Happy to get back to Taganga, Colombia, one of my favourite places in all of Colombia. When I knew I would be coming back here, I made a point of visiting Taganga, or at least penning it into my plans, as each time I have travelled Colombia, I have come here and it has gotten better and better. My first time in Taganga, Colombia, it was a little dangerous, there was not much tourism, most people stayed in Santa Marta, just over the hill from Taganga, and now altough Taganga has grown a little, it is still the sleepy fishing village on Colombias north coast, just as I recall.

To get to Taganga, you head towards Santa Marta as you will pass through the city, and over the ridge, down towards Taganga, one of the most beautiful views when you rise over that hill. You can catch a bus in the center of Santa Marta that will take you to Taganga, or you can take a taxi, which also will not cost you much at all.
To travel Colombia, I often use the company Viva Colombia as their flights can be cheaper than bussing, however be prepared if they cancel, or you need to cancel your flight you will take ages to get your money back, if at all. Either way, made it up to Barranquilla Colombia and went from there to Santa Marta and from there, over the hill to Taganga, Colombia.

Staying at Casa Gypsy, a few blocks from the soccer field in Taganga Colombia, and this is a terrific place to stay. Well equipped, safe, relaxed and a beautiful rootfop terrace overlooking the beautiful ocean here in Taganga Colombia.
Spending a few days here in Taganga, and then will be doing some more Colombia travel as I head towards Cartagena, and then who knows where! So make sure to subscribe for more Colombia videos and stay tuned for more advice on what to do in Colombia and how to travel Colombia.

Yes it is such a good place, and a lot of people do not visit it, which I love so I can have Taganga all to myself! Hahaha.

Will lees. Last question. I’m arriving in playa del Carmen Jan 16-23. It says high chance of rain everyday. Is this accurate or does the weather change frequently ? Thanks.

Rainy changes pretty often in Playa del Carmen. Sometimes hourly. You will probably encounter rain on those days but doesnt mean it will be chucking it will down the whole time. Go visit Taganga! It barely rains haha

You should be alright. In the big cities, a lot of people speak English and at the hostels and tourist areas, they aim to employ English speakers. Little towns like Taganga, you will want to have a few phrases handy and when you come across a bilingual traveller or local, brush up on key things to know but youll be okay. I went to Colombia my first time at 20 with no Spanish and go by no dramas.
