„Lernen“ heißt „Kenntnisse, Fähigkeiten erwerben“. Dieses Verb beschreibt vor allem den Prozess des Lernens, z.B. : Ich lerne seit 4 Jahren Deutsch. „Erlernen“ heißt vor allem „fertig lernen, auswendig lernen, sich aneignen, einstudieren, sich lernend mit einer Sache beschäftigen, bis man sie beherrscht“.

Wir benutzen häufig das Verb "erlernen", wenn wir über das Lernen eines Berufs sprechen. Er hat einen Beruf erlernt. Er hat den Beruf des Bäckers erlernt.
