The lower torque and higher speed is perfect for me when working on dirt bikes when most of the fasteners I’m chasing with this tool is less that 35ft lbs. everyone has there preference when getting tools

I love mine!! The 1st gen has a smaller head which was nice but they made some great improvement.

I specifically went from gen 1 to gen 2 because I was tired of having to break fasteners loose by hand. Even tho gen 2 is slower, I find it takes less time because with 55 ft/lbs most things break free with the press of the lever. Gen 3 is a nonstarter for me because of the lower torque, which looks like it’s below the 35 ft/lbs of gen 1.

Excellent review! I'm keeping the gen 1 ratchet, as I'm good with that speed. The high speed ratchet is a bit too fast for me. I really prefer the ratchet to be able to at least break loose the smaller size nuts. I'm a DIYer, don't have lots of spare batteries, so I always look for longer battery life. For high torque applications, I'm waiting for an improved version of the M12 fuel right angle impact wrench.

I got the high speed one and I think I'm going to return it and get the high torque one. I wore out the first generation. One took a while though like 5 years and I'm a DIY

Coming from air tools there is a learning curve cuz I burnt the motor out of my first generation. 3/8 ratchet... Because I was holding the button down just a little while cranking stuff loose and it was smoking it out or running into boogered threads to or bolts

Does Milwaukee have a patent on these kind of ratchets?
I wish Bosch would come out with something similar.

Nope, pretty much every brand has it now, I kn Dewalt and Bosch makes air ratchets.

My gen 3 was able to crack the bolts from my car battery terminal when the gen 1 couldn’t at all thankfully my 90 return period hadn’t ended and I picked up the high speed one and like nothing took off the bolt from the terminal I honestly believe it’s faster and stronger

The nuance trade off to need of crack loose is negligible IMO compared to the speed - time saved on tasks.

Have you tried the same high speed ratchet tests with a 4.0 or higher battery? I've heard that makes a big difference. Milwaukee needs to release an M12 High Output battery, like they have in the M18s. I just hope it's the same shape as the CP2.0, or CP3.0. I don't care if it's a few inches longer, just don't give us a square block at the end of our ratchets. If we get the same 50% power increase as the M18s, all problems are solved. 👏🙌
