- Today we’re going behind the scenes of Netflix’s Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as the titular character herself, as well as Christina Ricci, the OG Wednesday Addams. This show is already a piece of iconic media in the making with the legendary Tim Burton behind the lens. Tim Burton designed the character with sketches! He would bring different sketches of characters and monsters to the writer’s room and everyone would have a bit of input on what the characters would look like. Apparently, it was a major collaborative process all around. Jenna Ortega was extremely dedicated to perfecting her role as Wednesday and put in the long hours to show it! She was easily working twelve hours a day on set alone - not even counting her commute or the time she was in hair and makeup. She also learned to play the cello and how to fence specifically so she could perform her own stunts. She spent a non-stop eight months working! There are also some very particular mannerisms that only super keen eyes would be able to see. Like, did you know that Wednesday never blinks? She also has incredible posture and keeps her arms and hands pretty stationary most of the time. Jenna brought a lot of subtlety and care into the portrayal of this character. This show was also filmed in Romania, which brought a unique, Eastern European vibe to the show that we don’t often get to see in media. What was your favorite Wednesday moment? It's the most popular American show in Netflix history...I wouldn't be surprised if they signed cast for seasons 2 and 3 . Season 2 is a certainty.

ive rewatched wednesday 5 times already but im still being impressed every time with her performance, the effort and dedication is crazy

and that the show gets more dark
and that we can see more of that side of Wednesday the anti hero detective protagonist vibe I really loved that

I love that she is soo in to this role. haveing stunts by herself, training violoncello and fencing. She is really good actor who is giveing all of the herself to acting.

This show was just a master piece from Tim, and Jenna she was so perfect in her role
Jenna Ortega did great. She did everything to be perfection. I like how she practiced her fencing and how she did her own stunts. Her portrayal was brilliant. I was so amazed by her portrayal. Her portrayal seems to be complicated to film but she definitely did great and she tried her best to portray "Wednesday." Jenna did amazing for this show. She deserves an award for her portrayal as Wednesday. She was perfect and the role suits her. I like Jenna Ortega and Christina Ricci when both of them did excellent when they both portrayed Wednesday. The two of them we're both suitable for the role of Wednesday. They we're both iconic and gorgeous. Jenna's facial expression and her mannerisms was so lovely. I am both impressed to Jenna Ortega and Christina Ricci. Their portrayal was amazing.

Jenna was authentic in her role as Wednesday. I love her cello rendition of Paint it Black which was song by the Rolling Stones in the 70's. Wednesday was fierce.

From the casting to the acting to the set design to the plot and storyline, wednesday has completely left me speechless in the best way! i grew up watching the addams family movies and loving them for how weird and odd and endearing they were, this fits right in.
It just so good on so many levels, first is that it is not only about the Dark Humor and quick, witty Dialogue, there is a lot of multi-level Storytelling also involved, giving most of the Characters a lot of depth.
A lot of talk about how Jenna Ortega was absolutely perfect for the Role, but for me it just wasn't her, most of the other Actors and Actresses also did very well, helping contribute to just how good this Show is.

I don't know if everyone else feels the same way but I thought this series was amazing!! Vaguely even knew of Jenna Ortega before seeing this but now I'm her biggest fan. Her portrayal of Wednesday was so so good. From start to finish this was the most enjoyable series I've watched in a long time. If they don't run with this THING and do several seasons I will be GREATLY DISAPPOINTED and I think they would be making a dumb move cause I find the series very appealing and I NEED MORE Wednesday as soon as possible lol. To be honest tho I think the entire cast of characters is fantastic. I'll be amazed if the series doesn't win some awards.

Love(d) this show! Binged watched it in a day and love Wednesday. Grew up with the original Addams Family (Im 20 btw) so it was nice to see a remake starring her. Love Jenna for playing her and how she really nailed her character and brought her to life on the screen. Definitely a Tv show I can relate too because Wednesday and I are just so similar (in personality, sarcasm, dark humor, both outcasts, etc) and made me feel seen.
