JIri getting edited into fluent English. Good that he's doing interviews, etc, you see it start rough in fight week, and improve. Keep interviewing him to keep his English coming along. "Too much in that wipe of wiolence". Feckin love it.
I like Bisping's style with Jiri, peels back Jiri's seriousness and lets the sunny young man shine through. It's hard work at times, but he persists and we are rewarded.
It was a very elegant, well phrased, post fight speech.

In another interview... I think it was a Czech one, with subtitles... Jiri brought up testosterone when you are an early teen and something like feeling out of control, aggressive, hyper, angry... It's a key moment for boys turning into men, around 12, 13, 14, that women don't experience, have no idea about, our transition to adulthood is completely different - no testosterone - and men don't talk to boys about this, how to direct all of these foreign feelings, letting them know it's going to happen, how to stay healthy and sane, not fall into self destruction or deviation. I never hear men pinpoint testosterone and it's effect in those first years of puberty.
MW. And a good grappler, especially at getting out of subs. They won't know what hit 'em.
You could see when the fight was over, the speed with which Jiri rolled onto his knees, and that burning look in his eyes... it wasn't one of defeat, and it wasn't happy, but it was intense, as he stared at Pereira. He knew he'd been screwed on some level, but obviously in the heat of battle, with a wobble, he doesn't know how obvious the early stoppage was until he watched the fight. Now he's stuck paying the price for accepting his fate and being gracious on the world stage.
Losses are learning experiences, and Pereira the amazing striker being the tutor? No shame there. JIri hesitated and was lost. (Then the early stoppage sealing the deal.)

Only thing that woulda happened if it wasn't stopped when it was would be hammerfists like Jamahal or elbows. But Alex has a crazy killer instinct and after falling straight back like that he was to hurt to get out of going to sleep.
Crazier things have happened, you don’t know for sure what happens if the ref doesn’t stop it, most likely he gets finished, it’s for the title, let him get finished properly

i did think it was an early stoppage against alex but jiri messed up by accepting the stoppage.
Having Alex land in full mount, seeing the hammer fist he dropped on Jamahal. I don’t know. Could have changed the fight he had at 300. Rakic hit him with some really good shots, if he would have been pummeled by hammer fist he may not have been able to take what Rakic did to him. I’m just glad he’s healthy and the rematch will always be there.
You have no right of appeal at the time. So you stand around waving your arms yelling, getting booed, or you bury your frustration and be nice.

That first fight was definitely stopped just a little early. I can't imagine the outcome being different at that point, but he deserved a few more seconds to try to buck out of that position.
Goddard made a hash of it. He wasn't fast enough to stop it in the moment Jiri wobbled, he then has time to recover, recovers, and takes Pereira down with him. He's fully with it again, he's survived the storm, Goddard needed to change gears, fast. He didn't, so a fully conscious, pro active fighter gets the plug pulled on him. Ridiculous. Pereira's full mount looked awkward, very close to Jiri's face, where the ability to hit hard is impeded, against someone who is comfortable fighting off his back and very good at reversing positions. Maybe Alex got a couple of devastating blows in fast that were undefended... maybe not. We will never know, because of that early stoppage.
Especially for a belt, you should let the person get ko’d, for the belt, some other contender fight, sure stop it
