    Dolphins are no threat. They have an exhaust port and are grey, so they are basically aquatic Deathstars and can be destroyed in a similar way. Also, if they master walking on land they will still never be able to learn how to use stairs. Escalators maybe.

      And guys... they dont have hands or ANYTHING remotely like them. So they cant fight us on land. They cant hold weapons. Or most anything that can be used as one. Most them wouldnt even be able to learn vast Majority of the worlds martial arts forms since they dont have either arms and hands or legs and feet. So they should see reason and that the Dolphins will never beat us.

      Even as cats have manipulated humans into all sorts of servile actions--just look at food varieties and their dominance on the Internet--dolphin could also manipulate us into adapting weapons to their body forms. We almost already do. PC and CZcams precludes elaborating, and this whole fantasy stuff isn't worth the getting gigged.

      In A New Hope the target exhaust port was described as being *right below the main port* indicating that it was one of the hundreds, or even thousands, of primary and secondary exhaust ports scattered across the station's structure. A station the size of the Death Star would logically need more than just two exhaust ports with the amount of waste heat it was likely generating simply from day to day operations, never mind firing the superlaser.

    One of my favorite quotes from Stargate SG1 is, “This is a weapon of terror,” in referance to the Goauld’s battle staves (which were inaccurate and ineffective) and, “This is a weapon of war,” in reference to the P90 submachine gun. This quote perfectly sums up the contrsting beliefs of Palpatine and Thrawn. Palpatine belived that the Death Star, star destroyers, and other ineffective weapons, needed to be as terrifying as possible to prevent rebellion (you saw how well that went). Thrawn, on the other hand, strongly opposed the Death Star because he knew how inferior it was to a large armada. In the end, Palpatine was a politician; not a Tactician; that is the true reason why the Empire fell.

      @Joshua Tupper Yet Rogue One was one of the greatest Star Wars films ever, and probably the most coherent from a plot perspective, even fixing a major plot hole. The characters had thought out motivations and it has the greatest Vader scene ever.
      Yet the Rebel leads were a English woman, a Mexican male, two Asian men, a English Pakistani man, and a scary elderly Black man. The only white American was a robot.
      The SJW complaint is just an excuse for inadequate white males who are so delicate that the can't even stand the idea of a movie in which all the cast doesn't revolves around the greatness of a white male. And both new canon films included white males as the alpha good guys anyway, Han in The Force Awakens, and Luke in The Last Jedi.
      Has anyone considered that the new Disney canon is crap because it's crap, and it would still be crap if the casting of the good guys had been a pale sausage fest.
      So do you agree that Rogue One was a great film?

      You are forgetting about the artificial gravity. The same artificial gravity that easily prevents crews from being crushed by a ships acceleration, turning, and braking maneuvers. That way, no matter what the ship does, the crew can walk around just like they can on a stationary surface. Only unanticipated moves, like hits from outside objects or energy weapons, would be a problem.

    • @barrybend7189
      @barrybend7189 Před 5 lety +2

      @@oldtimefarmboy617 still think the outcome is the same as the hyperdrive is inactive during firing. Meaning the laser is sole thrust to that speed.

    • @oldtimefarmboy617
      @oldtimefarmboy617 Před 5 lety +12

      The hyperdrive accelerates a ship to speeds far faster than light and then decelerates to far less than light when turned off. If you can create gravity then you can also manipulate it, as is shown in Star Wars by having different parts of a ship with different gravity strengths and in multiple directions. Since the ship's or Death Star's computer knows what is going to happen and when, it is a simple matter of creating a gravity field of the necessary strength and direction to negate the laser's effect.

    • @bigbowss9817
      @bigbowss9817 Před 5 lety +7

      1. Death Star probably has thrusters to counteract the normal force from firing, just like all star destroyers.
      2. Like it was said before, if the artificial gravity can handle hyperspace speed acceleration and deceleration, it can adjust to a 0.5c push back also...

