If there is one thing every traveller dreads upon arriving on foreign shores, it is the dreaded #stomachbug. The last thing you want to be doing on your adventure of a lifetime is spending the day sightseeing from the toilet..
It may be a throne, but it ain't fun!
Check out our best tips for avoiding the a nightmarish trip on your next visit to #Bali, including what steps we take to avoid potential stomach bugs, as well as advice we learned from some seasoned travellers.
TOP TIPS ON AVOIDING BALI BELLY
1) Buy a filter water bottle to remove harmful bacteria from your drinking water. Discount code for WatertoGo - watertogo.eu/refer/440/
2) Avoid raw, washed vegetables that have been in contact with tap water.
3) Avoid eating meat, or at least judge where you eat meat thoroughly and don't buy dodgy meat.
4) Put mouthwash in your mouth while showering. This will prevent you from accidentally drinking water whilst in the shower.
5) Put red tape around your taps to remind you to not swallow the water. This is excellent when travelling with children as they are more likely to forget.

Good tips guys! I like the tape idea for travelling with kids. I’ve been living in Indonesia part time for the last year and eat street food every day and agree 100% about not eating meat. If you ever see the local markets where even the restaurants buy their ingredients from, you’ll know why 😝

Exactly! We stumbled down to the Ubud food market and got a shock haha our stomachs are not as strong as the locals!

So how do you brush your teeth if you can’t use the tap without risking it?

Good question!! As long as you don't swallow the water, you should be alright. The tape is just there to remind you not to drink it after you brush. If you are really worried, we used our filter bottles and drank the water through the filter to brush with. We
