They won't be able to. If RAF get's hit with a copyright notice. He will just change the tripod model to the alternative and likely rename the game to something similar. Paramount won't be able to do shit then. Then RAF even said he'd add the original Tripod model you see in this video as a mod to the game.

A little concerned that the tripods didn't display any of their past functions. No shields. No active military trying to fight the pods, just an air siren. No tendril grabbing of survivors. No camera tendril insertion of housing. While the visual upgrade is sick. I hope it didnt result in a downgrade in gameplay.
There is no downgrade in gameplay. I watched the stream the other night where the update was being tested and there was a huge military battle with the pods
The lights from the tripods on the trees in the distance is so cool. Hope he can get the leg movements a bit smoother, that is the only thing i notice to give feedback on, in terms of the tripods themselves.
Also, is it possible to hide inside the kiddie slide of Burger Knight? Hey if you gotta die, better to spend your last few seconds enjoying yourself- there is no one that's going to stop you.

There is one thing I wanna see them do is when it comes to the gender of the character if your playing as a human you should be able to choose between male or female since you can choose what tripod you want
Can you ask the makers to have a toggle on the ground shaking mechanic? Honest to God, I think it is giving me a headache and making me sea sick, lol. I don't want them to remove it, just to add a toggle to turn it off for those sensitive to "motion sickness."
Ok, first of all, I want to get this out of the way now. Some advice I have come to realize is that you will be your own worst critic. When I recorded myself singing while making music for the first time digitally I too cringed but then I got more and more used to it as I practiced and got better and more confident. Granted music is not necessarily the same as acting but similar judgments to how oneself sounds can still play a big part in it. second of all, that wired new horn you heard at around 17:22 original video time, I believe is an intermediate distance sounding horn, where it's not close enough to be booming but not far away enough to be faint, it is sort of that in-between. I could be wrong here but that definitely does not sound like a dying tripod...as of yet. Also, the engine sounds have been tweaked some more to match the movie a lot more, if you really listen closely you will not only hear the thumping of each cycle but also the whirling and squeaking of the sounds in between cycles, just like in the movie but still unique enough to be its own thing.
Highly unlikely the tripod design is public and they can’t really sue him over a franchise they don’t own. But this is the reason the devs made backup models just incase.
Do you know if there will be a military team. And if they have a death animation for when they die to a sickness or a javlin blows it up like at the end of the movie.

On the map expansions I would love to see military checkpoints and a major city we can explore or start in.
Definitely, I do believe military evacuation points will be a thing at some point which is pretty close to checkpoints