    10 Flaws with Grand Moff Tarkin.
    In addition, besides the flaws of his doctrine, his destruction of Scarif base was all about eliminating a personal rival and not about the security of the Death Star plans. He destroyed a important facility, and the evidence of how the station had been sabotaged, it was left sitting in the transmission tower! (Along with Krenic, who had been told). An analysis of the data that had been sent would have revealed what the vulnerability was, instead of relying on the dubious success of recapturing the plans from the rebels so they can see what was so vital on them.
    Tarkin had compromised the investigation repeatedly by withholding intelligence from Krenic, to only revel it in public to embarrass him, instead of informing him of the issue sooner when he could have dealt with it more efficiently. So he even compromised the attempts to investigate espionage just to destroy another officer.
    Ersno could not have gimped the Death Star without Tarkins unwitting help, and the great disappointment in all this is the destruction of the Death Star was so quick that he probably didn't have time to realise how severely he had screwed himself.

      Forgive me, but I must fanboy.
      There are no flaws with the X-Wing fighter. It was, without a doubt, the best and most versatile fighter ship ever created by Incom inc. It had almost the same top speed as the A-wing, but far better shields, it was more heavily armed than the A-wing as well. It was capable of hyperspace travel, (TIE's were not) It was nearly twice as fast as the Y-wing bomber, and also had Proton torpedoes, although did not have Ion cannons. It was designed as the "one ship for any use". It could intercept, and it could be used for bombing runs (Luke and the first DS)
      The A-wings and Y-wings were built for specific purposes. A's were Interceptors and Y's were heavy bombers.
      X's, could do it all.
      B-wings, were bombers. A more advanced, newer design than the old Clone War era Y-Wings.

    If I had to create an imperial military:
    1. Gunships. Many, many gunships. Heavy cannons capable of blowing holes in Mon Calamari cruisers, and lots of PDCs. Being light and nimble makes them cheap and extremely destructive.
    2. Missile cruisers loaded with particle annihilation missiles. Because destroying a whole fleet just takes too long most of the time. Like torpedos on a destroyer.
    3. Carriers. Fighters take too long to deploy and there are too few of them: dedicated carriers could swarm the skies with space superiority.
    4. Medium cruisers. Bigger guns than the gunships, but cheaper than battleships.
    5. Battleships. Who needs PDCs: just have shields like a tank, similar armor, and fighters. Plus guns to blow a Mon Calamari cruiser back to where it came from.
    6. Ground bombardment ships: vast craft designed to (at least) blow up cities, or (at most) planets. Only used when all enemies have been neutralised in space.
    Damn rebels will never see me coming.

    Instead of improving and advancing star destroyer design like any normal naval/space power...they build a gigantic station.
    Think about it, if the Imperials had Starfleet's (Trek) mentality for engineering & advancing technology, the Rebels wouldn't stand a chance, stagnating your military prowess for one weapon system is abhorently stupid. Imagine, the TIE fighter getting a snub fighter overhaul. Developing plasma based weapons (phasers) instead of lasers. Sheild rotation and integration, including advancing hyperdrive efficientcy (navi computer wise), eliminate the need for droids etc etc. The Imperial Fleet would be able to counter any threat and the Civil War would be a flash in the pan.

    The high energy plasma shockwave produced by destroying a planet like that would also devastate the inner solar system with the force of a minor nova. If Earth had been targeted it would have scoured the atmosphere from the inner planets, should they not be hidden behind the sun, which would also hiccup as it got blasted with dust.
    A Death Star minus the weapons does have uses as industrial centres and as artificial planets/Eucmenopolis, build one as a weapons, one as a Mobile fleet HQ/shipyard and crank out artificial habitats. The latter civilian uses would end up paying for the Death Star.
    The Death Star had no shields, only a few openings that were protected by energy fields, this was supposedly down to power requirements. I call BS on the excuse only done for plot purposes.
    A single Kardashev 2 civilisation could not only hammer the Empire as the equivalent of the UN entire going all out after a toddler, (yes, a single toddler) but could fund a Dearth Star via crowd funding, and it would not even have to be that poplar a cause to raise the funds.
    The fact is that build those artificial planet-Eucmenopolis could have not only created new markets but increased the available "worlds" to live on and strengthen the galactic economy. The "Super Mining Station" (Oooooh, a Death Star by any other name would smell as sweet?) could then rubble unwanted planetary bodies for extensive mining and construction work. People would have gotten used to such a machine being about and over time may have been able to clear new hyperspace corridors as a long term plan.
    Imaging the raging the rebels would have done against "the planet killer" that never killed planets anyone wanted and made new places for everyone to live and thrive. The Rebels would have attacked and looked like fanatical murderous lunatics no one could reason with. GAME OVER : Rebel Scum.

