I've been a modeler off and on since I was 7. Now I'm 61 and I can't do ANY of the things this guy knows how to do. I won't get my 1/32 Tamiya Corsair engine to look like his 1/48 engine! NO WAY!! I haven't the time really nor even the patience. I stopped trying to super detail before plane models started flying across the basement shop to hit the walls! This guy has a special skill that many modelers don't have and we all have weaknesses except this guy!! To build like this does it mean chaining yourself to the workbench? I couldn't devote all my time to this hobby if that's what it takes when we all have other duties and past times to take care of as well. I would go crazy if I did nothing else!
Thank you for your kind words mate, I've turned my hobby into a second job more or less so I can justify some more time spent at the bench :) But it is not easy and my schedule is pretty tight.
The tip about the drill bits being glued into sprue is a great idea
Saves some time :)
Does that mean i can just buy drill bits and i dont need the screwdriver thing? What about the normal drill bits i have at home, will those work?
"The hobby shop is a trap and I didn't want to fall in". No truer words were spoken 😂
Unfortunately, many of us have fallen victim to this trap, lol!
@@jerryvolpini7987 ,
Sadly, all of my local "traps" have closed over the last few years. However, I am just as likely to be trapped at any of the online shops as I would a brick and mortar shop.
Online is better for self control IMO
OUTSTANDING work!!! The finished product is awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
I realize this is an old video post, but I just wanted to say how much I like your tips, tricks, and money saving ideas. I am currently building the 1/48 F4U-1D Corsair and to have so much explained in a step-by-step method makes it so much easier. Thank you for your videos!
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice. Thanks for the tips on how to improve this engine! I can't imagine what a 1/32 Tamiya f-4u corsair would look like in your hands!
Thanks Daniel, it depends on how much visibility there is. I guess in a closed cawl situation not much more should be added.
Thankyou again. Weekends are fun now.
Enjoy!🍻
Your videos are a must for all levels of modelling skill....your work is super detailed and the commentary full of techniques and tips.....many thanks for sharing, Metodi.
Thank you so much 😀
you did great job. very good teaching video. thank you so much.
"The hobby shop is a trap" - My man, this hit me on a spiritual level.
Recently i managed to get in for supplies and get out without a new kit... twice in a row. I should get a medal or something 😃
Thanks for the comment on the sprue drill handles. Had noticed you using them before, great idea!
Saves some time.
Great as always Metodi!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks mate 👍
A true master.
I just started the TBM-3 Avenger from Accurate, an older kit but still good for me.
It is one of the best kits out there IMO
MM Scale Models Yes, I'm very happy so far.
I also have this kit in the stash.. my kit didn't come with decals and stencils. Do you guys have any idea where I can buy decals for a tbm?
That engine looks so real. I compared with my model, then I dismantled and start working again to achieve the realistic look this engine displayed. Thanks Buddy for the tutorial.
You are very welcome mate, glad I could help!
Excellent work sir very inspiring 🙏
Thanks mate 👍
As always, beautiful work sir!

Always enjoy watching your videos . You make it looks so easy , the results look great!
Thanks Ed 👍🍻
Beautiful build up ! One note, the black item on top of the reduction gear housing is the Propeller Governor. The magnetos are on both sides. love the video, keep the glue flowing !
Thanks for the info Joe, appreciated!
Super, congratulations and thanks
Thanks mate
Nice work
Thanks mate!
It's very nice and politely work as usual. Actually, high detailed engine doesn't looks like a model.
Thanks mate 👍🍻
*Nice engine, all the technics are very simple to use! 👍👍👏*
Yes they are and are quite effective :)
Hobby Shop is a trap 😄😄😄
You get in for 2 euro paint jar and get out with 50 euro kit... Not fair 😃
Great videos! Thank you for your attention to detail, very inspiring.
Thanks mate, new double wasp video is coming very soon :)
Very nice video I enjoyed very much and learned a few thing. Thank you.
Thanks mate 👍🍻
Wonderful job!!!
Congratulations!!!!
Loved!!!!
🇧🇷
Thank you very much!
I'm just starting my sbd kit from academy and I will use some of your help full tips on the engine 😉
Hi John, enjoy your build mate
Love your work. I subscribed and look forward to more videos!
Thanks Richard, welcome aboard 👍
I'm making the same kit right now. In comparison to yours, mine has the detail of a 1/144 scale kit though.
It's a very good kit and needs just a small push to get awesome results.
I love engine details on a plain . Have you ever built a 1/32 version with aftermarket parts for the cockpit , flaps and engine? r2800 is my favorite engine of WW2
Thanks mate, I haven't built anything bigger than 1/48th this far. I have 4 R2800s built this far and looking for something different :)
@@MMScaleModels I just love engines from that time period
Awesome
Thanks!
Очень познавательно интересно особенно с титрами понятно и интересно,,
Thanks mate :)
Master!!!!!!!!
Thanks Pako!
Hi,
Fantastic video, as usual. How long did it take to do the entire engine?
Thank you
Thanks Chris, have no idea TBF, I did it is several sessions and some things were done in-between others. But if I have to guess 6-8 hours straight should be plenty.
@@MMScaleModels Thanks very much. That really helps. Cheers
👍👍
Just a comment for the algorithm
👍💪
Thanks mate 👍
I'm new modeler. I primed my model with vallejo primer. Now I'm going to do some chipping effects. I want to apply now smooth coat of vallejo medium chipping effect and then paint with mr color C series. Will it work? If not how to do chipping effect with mr color C series paints?
I don't use acrylic primers so have no idea how things can unfold. You can check out my chipping tutorial where I explain the technique in detail.
Keep away from Vellajo primer - use Stynlres if you use an acrylic - it's bulletproof & self - levelling - Mr Surfacer 1000, 1200 & particularly 1500 are the best, most affordable primers money can buy. Vellajo chipping medium is very heavy handed, so you must exercise care - go MIG - they do Heavy Chipping & Scratches Effects - both are the standard go - to & the best! If you are aware of Mr Colour - go all the way and use it as a base, then Tamiya or AK Real Colour to chip! Easy peasy!!!
Fantastic, great work :) the format is overproduced & it's very distracting having the 'bird fly across the screen along with the request for patreon donation & donors names ALL during the build :) the Muzak is boring :) Keep it simple stupid and reproduce /rearrange credits & requests until the end - too much all happening simultaneously - I still don't know what I just watched??? Kindest regards :)
