    10:40 I always remind myself "God can do more with our mistakes than we ever could in our perfection".
    It isn't an excuse not to prepare... but i the end, it's the only anointing that really matters.

    Doyle, may I speak to your heart? I still remember your words at one time saying you could not sing. I would love to speak encouragement and a word into your life. The first song you sang today, I believe you said was your father’s favorite, was phenomenal. The intervals, the articulation, the intonation, the beauty and the ease, by which you sang, encouraged me so very much as to the talent in your singing. You cannot ever try to say that you are not as sharp as a finely honed sword with beauty and accuracy in your singing voice. Let it be said from now on, Your voice is just as magic as your playing skillfully on your guitar. Me and my wife, love you, thank you and will always sing you ministry to others in love, Our Brother in Christ.

    Doyle, I remember when you came to Adairsville GA and played at the church of God. I just sat there and listened to the music and wondered how all the sounds were coming from your guitar. You might remember, you played I bowed on my knees and cried holy ' then started playing softly and singing what a friend. There was a man who came from the back of the church to the front and recommitted his life to Christ. The holy Spirit filled the church.
    I love your music and the inspiration you give to others.

    Once again, Doyle, you hit the nail on the head! Even an aetheist knows ( or should know), that the key to ideal standards of performance, is that you must forget your petty worries about what people will think of you, or your achievements and shortcomings, and play with intent for those listening, rather than yourself; to have nerves is natural, but it isn't mandatory to focus on them... this is what "self conscious " means. Think and feel instead for, not yourself, but the audience ( whether you feel they are for you or against you) You would probably say that you perform first for God, but even if you don't believe in a God, ethically it should be obvious to focus on others, as if toward an ideal of achievement (the best you can do). In this way you are playing automatically beyond your own achievements,to the better enjoyment of all around you. This might seem a rationalisation or watering down of the christian ethos, but I include this more secular explanation only to show that it works, from whichever angle you come. It took me a long time to get over myself and realise (as Glen Campbell once said) "what my job was"... ie to play for the enjoyment of others before yourself, and in that moment ,almost like magic, my nerves disappeared. It's not about you, it's about others and life (God) itself. As a psychological exercise the projection of a humble heart-felt ideal, and earnestly working toward it, is almost indistinguishable from christianity, and the barely alive materialists of this world should be aware of this concept, if they're intellectually honest, and accept it as enlightened self interest. To be first you must put yourself last, if you will.

      So true… that’s what Jesus said. With the power and unction of the Holy Spirit what we do is subordinate to what He can do through us. It’s like Heaven and Earth kiss and we get caught in the middle of the smack!

    • @chrisgmurray3622
      @chrisgmurray3622 Před 2 měsíci

      @@doyledykesmusic so so true! Every musician knows the feeling of channeling their inspiration in moments of miraculous automation where someone or something is working through us, and you so soon spin out and lose the groove if you try and have a power trip with it, and you always also know when it feels bad! I know that GOOD feeling when it needs to come through me and it's the only way to ride ( not that I actually ride mind you.. well I used to surf but thats the same). When you surrender and become the disciplined but humble expression of God all things are possible... unless you get side tracked hmmm, .... start thinking about yourself and how great it feels... I like the line "Lead us not into temptation." It doesn't say "Give us the strength to resist temptation" ( common sense) why get distracted by the outer part of the whirlpool, thinking it might be fun to dip your toe in, NAH!!!! Don't even go there, make it easy on yourself, the universe works only one way, it is stupid to try and challenge it for pride or what goes naturally against the grain. We may call it different names, but everyone knows and recognises it when it shows up, if they're being honest with themselves. Apologies for the sermont but when you answered my comment I felt the power flow in and after my first day of performing in three months, I prayed to be able to be relaxed and do my best, and also, because I'm often s street performer as I was for 6 hrs today, sometimes I have to encounter violence and other such things and to have the right attitude when things can suddenly turn nasty, is necessary if you don't want to end up getting caught up. When I arrived, I spoke with the local business people to ask how things have been, and they said it was pretty bad lately. My whole day was exactly the opposite; everything was sunny well behaved and nobody hassled me, just gave me compliments. A cynic might say, oh well "that's just the way it was going to go anyway, it had nothing to do with your prayer" Seriously, how on earth could they come up with any solid data to proove their dissmissive thoery, nobody can know what's going to happen because there is no scientific evidence to proove they can. Anyone can make a prediction of probability only, ( and that's a wierd branch of statistics which is not based on anything but mathematical languages) I've never been abducted, saw a ghost, or seen anything like that, but For sure anyone can know when that spirit is present, no matter how much you refuse to face it. God isn't supernatural, he is the ultimate natural, just on a dimension we can't see, but it's clear to all but the stubbornist person, when he shows up, just as you know when the ,shall we say, less desirable outcome spirits rear their ugly wee heads! Love to you Doyle and everyone listening to this beautiful music!

    "He did it...He filled the House" "My Greatness does NOT depend on YOU." Oh my, I've been so mixed up sometimes, at church. I keep thinking sometimes that I might have something of value to give, in delivering a song there, to His Glory, on His behalf. I suppose I've never stopped struggling with the ridiculous idea that either my brilliance, or my awkward stumbling in some way could POSSIBLY hinder Him or in any way spoil the work He would have us do. You're such a friend, Br. Doyle. Your story dug deep in me. Thank you for it.

    Brother, if we had known that you would play more songs for the glory of God with a dedicated guitar, we all would have bought you one. Thanks for today. I am listening twice, before and after. I thought the first was perfect for the day. He is made perfect in our weakness.

    “My Greatness does not depend on yours,” says Doyle Dykes in this, my new favorite of his weekly videos - quoting God as speaking to him directly: “Not audibly, but indelibly, within my being.” This after what Mr. Dykes himself declared to be his own “worst ever” public performance at the Grand Ol' Opry. The borrowed guitar he was playing, with new strings he had just incorrectly installed, and the 30 foot cord that felt like 300 feet when I was trying to reel it in.” Rather than play something fast, he decided on the spot to play his solo guitar arrangement of a beloved hymn HOW GREAT THOU ART.
    After he came offstage everyone, including his wife and daughters, told him that his performance was wonderful! “Didn't you hear the audience?” they said, “the applause?” No, said Doyle adding: “I was the only one there who missed it!”
    Later when most in need of some Divine explanation, Doyle said he felt more than heard these words: “My Greatness does not depend on yours.”
    Pick it up at the 29:55 mark.

    Groups of stars that look like something like a tea pot, a dipper, a triangle, etc., are asterisms. There are some asterisms within constellations. But groupings called constellations are arbitrary from one culture to the next. For example, Ursa Major does not look like a bear. It's a real stretch to connect stars within that grouping to draw a bear. There are 12 constellations because humans divided stars that way, not because Cancer looks like a crab or Scorpio looks like a scorpion. The 12 currently agreed upon constellations are arbitrary groupings created by humans, NOT God. The Message bible translation leans toward astrology, which is NOT divine or true! This is the primary reason I steer clear of translations beyond the King James Version - there's too much human influence in other translations.

    • @doyledykesmusic
      @doyledykesmusic  Před 2 měsíci

      I do love the King James Version. Thanks for your comments. This is about His Greatness… not mine. Sorry to offend you.
