i've always wondered the reason behind the death and the maiden label?
The 2nd movement is based upon the theme of Schubert's song "Death and the Maiden" [Tod und das Madchen.] It is the open theme in the quartet, and in the song it is the personification of "Death."
@Rushcello yes please upload the other movements if you have them! i dont think i have seen more exciting quartet playing than this ever, even by the hagens now. Compared to this i think they lost some energy along the way. This performance is wired! child prodigies with proper determination... amazing. thanks

This performance to me, a serious quartet lover, was wonderful and spot on and not wired!