      I agree; building something that large should have meant that planets are obsolete, since you should be able to fit at least 500 million people comfortably into something the size of the death star, if not more, and been a inspiration to build more and more of them.
      Hell, tourism alone to a mobile world like the death star would help offset the costs;god knows I'd gleefully spend YEARS exploring the nooks and crannies of just a small section of it.
      And if the death star had truly been meant to bring order, then it could have accomplished it just by EXISTING; a galaxy wide icon, saying " we are the empire; we can manufacture WORLDS.... can your civilization do that?!"
      And as a species wide icon for Humanity it would have unified; Humanity could look to it and think "we built that;what can't we do?"
      But the moment Tarkin fired it at a inhabited planet, much less one as revered by, essentially, EVERYONE, instead of being a symbol of accomplishment and pride, it showed the galaxy just how dangerous humanity was!

    I have only just started watching videos on this channel a couple weeks ago. Each video is unique and enjoyable, I personally have enjoyed your alternate endings and story arcs on the prequel trilogy. That being said I would like to see you do a video on an order 66 or other related topic that focuses more on the clones. The clones still had emotions and independent thought which I believe would have created conflict internally for them like it would for any human being. For clones such as Bly, Rex and Gree we are told that they were constantly conflicted with the order to the point Rex removed it and deserted. In an alternate story where say Anakin kills Palpatine before the order is executed but then when the Jedi are named traitors by a Chancellor Skywalker and must flee. The the clones are commanded to hunt down the Jedi without the execution of order 66 they are not forced to kill them. This would cause a conflict not only between these brothers in arms but internally also. You see clone leaders such as Bly, Gree, Rex and even maybe entire battalions such as the 104th "Wolfpack" who had a close bonds with the Jedi such as Plo Koon. As a result they would began to choose sides. Some choose the Jedi while others such as perhaps Cody would remain loyal to the Republic whom they were raised to serve. As a result later on you have a sizeable clone force personally protecting Padmé, her children and the last Jedi. This is just an idea of course because I have always loved the clone characters developed in the Clone Wars series which makes it hard to watch Revenge of the Sith. I know as a soldier your comrades can quickly become your family on the battlefield especially if you are a tight knit unit.

Inside the Maw he found the prototype to the Death Star, although still just the skeleton of the station. Most the scientists and engineers inside the Maw stations was told that they was designing a new asteroid mining facility. The super laser on the station they was told was to be used to break up larger asteroids and uninhabited planets to make mining easier. Part of the reason for the size of the Death Star that the engineers was told was to house all the mining equipment and have the ability to bring in the smaller chunks is asteroids into the station for processing.

Indeed Tarkin underestimated the Rebels and citizens across the galaxy when he ordered the destruction of Alderaan, if you ask me i don't believe that even Palpatine had gave his permission for such thing, at least so early on.

    I once tried to write an article for Cracked about this very subject. I had some similar points.
    First, it's too big. I calculated that to get from the hanger bay to the Bridge, would require someone to travel at 700 miles per hour for a full 15 minutes.
    The cost. To build would cost the Earth equivalent of 15 septillion dollars.
    The effects of destroying a planet, while being anywhere near it. ; Not only would blowing up a planet cause a gravity well, that would likely crush the DS, but the debris and chunks of planet would be propelled in all directions into the vacuum of space.
    This would almost certainly destroy the battlestation.
    You can't just go anywhere with it: The DS was a mobile station. It had a hyperdrive and would have used the same routes as any other hyperspace-capable ship. Something the size of the DS traveling in the same hyperspace "lanes" would almost certainly come out of hyperspace into "traffic". Imagine a 747 traveling down a 2-lane country road, and you get the idea.
