The Braves Are Trying to Build a Dynasty (And It Might Work)

  • Hey everyone!
Not every World Series winning team can transition into becoming a dynasty. Only a select few can do it and I think the Atlanta Braves can do it. With their mixture of contracts, player development, and savviness they are one of the very few current teams with dynasty potential. However, at the same time, so many unforeseen things can go wrong.

As a Braves fan, going through the dark ages of the mid 2010s was worth it. This allowed the front office to have a better chance of acquiring high end talent and build a team that can win in the future and they did just that! I am so blessed that the Braves franchise built a proven commodity that carries a winning team, culture and spirit. I look forward to the future optimistically as I see the Home of the Braves gunning for more rings.

People said it was depleted going into this year, and now we have 3 rookies making an impact at the major league level. I think these minor league system ratings get way too caught up in how many hyped prospects they have, without taking into consideration the track record of player development. We still have players we could call up right now if we needed to. They’re just not known to many people outside of hardcore Braves fans.

Recruit top notch talent who also grew up near Atlanta, were Atlanta fans as kids, have interest in being a brave. 2. Cultivate talent within their farm system. 3. Sign them to long term contracts. This is very the similar to the LA Dodgers approach.

Something to add that’s important for the Braves moving forward that wasn’t mentioned in the video or in the comments I have read it the problem with money they could run into with the ownership group. Liberty Media is notably stingy but going forward they have promised some more financial support for the team, but this is only after the success of a World Series. As a Braves fan, I’m concerned the budget may not grow if the team were to take a step back in the playoffs in the coming years. Either way, the team does have a phenomenal young core that has me excited for the future. The only concern I have is the ownership group’s willingness to provide cash to make some large free agent splashes to supplement the core.

I think people underestimate the value of consistency in a man's life. The freedom of knowing where you're gonna live and that your teammates that you love will also be there and that you can all continue to help each other and keep each other accountable is worth a lot of money. When you've already got millions? It's priceless. So these Braves have freedom to just focus on having fun playing baseball and taking care of themselves as humans. The Braves are building a community, not just a baseball team, and potentially it's a new recipe for an all-time dynasty. Time will tell! 1 game out of first right now!

I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a rule change where it stipulates that you may not sign a player to a contract before they have completed 3 seasons in the MLB, defined as having been called up before July. So you could technically get around that by calling up players in July, even if they are ready to be called up in April for their debut, just so you can use them a little bit more. But I think this could be necessary to prevent the highway robbery the Braves are doing, as well as to prevent future teams from doing the same thing
