I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor that was converted for civilian use with only 9,300 miles on it. For reasons unknown, someone cut those exact same two green wires and tried to use them for DC power outlets in the center console... and the horn itself was disconnected and missing the wiring harness. I exhausted all the google searches and even a few former police department mechanics who were stumped. Because of your video, I was able to identify which of the wires under the hood were for the horn, and find the two random green wires under the dash to reconnect. I don't know where you found the information to figure that out, but you saved me A LOT of time and money. So thank you for your channel. It's people like you who make DIY mechanics possible.

Thank you, my horn was still connected but the green wire was cut and wired into and toggle switch on the lower right dash. I haven't looked yet to see what they used the switch for maybe tone change. I just got the horn working and wanted to say thank you. Separate issue on mine the high beams would not work. 1 wire on each high beam was cut and spiced into something else. Simple fix reconnect the wire behind each headlight. Thanks again

Remove the panel under the steering wheel. You will see shinney electrical wire on a bundle of wires. That does not look factory. Remove the electrical tape i found a plug disconnected. Plugged them together and horn worked. Mine was a 2017

Luckily for my 2015 PIU I only had to reconnect the purple wire behind the center console.

with my car i had a simmalar issue, but after i took a look under the wheel there was no wires to be found, so i had to do some more digging. after that i found the purple green wire to be located under the sterio next to the usb port.

It's important to stress if you have a police explorer interceptor that your spliced line could be anywhere in about three different places. You will need to look in all of them. if you do not see a green wire spliced or jumped under the dash where this video indicates it should be, pull apart the lower center dash panel and look for the cut purple and green wire that the videos for the Taurus Interceptor sedan often talk about. As you know, these two cars are very similar to each other . I did not find a cut green wire under my center dash and I did not find a spliced wire up by the horns in front so I took apart the center column an instantly saw the cut purple wire that the Taurus interceptor videos advised me to look for.

Did you have any issues with the hazards lights not working? I push the button and it does nothing, all other lights work normal

No issues. Does your turn signal lights work? If they don't work it may be a spliced wire. If the do work check your hazard switch and make sure it's connected properly.

So which wires were the issue? Was it rewired in the interceptor package?
