet to feet to windshield and kept going from one to the other. The radio started going from one station to another and back to Sirius radio. I don’t use Sirius. Everything acts like it’s possessed. Haaha. Know what I mean. It won’t stay on one station. It won’t stay on one setting heat/ac. It just keeps switching.
It acts like a wire is wiggling and hitting every 2 second on a diff channel or heat temp or ac. Got any idea. Pls help. Always ends up on Sirius radio advertisements I can change it and it jumps right back to Sirius. I can put heat or ac at temp and it changes instantly to another. Can you pls advise me. I can’t afford this. My warranty is gone but I own it 7 months and now it’s all haywire. 2018 59k miles Laramie.
@@jeanconnolly1716 Okay I think I know what is going on. RAM/Chrysler has a screen laminating issue, where the top layer of the screen starts to separate and between that separation there are liquids. This issue sometime causes side-effect for false presses / touches on the screen (erratic and unpredictable) just like you are describing.
@@jeanconnolly1716 Hi Jean I replied at my other video already. Basically I believe your screen may have lamination separation issue, where the most outer layer is peeling off, so some areas are touching and some are not giving wrong signals at unpredictable areas.

homeboy, you do not have to press the Brake pedal to cycle your ignition button, the vehicle will change from ACC, to Run, without turning on the truck, if you do not depress the brake pedal. I have no idea, how you have 18,000 followers, DUH.. See Ya.
