I have just got the 9 degree carbon Wilson driver, took the plunge as a 15HC - absolutely no regrets, I seem to find the centre 8/10 times at the range, 9 out of 10 fairways hit on its debut last week, upgraded from a high handicap callaway b21 driver, not only does it go further (10-20yards easily) but it’s actually easier to hit - I can’t recommend it enough
Bought mine at the end of the season and can’t wait to put it into play!! I’ve had 2 sets or their irons in the last 10 years and believe they are really overlooked and people are missing out! They seem to be upping their game a bit!! I love seeing the older dogs coming back to the party so to speak!!!

Thanks for reviewing the more budget drivers Matt. Enjoy your content. I had the Cleveland last year and regretted trading it in as it was super straight with decent distance.
I recently acquired a Mizuno 230 STZ and couldn’t believe how much straighter I’ve been able to hit it! If anyone is on the fence on getting a new Mizuno driver don’t hesitate and get one in your hands!
I know it's not a 2024 driver, but check out the Callaway Mavrik '22 model. Absolutely love the sound, feel, and performance of it, and it's only $300 brand new.

I love the Wilson Dynapower Carbon. Started gaming it as soon as it came out.
I am so glad Wilson is making a comeback, but that Mizuno driver to me just looks so good. But then again I am not a fan of the color red and Blue is my favorite.

I got fitted for Wilson Dynapower Carbon driver last March. I enjoyed using it. I had best driving season
I have a Launcher XL, and it's adjustable. I think the "XL Lite" has a fixed hosel, but the original is adjustable.
I keep hearing good things about Tour Edge. I have no real idea about performance, price or any of the other pertinent categories.
I went in for a driver fitting. TSr1 was the best, a little further behind was the Paradym X. Third was the Wilson carbon. They were all very close.
I have Wilson DYNAPWR 3-wood and 3-hybrid and absolutely love them. If I was up for a driver change, the Wilson would be very high on my list.
id love it if you could get a hold of YONEX clubs ...specifically the shaft they produce themselves which has a double kick point ...doubt ill ever get access to them down under but would love to see what you think
The Cleveland Launcher XL2 is seriously underrated, nice to see it get a mention here.

I have fun with the previous XL for a year now (18 Hcp). That said, they're full titanium, so hard to compare perfs with carbon drivers.
Just remember to use earplugs when you´re hitting it...
@@Mattfryergolf Matt, my 2022 Cleveland Launcher XL driver has already an adjustable hosel from 9 to 12...
Btw, the price of a brand new XL driver has dropped to $249 in the U.S. (£198), which, given the few differences with the XL2, is a real bargain.
I play the Srixon ZX5 driver (first edition). Great look at address and extremely forgiving.
Interesting to hear the differences between the UK take on pricing and brand awareness vs the US market.
Had a Driver fitting and gone for Ping G430 10k expensive yes but not had a new driver for 7 years and the stats compared to my old one is a gain of 13 yards which is going to be a massive help around my course. But I did try the Mizuno and the Wilson driver but didn't feel as solid for me.
I just got the previous Launcher Driver. Can you do a comparison video with stats of 2024 Launcher Driver vs the previous gen?
Also, I think the previous gen Launcher XL Driver also had adjustable loft from 9*-12*. The lite version didn't.
I wholeheartedly agree Matt! If Mizuno dropped their price on the Max; I will be on board in a heart beat.
I'm a big fan of the Mizuno line. Great drivers!
Just purchased the latest AiSmoke max for £425 on offer from my local professional shop, sold my TSR2 on eBay for £350 as it was too spinny, happy days. The Callaway is brilliant, spinning at 2300 perfect for my expectations, much longer than the Titleist which was spinning at 3900, costing me distance, dispersion for the Ai Smoke is superb. So whilst might have saved £50 with the Wilson, it didn’t perform for me, nor did the Qi10 or Ping 425 10K max and they were incredibly expensive.
I been playing the cobra F6 driver past couple years had the Cleveland monster before that would love to get the new cobra but clubs are just so damn expensive especially drivers
I was going to suggest Wilson before you pulled it out of the bag as your 3rd option. I would have to go for the titanium as a higher handicapper. Just waiting for it to drop another £50 in price
Matt, it's a shame you don't spend more time on your research. The old Cleveland XL lite had no adjustment, while the Cleveland XL was adjustable. You kept saying this driver is for higher handicaps.... I play it as a 67 year old 8 marker... It is just a great value driver for all abilities

Yep it was a stand out for sure!
I did really like the dynapwr last year, but in the end I bought a paradym on demo sale for the price of these.

Good video Matt, but why are they so expensive to us all the components are simular and probably made in the far East. Surely we are just paying for the name and the pro's who have sponsorship.
Im surprised mizuno made this list. Cant see people overlooking mizuno.
My list of over looked drivers would have been
Wilson
Tour edge exotics
And
Adams' new idea driver. It looks amazing, but nobody talks about adams anymore.
Just my humble opinion.
Srixon drivers are hugely underated also.....

I am now 66 years of age I have been using a ping G25 25 Driver for 6 years and with my son hitting it it's a match for any new Driver on the market .oh and it cost 195 quid brand new not 600 quid .I rest my case .
Just got custom fitted for Cleveland xl 2 and beat the likes of Callaway.taylor made and cobra and I am a 16 handicap
Sub 70 849D for mid high handicapper forgiving with plenty of shaft options price point far better at £279 or 849 for the better players same money surely that is a no brainer

I don’t understand why people get caught up the sounds or the looks of clubs … as long as they hit great I don’t really care what it sounds like or even how it looks 😂
Well... Cleveland driver got my tinnitus ringing in my ears so bad that after a day it got itself a new home fast... in a bin...
Rest assured, only snobs look for the brand, only poor golfers look for the look, and only delicate, fragile people can't stand powerful sound 😀

I have to laugh at how much of this was dedicated to how it looks and sounds instead of how it really performs.
Give me an ugly looking and horrible sounding club that goes straight and a decent distance than something pretty and sounds great.
